Our research primarily focuses on developing mechanisms to intelligently route autonomous vehicles in an urban area while managing to reduce traffic congestion. We propose an intelligent Transportation system for Autonomous vehicles based on Multi-Agent paradigm. These agents observe traffic conditions over a period of time. Historical traffic information along with information of factors that affects traffic(like weather conditions) are used to develop a regression based learning algorithm that predicts time required to traverse a route for a given time-slot, which can be used to find out shortest path for a given source-destination pair, before beginning to travel. This estimated traverse time for every lane is communicated to the vehicles. Based on this information, the vehicles find out k shortest paths. Reservation based protocols are used to obtain a single path such that the overall congestion is minimized and the destination is reached in the shortest possible time. The shortest path obtained is then traversed with the help the vehicle control system with optimized fuel efficiency, ensuring vehicle stability and obstacle avoidance. To achieve this path trajectory, we used nonlinear Model Predictive control (MPC) approach based on bicycle model of vehicle dynamics. The main advantage of MPC is the fact that it allows the current time-slot to be optimized, while taking future time-slots into account. We further investigate the linear MPC strategies for Co-operative adaptive Cruise control which directly minimizes the fuel consumption.

There is increasing need for manufacturing organisations to implement lean, just-in-time, make-to-order systems, mainly due to the cost pressures and varying customer preferences. This creates unexpected disturbances within the manufacturing systems, causing delays in delivery time. In order to quickly identify and react to disturbances, it is vital to capture real-time dynamic information related to the parts in production, resources, inventory levels and quality information. In many literatures, product intelligence achieves the fundamental requirements of managing disturbance. Current challenge, however, is that existing researches focused on developing a tracking system dealing with specific disturbance. In this paper, we present a systematic guideline for implementing such a system. The proposed guideline uses principles of product intelligence and combines them with the characteristics of disturbances and the associated information requirements. A case example is also presented to illustrate the developed concepts.

The 2008-2009 financial crisis and related organizational and economic failures have meant that financial organizations are faced with a 'tsunami' of new regulatory obligations. This environment provides new managerial challenges as organizations are forced to engage in complex and costly remediation projects with short deadlines. Drawing from a longitudinal study conducted with nine financial institutions over twelve years, this paper identifies nine IS capabilities which underpin activities for managing regulatory themed governance, risk and compliance efforts. The research shows that many firms are now focused on meeting the Regulators' deadlines at the expense of developing a strategic, enterprise-wide connected approach to compliance. Consequently, executives are in danger of implementing siloed compliance solutions within business functions. By evaluating the maturity of their IS capabilities which underpin regulatory adherence, managers have an opportunity to develop robust operational architectures and so are better positioned to face the challenges derived from shifting regulatory landscapes.

Software Development for Automotive systems is becoming more and more complex. Cars are turned into software intensive and to some extent software defined products by the increasing functionality of the various electronic control units (ECUs). Major driving factors for this development are complex human-machine-interfaces (HMI), eMobility and autonomous driving. Consequently, developing the software comes along with complex development projects and several partners. Different companies participate in such projects and form a value chain for the generation of a certain software system. Development tools have to support these project specific value chains. For this purpose the tools form a project-specific information supply chain. Ideally, they are connected to an automated tool chain. AMALTHEA provides an open source tool chain platform to support the setup of project specific development systems. This contribution presents the AMALTHEA tool chain environment and the underlying software development methodology. The concepts for the support of tailoring a tool chain and the standardization activities for the respective framework are described. Furthermore, an approach for the quantification of the efficiency and effectivity gains is described and key performance indicators are estimated.

developing neuro-inspired computing paradigms that mimic nervous system function is an emerging field of research that fosters our model understanding of the biological system and targets technical applications in artificial systems. The computational power of simulated brain circuits makes them a very promising tool for the development for brain-controlled robots. Early phases of robotic controllers development make extensive use of simulators as they are easy, fast and cheap tools. In order to develop robotics controllers that encompass brain models, a tool that include both neural simulation and physics simulation is missing. Such a tool would require the capability of orchestrating and synchronizing both simulations as well as managing the exchange of data between them. The Neurorobotics Platform (NRP) aims at filling this gap through an integrated software toolkit enabling an experimenter to design and execute a virtual experiment with a simulated robot using customized brain models. As a use case for the NRP, the iCub robot has been integrated into the platform and connected to a spiking neural network. In particular, experiments of visual tracking have been conducted in order to demonstrate the potentiality of such a platform.

People are constantly looking for ways to improve their health and one approach that could be taken in addition to exercising is managing daily nutrition intake. Even though to get fit and healthy we must manage our daily nutrition intake often we do not know what nutrients are present in food. Therefore, before eating we need to look for nutrition information of the food. The usual process of getting the food's nutrition information is by searching via the google or use some application such as Coach Noom, Calorie Counter, Lose It. In this paper we proposed to make this process smarter, faster, and more efficient by developing an android application that can shows the nutrition information by just taking the picture of the food. We develop an android augmented reality application to help users to get nutritional information in an easy and informative way. The information is displayed in the form of calorie, fat, carbohydrate, and protein per serving. Using this application, users can get the nutritional information simply by taking a picture of the food. From our experiments, the food recognition's accuracy level is 92%, while the average time required to identify the name and the nutrients is 9.295 seconds. © 2015 ieee.

Cloud management becomes increasingly complex and brings high costs, especially with the advent of hybrid cloud. In a hybrid cloud, numerous resources like Virtual Machines (VMs) and Physical Machines in different clouds have to be managed together to make the whole hybrid cloud work cost-effectively. For controlling the management cost, in particular the manual management cost, many programs have been developed to take over manual management tasks or reduce their complexity and difficulty. These programs are usually hard-coded by languages like Java and C++, which bring enough capability and flexibility but also cause high programming effort and cost. As the architecture-based runtime model is causally connected with the corresponding running system automatically, constructing a hybrid cloud management system based on the architecture-based runtime models of clouds can benefit from the model-specific natures, and thus reduce the development workload. This paper proposes a runtime architecture based approach to developing the management programs in a simple but powerful enough manner. First of all, the manageability (such as APIs, configuration files and scripts) of different kinds of clouds, is abstracted as a runtime architecture based model of cloud software architecture, which can automatically and immediately propagate any observable runtime changes of the target platforms to the corresponding architecture models, and vice versa. Second, we provide a unified model of cloud software architecture, according to the domain knowledge of current cloud platforms, such as CloudStack, OpenStack and Eucalyptus. Third, the synchronization between the unified model and cloud runtime models is ensured through model transformation;thus, all the management tasks of the hybrid cloud, could be carried out through executing programs on the unified model, which decreases the complexity of use and management.
