A computer system that serves a specific purpose inside a larger mechanical or electrical system is known as an embedded system. Embedded systems sometimes have to deal with real-time computing restrictions. Because embedded systems are designed to carry out just certain functions, design engineers are able to optimize them to cut down on the size and cost of the product while simultaneously improving its dependability and performance. Effective in-field detection and real-time management of malfunctioning Thermo Electric Modules (TEM) are essential components of the thermoelectric production system and must be present for the purpose of maximizing energy productivity (TEGs). According to the measurement criteria of faulty TEMs developed for series- parallel-connected TEM arrays and the control scheme based on TEM -oriented switches, autonomous and dispersed sensor nodes are proposed in this study to perform wireless TEM management. These nodes are designed to carry out wireless TEM management according to the series-parallel-connected TEM arrays' measurement standards for faulty TEMs. © 2023 ieee.

Star sensor is a widely used astrometric sensor, which is one of the important attitude sensors in spacecraft control systems. The multi-head star senor is the first sub-arc-second star sensor in-orbit. The key design and distinct characteristic are proposed, the consistency between orbit result and ground test is analyzed based on orbit and ground data. The result in orbit show that single head precision is higher than 1'' (30), and the fusion accuracy based on multi-head is better than 0.6 ''(3σ) the optical-axis angle error is lower than 2'', the SEA(sun excluded angle) is better than 26°. The star sensor can be used to military remote sensing satellite, astro observation with high precision and space science platform. © 2023 ieee.

distributed Machine Learning (DML) on resource-constrained edge devices holds immense potential for real-world applications. However, achieving fast convergence in DML in these heterogeneous environments remains a significant challenge. Traditional frameworks like Bulk Synchronous Parallel (BSP) and Asynchronous Stochastic Parallel (ASP) rely on frequent, small updates that incur substantial communication overhead and hinder convergence speed. Furthermore, these frameworks often employ static dataset sizes, neglecting the heterogeneity of edge devices and potentially leading to straggler nodes that slow down the entire training process. The straggler nodes, i.e., edge devices that take significantly longer to process their assigned data chunk – hinder the overall training speed. To address these limitations, this paper proposes Hermes, a novel probabilistic framework for efficient DML on edge devices. This framework leverages a dynamic threshold based on recent test loss behavior to identify statistically significant improvements in the model’s generalization capability, hence transmitting updates only when major improvements are detected, thereby significantly reducing communication overhead. Additionally, Hermes employs dynamic dataset allocation to optimize resource utilization and prevents performance degradation caused by straggler nodes. Our evaluations on a real-world heterogeneous resource-constrained environment demonstrate that Hermes achieves faster convergence compared to state-of-the-art methods, resulting in a remarkable 13.22x reduction in training time and a 62.1% decrease in communication overhead. © 2024 ieee.

Many cloud providers, including Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Alibaba Cloud, offer support for blockchain cloud services that rely on a runtime environment, such as the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), to execute smart contracts and ensure consistency between participants. However, existing runtime systems suffer from two main limitations. Firstly, traditional runtime systems like EVM cannot guarantee privacy protection as all the data uploaded to the blockchain is visible to all participants. This restricts the use of blockchain in limited scenarios. Secondly, each computation on the runtime system must be synchronized to all nodes in the network, resulting in a significant increase in computational overhead, which can be challenging to implement for more complex applications. One approach to address these limitations is to utilize Trusted Execution Environments (TEE) for blockchain runtime, which can provide privacy protection and mitigate redundant synchronization operations. However, using TEE for blockchain may significantly increase cloud costs. To overcome these challenges, this paper proposes PL-EVM, a new runtime environment for smart contracts that utilizes jointcloud. PL-EVM achieves high-security guarantees by using TEE to protect privacy-sensitive data and incorporates dynamic migration and splitting mechanisms to achieve high efficiency and low costs. Our evaluation results show that PL-EVM can improve performance and reduce costs by 4% to 32.22%.

Conventional and Non-Conventional Centralized power plants far from populations are utilized to generate electric power and this electric power transmits from generating stations to distribution stations over long distance. Distribution systems are generally radial and ring type. The use of radial distribution systems (RDS) is popular because they are straightforward, affordable, and only rely on a single feeder for supply when something goes wrong. Due to the unidirectional flow of electricity in RDS and the large r/x(resistance/reactance) ratio, huge voltage drops, poor Voltage Stability, and significant energy loss occur. distributed Generation (DG) is installed in the distribution network at the customer's end, but correct installation is necessary to maximize its size and allocation. Meta-heuristic techniques are applied to get solution of the optimize problem of DG site and size. Single as well as Multi-objective problem can be solved using meta-heuristic artificial intelligence techniques such as Enhanced Elephant Herding Optimization (EEHO) by using a load flow technique (Newton Raphson method) for placing small generating units in the distribution system. A Meta heuristic algorithm Elephant herding optimization (EHO) is based on herding behavior of elephants. Enhanced Elephant herding optimization (EEHO) is modified phase of EHO to improve inappropriate divergence towards origin of clan and improve its exploration and extraction aptitude by updating both clan and separating operators. © 2023 ieee.

