The application of network function virtualization (NFV) allows current networks to flexibly manage orchestrated network functions and provide various network services. The current virtual network function placement process suffers from excessive energy consumption and high cost, and reducing energy consumption is one of the important challenges in the NFV resource allocation process. In this article, we explore the issue of placing VNFs within networks that have been enabled for NFV. We propose an algorithm for energy-efficient deployment of virtual network functions based on improved reinforcement learning. NeMC combines neighborhood node information integration with Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS) method while evaluating the relevance of placed nodes. We set the underlying node resource occupation criteria for the placement policy and dynamically shut down the unused nodes to significantly reduce energy consumption;link selection utilizes the shortest path search technique to achieve end-to-end path search. Evaluation results show that the solution performs well in handling many online NFV requests, with reduced energy consumption compared to the comparison algorithm. The benefit-cost ratio is also improved. © 2023 ieee.

We developed a greenhouse gas monitoring mechanism based on the Internet of Things (IoT) and cyber-Physical systems (CPS) to mitigate global warming by controlling and monitoring greenhouse gas emissions. Greenhouse gas emissions have a significant impact on climate change and have negative effects on the environment and economy. Therefore, effectively controlling and reducing greenhouse gas emissions is an important task in the current global economic and environmental agenda. We investigated the use of CPS architecture and greenhouse gas sensors to regulate and record greenhouse gas emissions. The current measurement data from greenhouse gas sensors only provide concentration, which is not effective in correlating it with the potential impact of global warming. However, through the CPS, computer systems can consider parameters such as the molecular weight and atmospheric pressure of gases. Thus, we propose a conversion mechanism based on the composition of the two main greenhouse gases, carbon dioxide and methane and their impact on global warming. We suggested that a database be used to continuously record the carbon emission impact over time to have greenhouse gas sensors using CPS architecture better assess emission problems and develop more effective control measures. © 2023 ieee.

The goal of this research study is to reduce, the frequency dynamics of a hybrid microgrid linked to electric vehicles. A few energy-storing components, such as battery storage and ultra-capacitors, have been integrated with a variety of low MW sources, including diesel generators, micro-turbines, fuel cells, wind power generators, solar photo voltaic systems, and thermoelectric generators, in the proposed system's modeling. Different power system instability issues, particularly those related to frequency and voltage instability, are caused by the intrinsic dynamics of wind velocity and solar radiation variance along with electric vehicle charging. Utilizing a strong fuzzy-PID controller in the presence of various uncertainties helps to reduce the frequency instability problems in this investigation. Moreover, the fuzzy controller's fine and object-oriented parameters are extracted using an intelligent gradient based algorithm (GBA). A comparison analysis is conducted to demonstrate the superiority of the GBA approach and the proposed Fuzzy-PID controller. © 2024 ieee.

This paper presents a solar PV based onboard range extension scheme for low-power electric vehicles. The system utilizes a canonical switching inverse buck boost converter (CBBC) as a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) converter. The CBBC has been designed to work under CCM mode of operation. An INC based MPPT control algorithm is utilized to study the performance of the converter. The presented system utilizes solar PV power to save the battery power, and to charge the battery depending on the load on the motor. The system is developed in MATLAB Simulink environment and it has been tested for different dynamic conditions including change in load torque, changing solar Irradiance levels and change in reference speed. The presented results validate the performance of the converter for solar PV based onboard range extension. © 2023 ieee.

The creation of intelligent traffic systems is essential in the age of smart cities and developing technologies in order to guarantee effective and secure transportation networks. This study uses the state-of-the-art YOLO (You Only Look Once) v8 deep learning architecture to give a novel solution to the problems of real-time car and pedestrian recognition in video frames. The suggested method is centered on obtaining useful data from video streams, especially when it comes to recognizing cars and pedestrians in individual frames. In this context, we show that YOLO version 8 is accurate and effective through a series of thorough trials and assessments. YOLO version 8 is used for object recognition after pictures from video frames are captured as part of the research method. Our technology can quickly recognize and track automobiles and people by using real- time visual analysis. We also look at how this technology may be used in driverless cars, traffic control, and spying. The report also explores the technological aspects of YOLO version 8, emphasizing its advancements over earlier versions, including increased resilience, speed, and accuracy. We go over the process of training and fine-tuning needed for best results when it comes to traffic monitoring. We demonstrate the system's capacity to properly recognize cars and pedestrians, even in difficult settings like changing illumination conditions and occlusions, by thorough testing and validation on many datasets. The findings demonstrate how this technology has the ability to completely transform traffic management and improve road safety. Finally, using YOLO version 8 for real-time car and pedestrian recognition in video frames, this research study provides an intelligent traffic system. The technology exhibits encouraging outcomes, laying the path for further advancements in intelligent transportation, traffic optimization, and public safety. © 2024 ieee.

