The implementation of system development methodologies (SDMs) in mobile applications ( mobile apps) development has a positive effect on companies and their respective software projects. SDMs provide a framework for planning, executing, and managing the process of developing software systems. In this paper, we investigate the worthiness of using of SDMs in the development of mobile applications. A survey was conducted among software developers both individuals and organizations. The organizations include software development companies, financial institutions, telecommunication companies, engineering companies and educational institutions. A total of 152 out of 392 questionnaires distributed, were returned, giving a response rate of 38.8%. Furthermore, the responses were categorized into two groups (users/non-users of SDMs) and T-test analysis was performed to determine the differences between the means of the two groups. The findings indicate that SDMs are effectively used in developing mobile apps and there are significant practical differences between the users and non-users of SDMs in mobile apps development in areas of organizational size, the number of developers in the organization, years of experience, the number of applications developed and application success. The users (companies and individuals) are larger, more experienced and more productive. Furthermore, the use of SDMs in mobile apps development leads to more successful mobile apps. We conclude that SDMs are indeed worthy of use in mobile apps development.

As it was pointed out at the Davos Forum, in the era of talentism, the company's prosperity will depend on human capital. However, human resources management is associated with the need to counter threats to the entire product lifecycle caused by the human factor. managing labor risks is associated with the need for an individual assessment of the human resource, which is a very laborious task, requiring digitalization of this projects area. The article presents the developed concept of an assessment system and architecture of the labor risks module for project tasks. A mathematical model for calculating labor risks has been formulated, taking into account many factors of the Project Server corporate environment, external sources of corporate data, such as the electronic passes system and MS Outlook e-mail. Algorithms of the program module's operation to calculate resource and design indicators have been developed, and the general architecture of the system has been built. Logical and physical data models are designed, all information system's objects for calculating resource and design indicators are identified. The software implementation methods, the software platform and the environment for implementing the assigned tasks are described in the paper. The software interface of the VSTO add-in was developed, its functional purpose and software forms to operate and analyze the calculated data on resources and project tasks are described.

This work investigates strategic management processes of projects involved in the Brazilian aerospace field, addressing the Regional Center of the Amazon of the National Institute of Space Research. It proposes an approach in the monitoring of the evolution of projects by evaluation of professional performance, showing results in graphs and the need to survey and follow the most evident and significant technological advances in the mapping environment of land use and land cover in the Amazon. It addresses the main difficulties faced in the process of managing projects and people to achieve goals, needing to know the Geographic Information system tools used by employees, such as Terramazon, and their respective times consumed in this type of software. The work intends to serve as a basis for investigating, developing and implementing new management options that will reduce the efforts required by managers and administrators during the process of monitoring the evolution of projects. The methodology of Project Management Institute (PMI) and its Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) was used in this research work, ensuring an international quality. © 2018 Portland international conference on Management of Engineering and Technology, Inc. Continuous architecture is vital for developing large, complex software systems and supporting continuous delivery, integration, and testing practices. Researchers and practitioners investigate models and rules for managing change to support architecture continuity. They employ manual techniques to analyze software change, categorizing the changes as perfective, corrective, adaptive, and preventive. However, a manual approach is impractical for analyzing systems involving thousands of artefacts as it is time-consuming, labor-intensive, and error-prone. In this paper, we investigate whether an automatic technique incorporating free-form natural language text (e.g., developers' communication and commit messages) is an effective solution for architectural change analysis. Our experiments with multiple projects showed encouraging results for detecting architectural messages using our proposed language model. Although architectural change categorization for the preventive class is moderate, the outcome for the random dataset is insignificant in general (around a 45% F1 score). We investigated the causes of the unpromising outcome. Overall, our study reveals that our automated architectural change analysis tool would be fruitful only if the developers provide considerable technical details in the commit messages or other text.

Over the last years, mobile applications and their corresponding distribution platforms have gained momentum. Applications stores allow users to write reviews and ratings about the apps, giving feedback to developers. User ratings and reviews may help to improve software quality, solve bugs and develop new features. However, this data is hard to be handled by an individual due to the ever growing amount of textual reviews. This paper proposes the use of cognitive computing technologies for addressing this challenge, by developing a smart agent able to mine bugs reports, feature suggestions and sentiment expressed in mobile app reviews. The main contributions of this paper are: the design of a cognitive agent for assisting developers in managing their interaction with their users, the application of machine learning algorithms for bug and feature request detection, and the agent implementation in a real scenario. © 2018 ieee.

Organizations struggle to manage overwhelming amount of heterogeneous resources, which are produced by several users working on different projects using various Information systems. This paper takes the task for modeling and developing a system of Information systems (SoIS) for managing heterogeneous resource. In order to manage these resources we are following the approach of SoIS that can be viewed as a single entry point for several Information systems granting the user access to information and resources produced from multiple autonomous Information systems. It can provide the ability to capitalize the knowledge of users as they are interacting with Information systems and each other. In this context, we look into the ability to index, share, and annotate important resources in the environment of the SoIS. In that sense, this paper focuses on modeling and developing a system of Information systems (SoIS) for managing heterogeneous resource.

Requirements are recognized as the NUMBER ONE cause of failed projects! Over budget, over schedule, reduced scope, poor quality, unhappy customers and cancelled projects are the results of bad requirements. The solution to bad requirements is to introduce a "Business or Mission analysis" as it initiates the life cycle of the system of interest by defining the problem domain that are bound to the solution domain while developing the business requirements and validation criteria. The market requirements for intelligent devices (district energy management, performance analysis and simulations) for SMART Cities has pushed the construction industry into experiencing product and service developments requiring concepts similar to the system life cycle processes per ISO/IEC/ieee 15288. The use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in the industry has closed the gap analysis between designed applications used in architectural design and those used in fabrication. This papers disruption innovation theory requires the need to change traditional construction management techniques into system Processes. The designated BIM manager cannot use a virtual model to develop infrastructure based on 2D managing concepts. This paper will demonstrate how system science and system thinking methodology can be used to enhance the management principles of construction projects using virtual designs. The authors apply a problem analysis technique to a desktop case-study 'construction project based in UAE.' The results of the analysis provide additional subjective thoughts targeting the problem space associated with the initial solution space domain.

Within the smart home concept, efforts have been made in order to provide comfort, security and conviviality functionalities in home's managing. Home support for people with loss of autonomy (PLA) living alone is among the most important research studies aiming to improve the living conditions and well-being of the residents. Our research project consists of designing and developing a new model of an integrative system of home assistance for PLA based on smart home technologies.

The article proposes the structure of an intelligent software platform for managing complex risks. It is proposed to divide the platform into a global and local part (end-point software) that provides not only the management of complex risks on the scale of a single system (enterprise, organization) but also the collection, accumulation, synthesis and dissemination of methods and models of integrated risk management that are best practices that have proven effective on practice. Within the local part, the platform provides the ability to build complexes of hybrid intelligent models by a risk management specialist without the participation of a programmer. Examples of using the proposed solution or its parts in projects aimed at risk management are considered. © 2018 ieee.