Islanding detection is one of the vital events which needs to be taken care of for the desired operation, human protection, power quality deterioration and control of a microgrid system. Because of the complex nature of the distribution system, bidirectional power flows in the microgrid system, the islanding detection is not an easy task. This paper proposes a passive islanding detection technique based on the reciprocal of the sum of the individual magnitudes of the positive sequence and the negative sequence voltages at the desired location. The technique presented is simulated and tested for various test conditions such as faults on utility grid side as well as on the microgrid side, disconnection of a distributed generation system, etc. in MATLAB Simulink environment. © 2022 ieee.

Considering that distributed photovoltaic power stations connect to low voltage distribution network in situ. Small capacity of distributed photovoltaic power station access to the power grid can make voltage fluctuate when the photovoltaic array is affected by the illumination. In order to improve the voltage quality of the grid-connected point, from the perspective of hierarchical control, this paper uses SCADA to mark the collected electrical parameters as the pre-correction parameters, and the integrated control strategy is used to adjust the step-up transformer tap and the reactive power compensation device to form the outer control, so as to obtain the post-correction electrical parameters. The post-correction electricity parameter and inverter control constitute the inner control. Through the design of filters, step-up transformer, and parameters such as reactive power compensation device, in the simulation and calculation, the results show that the hierarchical control strategy can implement the automatic control of voltage reactive power regulation, using closed-loop control of inverter for the grid current track of grid voltage, ensure that the system did not produce resonance peak, To reduce the impact of grid voltage to current at the same time make the grid voltage and current with good sine degrees. © 2023 ieee.

The low-voltage distribution network is facing a situation of blowout, small capacity and decentralized distributed new energy access, with the emergence of large-scale power reverse transmission and frequent voltage fluctuations at station area level. However, power grid companies find it difficult to timely perceive real-time information of electricity generation and consumption within the station area, witch increasing the difficulty of operation control and management of the distribution network, and bringing adverse effects to safe, stable and economic power supply. Following the idea of edge computing, a real-time information acquisition and dispatching control method suitable for distribution station area with distributed new energy is proposed to realize the information interconnection and integration of local equipment at a lower cost, so that various adjustable resources can participate in the multi-level source network load interaction operation, and improve the comprehensive benefits of the distribution system in the station area. © 2023 ieee.

Cloud computing is a major area for conventional IT executions since it offers insignificant expense and admittance to 'pay-As-you-go' registering capacities and concerning requests by clients. The cloud offers systems, stages, and software through cloud climate models. There are numerous security-related issues in this domain. A distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack can be named a ' tsunami ' due to its devastating effect. DDoS attacks are a ceaseless danger to present-day organizations, causing serious business fiascos, client issues, and monetary misfortunes. This study utilizes a machine learning strategy named the Logistic Regression model to give security to servers working in a cloud climate against DDoS. This assists with giving security and is valuable in updating the strong advancement of associations. WEKA tool is used to develop a regression model. The data set used is NSL-KDD. The model helped categorize traffic as normal or anomaly with high accuracy and precision. © 2024 ieee.

Indirect tyre pressure monitoring system (ITPMS) can effectively reduce tyre blowouts risk and enhance high-speed vehicle operation safety, gradually emerging as a rapidly popular-ized on-board electronic control safety product. ITPMS imposes stringent requirements on the memory space and computational capabilities of embedded systems, particularly for cost-sensitive products such as Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). This paper proposes a method utilizing Recursive Least Squares (RLS) for natural frequency identification, transforming spatial requirements into iterative signal demands along the time dimension to mitigate memory usage. Additionally, a quasi-distributed computing architecture (QDCA) is proposed to distribute the natural frequency identifi-cation process across different time segments, thereby enhancing computational efficiency. During the trial and validation process, the proposed method is deployed within ABS. Experimental validation demonstrates that this method achieves equivalent monitoring accuracy while reducing memory usage by 11.2% and enabling natural frequency updates within 500ms. © 2024 ieee.