Hyperautomation is an emerging technology stack that combines various automation technologies to streamline and optimize business processes. Companies increasingly adopt these technologies to reduce costs, increase efficiency, and gain a competitive advantage. This study focuses on combining the different technologies under the hyperautomation approach. From a management perspective, we examine the benefits and challenges of hyperautomation that focus on increasing company productivity. Based on a literature review, we develop a taxonomy that enables a profound understanding of the complex hyperautomation landscape. Findings underscore the substantial potential of hyperautomation to improve productivity, particularly through cost and time savings and enhanced employee efficiency. This research addresses the lack of systematization in previous studies, presenting a nuanced understanding of hyperautomation's implications for managerial strategies. © 2025 ieee Computer Society. The current education system emphasizes memorization and high test scores, leading to disinterest and a lack of motivation among students. A more comprehensive educational approach that integrates hands-on learning, real-world applications and the development of critical thinking skills is proposed. Decentralization and transparency are two critical issues that impact the education system, and addressing them through initiatives such as increased openness in decision-making processes and accountability can improve the system. This research work proposes using Blockchain technology in education to provide recognition for students' skills, secure and transparent verification of their academic history, and a more engaging and rewarding learning experience. A proof of concept is proposed, an incentive-based skill development platform that uses Ethereum smart contracts and cryptographic tokens to reward students' efforts. © 2023 ieee.

This paper presents an in-depth evaluation of peer-to-peer (P2P) energy sharing in community microgrids using PSS Sincal for power flow simulations. The study focuses on an ieee bus system configured as community microgrids, where each bus functions as an independent microgrid equipped with loads, Solar PV systems, batteries, and converters. These microgrids are connected to the main grid and leverage a dynamic power flow control mechanism through strategically placed switches managed by a custom algorithm by ensuring the power flow converges. Four distinct scenarios were rigorously tested: 'Isolated Operation,' where each community grid meets its power requirements solely through PV generation;'Total Dependence on the Main Grid,' where PV systems generate no power, and communities rely entirely on the main grid;'Partial PV Generation,' where PV systems partially meet power needs, supplemented by the main grid;and 'Surplus PV Generation,' where PV systems generate excess power for sharing. The PSS Sincal simulations demonstrated the algorithm's effectiveness in enhancing energy distribution efficiency, stability, and the utilization of renewable resources. This study underscores the practical viability of P2P energy sharing in community mi- crogrids, contributing valuable insights to the development of resilient and intelligent power networks. © 2024 ieee.

With the continuous increase penetration of new energy, the integration of grid-following (GFL) converter is prone to frequency stability issue, while the utilization of grid-forming (GFM) converter with active support capability has become an inevitable trend in development. In this paper, the model of grid-connected photovoltaic system using GFL/GFM control is established. The support characteristic of GFM is compared and analyzed in different testing scenarios with GFL as the reference: (1) Small disturbance test (2) Large disturbance test (3) Island capability test. Finally, the active support performance of the system is quantitatively analyzed based on corresponding evaluation indexes. ©2023 ieee.

Smart environments are interactive spaces instrumented by intelligent devices, sensors, actuators, and intelligent monitoring systems that allow users to control and automate objects. In the Internet of Things (IoT) era, these environments benefit from IoT-powered technologies to improve users' lives. Nowadays, the lack of collaboration and cooperation between the different elements of the smart environment is a big challenge. In this paper, we propose a decentralized architecture based on IoT-Agent technology that allows cooperation between different agents of smart environments. For this purpose, a distributed protocol is proposed for cooperation and negotiation between agents. As a use case, we take a smart university residence and seek to collaborate between the different rooms to improve student life. Therefore, we have implemented this architecture through a 3D simulation using the 3D Unity platform in combination with the JADE platform for multi-Agent system. © 2023 ieee.
