As nonrenewable fuels deplete;most of the businesses are transitioning to renewable energy. Solar energy is a abundant in nature and is a reliable source of renewable energy. In today's photovoltaic systems, multiple inverters are employed to convert DC power to AC power. Because of the low harmonics and low leakage current levels, multilevel inverters are more efficient than full-bridge inverters. In the presented work, various types of grid-connected multi-level inverters are simulated and results are compared. According to the simulation output, the value of leakage current is lowest in the case of a 5-level transformer less multilevel grid-tied inverter. © 2022 ieee.

This study shows an electroencephalogram (EEG)-controlled smart home system designed to help the elderly, the crippled, and paralyzed individuals. For those who are paralyzed and experiencing mobility issues, it can be challenging to stay up with new technology improvements. Technologies for brain-computer interfaces provide a potential answer to this issue. This study demonstrates a brain-controlled, EEG signal-based home automation system that can assist persons who are physically challenged or paralyzed. A machine learning algorithm like the Random Forest algorithm, which is based on EEG signals, would be used in a home automation system for people with paralysis. To examine the brain's activity during the experiment, the EEG signal is retrieved. It can decipher brainwave patterns and transform them into instructions for operating various home appliances. The outcomes are consistent with the experiment's employment of the command, standby, focus, and running modes. The created solution is very likely to be employed in smart automation and is simple to apply in smart homes. © 2023 ieee.

Named Data Networking (NDN) is an exciting and potential Internet infrastructure focused on content. Furthermore, it should also accommodate various forms of traffic and their Quality of Service (QoS) specifications to make NDN's utility more widespread. In recent years, Vehicular sensor Network (VSN) have developed rapidly for sharing information, especially in safe and efficient driving. The Named Data Network does well in information retrieval with its in-network caching and named-based routing. Because of the transition from end-to-end communication to named-based communication, the replacement of cache to achieve QoS in Named Data Vehicular sensor Network (NDVSN) is critical. In this paper, we consider an NDVSN network and investigate priority caching algorithm (PBDCV) for improving QoS that relies on the priority of data based on safety and non-safety applications and dynamic cache with barrier adjustment partition. The study has been evaluated through simulations and found to outperform some traditional caching strategies in terms of cache hit and Quality of Service. © 2023 ieee.

Recent developments in computer networking have made it possible to access information from a faraway location via either wireless or wired networks. The recent advancements in wireless infrastructure are directly responsible for the advent of wireless sensor networks, often known as WSNs. These networks make it easier to keep track of environmental happenings and activities, as well as document them and manage them. In WSNs, data relaying is accomplished through the use of a variety of routing strategies. Industry 4.0, also known as the fourth industrial revolution, is characterized by the incorporation of highly developed physical automation systems. These systems are made up of several pieces of machinery and gadgets that are linked together by sensors and are operated by software. The goal of the fourth industrial revolution is to improve the effectiveness and dependability of business processes. The Internet of Things (IoT) can be leveraged in manufacturing, which gives a means of linking engines, power grids, and sensors to the cloud in an industrial context. This is accomplished through the use of Industrial IoT. The purpose of this paper is to gain an understanding of how the Internet of Things functions in wireless sensor networks and its possible applications in a variety of settings. © 2024 ieee.

Data gathering is a very fundamental use for wireless sensor networks. The area to be monitored has sensor units distributed. They can tell how much demand there is. Temperature, pressure, humidity, sun rays, and other factors could be involved. The detected data is sent to a centralized device called a sink or just a base station. Networks are frequently distributed in character, meaning that more than one kind of instrument is placed in a particular area. There is only one kind of component in uniform networks. A tree is created and anchored at the sink after the nodes have been distributed. In distributed networks, flawless aggregation is challenging to accomplish. In contrast to uniform networks, nodes may receive and transmit multiple types of packets. Every message should be forwarded by the node to a parent so that it can be combined in order to increase the likelihood of aggregation. As a result, a node might need to choose more than one progenitor. This implies that various parameters should be taken into account while forming trees. We have improved the literature's suggested combined distributed scheduling and tree generation for distributed networks. We discover that the expanded method maximizes aggregation, schedules the network with fewer time slots, and uses less energy. Additionally, it is discovered that distributed networks require more management costs to schedule than uniform networks do. © 2023 ieee.

