Currently, ensuring the cybersecurity (CSS) of the automated process control system (APCS) of a digital substation is an extremely urgent problem, since at present the introduction of control tools with complex modern digital technologies is accelerating at electric power enterprises. At the same time, digital communication at the substations is a key component of power grid modernization plans, but at the same time, this technology significantly increases the vulnerability of the automated process control systems to the cyber attacks. The paper analyzes current cyberattacks on the automated control system of a digital substation (DGS) and develops a comprehensive cybersecurity solution that meets the legislative requirements of Russia and adapted to the identified model of cyber threats. The article assesses the risk levels of cyber attacks on various information resources of the DGS. © 2023 ieee.

This paper introduces a novel ankle rehabilitation platform aimed at enhancing muscular strength recovery after injury. Inspired by the musculoskeletal structures of the ankle, the platform-based approach is explored as an optimal method for ankle rehabilitation. Then, a stiffness-varying module is integrated into the designed configuration, enabling multi-directional and wide-range customized stiffness adjustments under ankle rehabilitation training. A prototype is developed and validated via stiffness analysis and sEMG experiments.

Ethernet Passive Optical Network (EPON) is a high-speed, energy-efficient fiber optic network that has gained attention with the growth of the Industrial Internet. However, existing security protocols for EPON, based on strand space theories, have flaws such as identity inconsistencies and consensus issues. This paper expands the strand space model and authentication testing method, enhances the Fiber Channel Password Authentication Protocol (FACP) strand space model in the EPON network environment using symmetric cryptography and asymmetric cryptography, fulfills the authentication requirements, and obtains the corresponding attack examples. Experimental results demonstrate that this protocol can enhance the security and efficiency of communication between devices and between devices and nodes (servers, disks) in commonly used EPON environments without affecting the identity authentication function. © 2024 ieee.

Simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) is widely used in the field of intelligent robots. With the expansion of SLAM applications, especially the requirements of multi-user interaction proposed in the AR field, the realization of multi-user collaborative SLAM technology has become a necessary demand. Multi-agent collaboration in indoor scenes can effectively improve the efficiency of mapping and the actual user experience through map fusion. We design a system for real-time multi-user collaborative mapping and map fusion. The system includes communication module, mapping module, match module, and fusion module. Most previous solutions are based on overlapping region detection between clients to realize map fusion and collaborative mapping, and employ DBoW2 to find overlapping regions. However, errors are introduced from the mismatching problem because the fixed similarity threshold of DBoW2 is difficult to set. In this paper, we propose the KNN map match method to solve mismatch, and apply it to the collaborative visual-inertial SLAM system. The function of the system is verified on the public dataset. We evaluated the accuracy of the map fusion on public dataset, and the results show that the proposed method can improve the matching accuracy. © 2022 ieee.

Reliable LiDAR panoptic segmentation (LPS), including both semantic and instance segmentation, is vital for many robotic applications, such as autonomous driving. This work proposes a new LPS framework named PANet to eliminate the dependency on the offset branch and improve the performance on large objects, which are always over-segmented by clustering algorithms. Firstly, we propose a non-learning Sparse Instance Proposal (SIP) module with the "sampling-shifting-grouping" scheme to directly group thing points into instances from the raw point cloud efficiently. More specifically, balanced point sampling is introduced to generate sparse seed points with more uniform point distribution over the distance range. And a shift module, termed bubble shifting, is proposed to shrink the seed points to the clustered centers. Then we utilize the connected component label algorithm to generate instance proposals. Furthermore, an instance aggregation module is devised to integrate potentially fragmented instances, improving the performance of the SIP module on large objects. Extensive experiments show that PANet achieves state-of-the-art performance among published works on the SemanticKITII validation and nuScenes validation for the panoptic segmentation task. The rapid development of the semiconductor industry represents a global challenge to meet the needs of Science, technology, and Innovation in the 21st century. Advancements in semiconductors optimize computer technology with innovations, among others, in nanotechnology, quantum technology, cognitive computing, cyber-Physical Human systems, Artificial Intelligence, and Robotics. The rapid development of semiconductors demands an imperative acceleration of training and the development of a highly skilled workforce. There is a gap between the knowledge and skills of students in the current education system and the fast development of new knowledge. To accelerate comprehensive training in the semiconductor workforce we must start at an early stage, this paper proposes that STEM education must be pedagogically grounded in the advances of cognitive neuroscience and learning. By understanding how the brain functions and how it learns, the process can be enhanced, the education of an Integral Engineer needs to be addressed by forming professionals equipped with adaptability, complex problem-solving, assertive communication, emotional intelligence, interdisciplinary teamwork skills, systems, analytical and critical thinking. This paper proposes curricular transformation processes, ethical formation, pedagogical foundations of interdisciplinary research laboratories, enhanced by an international network of remote laboratories, and a TRUE system of cultural transformation.

Using software robots that communicate with systems via their user interfaces, robotic process automation (RPA) attempts to automate corporate operations while increasing efficiency and cutting costs. To prevent inefficiencies,choosing the appropriate procedures for RPA automation is essential. This study offers a method for examining RPA development in corporate settings. Design, methodology, and approach: To pinpoint the key ideas behind RPA, this research undertakes a thorough literature assessment. It suggests a model linking these ideas and assesses its viability using Design Science Research (DSR) analysis of previous RPA case studies. Findings- The study shows that several of the key RPA ideas outlined in the literature analysis are absent from a number of case studies. © 2023 ieee.

The purpose of this paper is to improve the anti-interference ability of the quadrotor UAV. This paper proposes a non-singular fast terminal sliding mode combined with an active disturbance rejection controller. Firstly, the uncertainty factors, such as model errors and internal and external disturbances of the quadrotor UAV system, are regarded as lumped disturbances, estimated and compensated online by the extended state observer in real-time. According to its underactuated, multivariable, and nonlinear characteristics, it is divided into a position loop and an attitude loop. On this basis, it is transformed into complete drive control by introducing virtual control quantity. The simulation results show that the non-singular fast terminal sliding mode active disturbance rejection controller has better robustness than the cascade active disturbance rejection control. © 2024 ieee.

Effective control of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems is necessary to optimize indoor comfort, energy efficiency, and environmental impact. This study presents a novel method that combines the Technique for Order of Preferences by Similar to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) with the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to improve decision-making in HVAC control systems. Conventional HVAC control systems may not be well-suited to dynamic and uncertain situations since they frequently rely on deterministic algorithms and preset rules. On the other hand, the suggested method makes use of fuzzy logic to address the innate ambiguity and imprecision in HVAC control choices. reducing the impact on the environment and energy use. © 2024 ieee.

The commercial and defence applications of the use of mobile robots have escalated tremendously in the last ten years. These robots are created to perform some tasks and have been proven to be very useful in performing operations which have no requirement of a human being. Accordingly, the project's goal is to design and develop a small Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) which can be fully operated through a remote control. Further, in surveillance and Logistics Operations, vehicles are used. Lidar and cameras are employed in the vision system of the robot;therefore, the robot can be manually operable. The Unmanned Ground Vehicles are equipped primarily with obstacle avoidance, the reality which can bring people closer to the objects that surround them. These types of UGV primarily rely on sensors to detect the environment or other objects around them, act autonomously, navigate through situations which cannot be predicted or whose outcome is uncertain or they use this information to convey this information through various means to the operator of UGV when the service is required. © 2024 ieee.
