Energy security, environmental issues, and economic issues are the driving factors for studying the reduction of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. To solve the problems of urban centralized heating systems, this article designs and implements an intelligent monitoring system based on the current mainstream Internet of Things communication technology NB IoT. The monitoring system can maintain device information in the cloud platform and monitor energy consumption in real-time. Management personnel can issue device control instructions through the monitoring system. On this basis, we designed an RBF neural network prediction model to predict the water supply temperature of the secondary network, achieving closed-loop control of the water supply temperature of the secondary network. Through simulation experiments on the established predictive model and control algorithm, the results show that the adopted control algorithm can effectively control the system model due to changes in amplification factor and time constant compared to conventional PID control, verifying the feasibility and effectiveness of the adopted control method. © 2025 SPIE.

The frequent usage of digital twins to communicate between physical objects is resulting in more complex cyber-physical systems. To simplify the individual components' integration and to optimize their usage, a data broker is being developed. Therefore, digital twins need to be semantically organized in an ontology that provides the advantage of reasoning methods. An assisted workflow is being developed to automatically enter subgraphs into an ontology. As a digital twin representation, the Asset Administration Shell format is used to have an international standard technology. Based on this, a new domain-specific language is developed, allowing experts to configure the generation process. This process maps the digital twin's information into a graph representation of the ontology. The preconfigured generation process enables the user to efficiently register new digital twins without having expert knowledge of the underlying ontology. Additionally, a Large Language Model vector embedding and text reasoning support is implemented analysing the digital twin to create entity suggestions. The presented data broker is an automation tool for bridging the gap between semantic descriptions and digital twin formats in order to unite the advantages of both representations.

The rapidly evolving cyber threat landscape requires innovative and adaptive intrusion detection solutions. Traditional signature-based intrusion detection systems, despite their high accuracy, are inherently inflexible and susceptible to evasion tactics, making them ineffective against novel and sophisticated attacks. In contrast, machine learning-powered anomaly-based intrusion detection systems demonstrate improved detection capabilities, but their advantages are often outweighed by substantial drawbacks, including significant computational resource requirements when the dataset and its features for behavior analysis increase. Also, there are high power consumption and latency issues in communication that compromise network performance. This study proposes a hybrid ANN-LSTM approach for performing deep packet inspection and efficiently detecting malicious network packets. By analyzing binary container data, our model reduces time and space complexity, thereby mitigating the computational resources and power consumption challenges but also increasing the efficiency of intrusion detection by 3%, making it more intelligent than various established IDS. © 2025 ieee.

The service ecosystem has been created as a logic collection of different services,which is a typical cyber-Physical *** the rapidly developed service-oriented architecture (SOA) technology, it increasingly attracted more attention by providing users more flexible services. Clarifying the relations between services and the structure of the service ecosystem is of great importance to construct a productive service ecosystem. However, the current researches mostly study the optimize service discovery algorithms, service compositions and service recommendations, these works are mainly based on the analysis of the service relations from a component view and ignore the system structure constructed by the services and their relations. In this paper, we focus on the system structure of the Programmable-web service ecosystem and propose an model of the service ecosystem. We have analyzed the statistics of the actual service ecosystem based on the service data and find that the structure of the service system shows scale-free characteristics. The results show that the proposed model could capture the statistics of the actual network and be applicable to model the Programmable-web service ecosystem. © 2025 SPIE.

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) door lock systems are at the forefront of modern access control technology, combining security, convenience, and scalability. This paper presents a comprehensive review of RFID-based access control systems, highlighting their fundamental components, operational mechanisms, and advantages over traditional methods. Key innovations in RFID technology, such as integration with IoT platforms and mobile devices, are discussed in the context of enhancing system functionality and user experience. Moreover, this paper examines the challenges associated with RFID implementations, including data security vulnerabilities, signal interference, and high installation costs, while suggesting potential solutions. Through this analysis, the paper highlights the growing relevance of RFID access systems in residential, commercial, and industrial environments, paving the way for further advancements in secure and intelligent access control *** research identifies key challenges in traditional access control systems, such as susceptibility to breaches, lack of scalability, and operational inefficiency. RFID door lock systems emerge as an advanced solution, integrating wireless communication, IoT platforms, and mobile devices to address these limitations. This study presents an in-depth analysis of RFID systems, highlighting their components, operational mechanisms, and comparative advantages. Considering issues such as vulnerability to data security, interference signals, and a high price tag for the installation, this paper suggests possibilities with solutions of viable, secure, scalable, and intelligent access control systems. Hence, the transformative RFID technology into a residential, commercial, or industrial domain holds an immense study area. © 2025 ieee.