In robotic swarms, nodes must cooperate in order to accomplish complex tasks. Robot interactions may occur at run-time based on the dynamic network topology and on mission-specific goals. For this reason, service discovery mechanisms are fundamental in order to inform each robot about the functionalities offered by the other peers. Although several network discovery protocols have been proposed so far, none of them fits the unique characteristics of robotic swarms in terms of dynamic topology, communication heterogeneity, and latency requirements. In this paper, we fill such gap by designing, implementing and evaluating a novel service discovery mechanisms for generic Robotic systems-of-systems (RSoS). The study proposes algorithmic and practical contributions. Regarding the first, we describe a novel distributed service discovery algorithm for RSoS which adapts to highly mobile robotic environments while limiting the network overhead and latency. Regarding the latter, we implemented the proposed algorithm within the Uhura swarm robotics framework;as a result, our solution is able to support multi-radio scenarios where robots are provided with heterogeneous Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication technologies. In addition, we validate our solution through large-scale simulations and a test-bed in which ground robots are able to discover a Federated Learning (FL) task and join it at run-time to improve the accuracy. © 2023 ieee.

In the upcoming 6G era, various end devices with data and computing resources can collaborate through federated learning (FL) to achieve the goal of ubiquitous intelligence. Inside any of those 'X' (i.e. everything) devices, however, a6G in-X subnetwork that wirelessly uploads training data from onboard sensors to an embedded access point (AP) may become a communication bottleneck during the process of FL. To support communication-efficient FL over in-X subnetworks, this paper proposes an adaptive sensor scheduling algorithm that jointly solves a queue stability problem and an age of information (AoI) optimization problem, based on Lyapunov optimization and MaxRatio scheduling methods. Simulations show that the proposed algorithm achieves higher FL accuracy, while guaranteeing queue stability at APs and better data freshness (quality) for data uploading over in-X subnetworks. © 2023 ieee.

In crowdsourced delivery organizations, where individual vehicles with shared common goals may have conflicting individual interests, the preference is for collaboration over competition, provided it is less costly. However, achieving a balance between the efficiency of individual vehicles and the overall fleet poses a challenge. This paper introduces a novel Vehicle Routing Problem with Fair Profits and Time Windows (VRP-FPTW), which aims to meet customer demand and stringent time windows while maximizing the profit of the worst-off vehicle in the fleet. We propose a centralized and distributed vehicle routing model for this problem, both with quality of solution guarantees. The distributed approach is tailored for multi-agent systems relying on a coordination mechanism where each vehicle modeled as an individually rational agent finds its route autonomously in coordination with a fleet coordinator agent, without sharing its private information. The objective of a vehicle agent is to maximize its own profit while following the fleet's norms and regulations based on shared values. Simulation experiments provide compelling evidence of the robustness and scalability of the proposed distributed approach, showcasing significant enhancements in both solution quality and computational efficiency, particularly when dealing with larger vehicle fleets. © 2023 ieee.

In this paper a perception system of a mobile robot is proposed and implemented combining a LiDAR sensor with a colour camera. Localisation of unknown objects in an a priori known environment and their classification is required in order for the robot to safely and reliably navigate the working area. To this end, a pipeline is proposed to process and fuse the LiDAR 3D point-cloud data with a monocular colour camera image classifications yielding precisely localised 3D detections with class designations. The proposed pipeline is designed to run on limited computational power embedded platforms in the ROS 2 environment, and has been tested on a robotic testbench. Copyright (c) 2024 The Authors. Environmental monitoring, industrial automation, and smart communities are among the numerous applications in which Wireless sensor Networks (WSN) are essential. Nevertheless, the effective management of energy and power resources continues to be a substantial obstacle, as sensor nodes are frequently deployed in large quantities and are battery-powered. This paper introduces the Power Optimized Routing Protocol (PORP), a novel cluster-based routing protocol that is intended to optimize energy and power consumption in WSN. The proposed scheme's efficacy is evaluated by cross-validating it with the conventional routing protocol, Dynamic Source Routing (DSR). The dynamic clustering mechanism that has been proposed in our protocol, PORP, minimizes energy consumption through intelligent methods of cluster formation and data aggregation. In this way, it further extends the network's lifecycle and reduces its average energy usage through energy-efficient and power-aware algorithms. We evaluated the effectiveness of our protocol through comprehensive simulation and compared our protocol with existing ones regarding energy efficiency, network lifetime, and data transmission reliability. The study proved to be very in-depth and comprehensive regarding the efficiency of the protocol, which highlighted the possibilities of the protocol's implementation with real-world WSN applications to ensure proper functioning of even more sustainable and efficient wireless sensor networks. © 2024 ieee.