Now a days, the standard of living in urban areas is advanced by leveraging technologies such as cyber-Physical systems (CPS) and Internet of Things (IoT) with physical infrastructures. However, smart cities highly rely on digital ecosystems, which makes them vulnerable to various cyber threats such as Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) which leads in violations of privacy and threats to safety of citizens. To develop an effective and efficient system for detection of cybersecurity threats, Box plot Sampling Isolation Forest (BSIF) is proposed. Initially, the data was collected from the Botnet Traffic attack in Internet of Things (BoT-IoT) dataset which contains various normal traffic and Botnet traffic data. After that, Label Encoding (LE) was used for preprocessing the data, which assigns numerical labels to each category in the dataset. Furthermore, Recursive Feature Elimination (RFE) technique was utilized for iterative extraction and selection of features based on their weights is performed by Decision Tree (DT). Finally, the proposed BSIF model is used for detection of cybersecurity threats associated with smart cities, by leveraging box plot sampling method. The proposed obtain better results with 99.74% Precision, 99.92% Accuracy, 99.87% Recall and 99.84% F1-score, compared with Smart Attacks Learning Machine Advisor (SALMA) respectively. © 2025 ieee.

The development of network technology has laid a solid foundation for the network transmission of integrated media. The amount of information in integrated media is large, and it has the characteristics of real-time, interactivity, continuity, and synchronization. How to ensure and improve the service quality of media has become an urgent problem that integrated media technology needs to solve. In this paper, a real-time communication model of streaming media transmission based on edge computing is proposed. Based on the above principles, the core modules and network architecture of the model were derived, and the structure and transmission scheme of the model were studied and designed. This article will help ensure the real-time, continuity, and stability of integrated media communication by optimizing the system architecture design. © 2025 SPIE.

The growing complexity of cyber-attacks has underlined the requirement of strong Intrusion Detection systems (IDS) able to instantly recognize a variety of hazards. This work offers a strategy for improving Next-Generation Intrusion Detection systems (NGIDs) combined with firewalls by use of machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) approaches. Using the NSL-KDD dataset - which includes both normal and attack network traffic - the work creates a system able to classify traffic patterns into "Normal"and "Attack"categories. The proposed method consists in four phases: data collecting, data preprocessing, feature selection and extraction, and classifier application. In the preprocessing stage, the dataset is cleaned and normalized;hence, suitable feature selection follows to increase classification accuracy. Trained and tested for classification using performance criteria including accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score, naïve bayes and support vector machine (SVM) models are then compared in efficacy. The results reveal that the SVM classifier has low misclassification and great accuracy (97.29%), therefore proving its prospective use in advanced IDS. The article underlines how several models could be merged inside a firewall system to offer real-time network protection. Future studies will look at using deep learning techniques and ensemble methods to raise detection accuracy even more, therefore allowing NGIDS to be more adaptable and efficient in countering evolving cyber threats. © 2025 ieee.

The growing adoption of renewable energy primary plants has been seen globally. South Africa has seen a significant development in utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) farms in recent years due to the alleviated regulations stipulated in the latest Electricity Regulation Amendment Act. Connecting the PV plants to the power grid has also undergone a technical evolution by incorporating modern embedded computers known as intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs). The international Electrotechnical Committee (IEC) 61850 standard defines a suite of protocols used in modern power systems. This study compares the IEC 61850 Manufacturing Messaging Specification (MMS) with the well-known MODBUS protocol. The comparison is achieved by simulating a solar farm's Power Plant controller (PPC). © 2025 ieee.

The application of digital microfluidics in biochemical reaction analysis has received widespread attention and is becoming more mature, but the degree of automation in reaction and result reading still needs to be improved, especially when a large number of droplets are present. Therefore, this paper realizes the detection and visual intelligent control for large-scale droplet arrays based on the artificial intelligence object detection model, and proposes a mask method for the readout of the colorimetric reaction results, predicts the reaction results using deep learning models, and carries out the application research in a variety of colorimetric reactions using active-matrix digital microfluidics. © 2025 ieee.
