A Metaverse provides an immersive and linked experience for individuals similar to what is depicted in the book "Ready Player One". Experiences will be enabled by VR headsets, gaming systems, desktop computers, smartphones, etc., while there will likely emerge several metaverses which in turn will need interconnection. Thus, the Metaverse may be portrayed as a platform that utilizes networking to build an open ecosystem in which different platforms co-exist to serve all users. One key technology for the Metaverse is a distributed consensus system (DCS), underpinning a set of distributed applications, most notably for cryptocurrency and asset management in general, often characterized as blockchain-based trading platforms. But the use of DCSs is not limited to applications. We assert that for a true Metaverse experience, and to prevent metaverse silos, there will need to be DCS-based security between the various metaverse platforms interconnected by the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP). Key for such security is the permissionless notion in its participation to enable a truly open ecosystem, while also addressing key performance aspects such as low latency across the various interconnections. This position paper highlights various opportunities for integrating DCSs with BGP in order to provide a secure and interoperable Metaverse architecture, and we propose a BGP Blockchain system as one area for additional BGP route security. We further propose the necessary elements needed in order to address key performance aspects in such a BGP Blockchain environment. © 2023 ieee.

Wireless sensor Networks (WSNs) are pivotal in modern applications, yet challenges such as energy efficiency and network lifetime remain critical. This paper proposes a Dynamic Energy-Efficient Clustering Algorithm (DEECA) utilizing hybrid metaheuristics combining Egret Swarm Optimization and Genetic Algorithms. The proposed method dynamically selects cluster heads and optimizes clustering based on node energy, distance, and traffic conditions. Simulations were conducted on diverse WSN scenarios to evaluate energy consumption, network lifetime, packet delivery ratio, and throughput. Results demonstrate that DEECA outperforms traditional algorithms such as LEACH, HEED, and PSO by achieving a 20% increase in network lifetime and a 15% improvement in packet delivery ratio. Visual analyses include energy consumption trends, coverage heatmaps, and multi-metric radar plots. The findings validate DEECA's capability to enhance energy efficiency and scalability in WSNs, offering a robust framework for real-world deployments in resource-constrained environments. © 2024 ieee.

As the world population ages and the frequency of chronic diseases grows, it will become more crucial to discover effective healthcare solutions to guarantee that people may live healthy, productive lives. The possibility of deploying Internet of Things (IoT)-based remote health surveillance devices has gained considerable attention. This concept has the potential to improve homecare for those with chronic diseases and the elderly, while cutting healthcare costs and lessening the pressure on hospital systems. This study analyses the potential of Internet of Things (IoT) applications in healthcare settings and provides an IoT Tiered Architecture (IoTTA) for transforming sensor output data into direct clinical input. This strategy takes into consideration several activities, including sensing, transmitting, processing, storing, mining, and learning. In IoT healthcare application development, this strategy may be used to give efficient and useful solutions. Data mining, self-care, and machine learning are the fastest-growing subfields of IoT applications in healthcare, according to the report. © 2023 ieee.

The practical result of this work is the development of a generalized mathematical model for determining the position of an environmental pollutant. Computer simulation was carried out in order to verify the developed mathematical model. A number of computational experiments were conducted to verify the mathematical model. In the future, the developed algorithm is proposed to be used for real ground air quality measurement stations with additional use of air quality information from satellite data and specify the location of the pollution source using the Urban Atlas. © 2023 ieee.

We present DeLiBA-K, an improved version of the Development of Linux Block I/O Accelerators (DeLiBA) framework. DeLiBA-K operates at the Linux kernel level, bypassing the user-space interactions of DeLiBA-1 and -2 to interact with the block and network I/O kernel stack directly. Another critical feature of DeLiBA-K is implementing and benchmarking the modern io_uring Asynchronous I/O (AIO) API within a 16nm AMD Alveo U280 FPGA I/O framework. This allows for better parallelism and reduced latency in I/O operations. Our results show significant performance gains, up to a 3.2x improvement in I/O operations per second (IOPS) and 3.45x increased throughput for synthetic workloads. Real-world applications see a 30% reduction in execution time for data-intensive tasks. DeLiBA-K has been successfully tested in an industrial environment using real workloads, demonstrating its effectiveness in large-scale enterprise environments. © 2024 ieee.

Due to the intricate operational mechanisms of various renewable energy sources within existing microgrid systems, fluctuations in output or load power and frequency instability are prone to occur, this study proposes a collaborative frequency control strategy based on digital twin strategy with depth deterministic strategy gradient (DDPG). Firstly, the utilization of the DDPG algorithm in microgrid systems is analyzed, and the network parameters of the strategy are planned accordingly. Secondly, real-time data from the AC microgrid is collected through a sensor network. Finally, the DDPG algorithm model is trained to create a new intelligent algorithm engine for microgrid frequency control. Compared to simulations driven by the digital twin, the DDPG-based control strategy presented in this study enhances the control accuracy of the digital twin system for AC microgrids and accelerates convergence speed. © 2024 ieee.

In modern days, with the fastest growing technology trends, the benefits of Wireless sensor Networks (WSNs) are also increasing rapidly. In these networks, very small-sized wireless sensor nodes are used widely which are capable of sensing and doing computations. These sensor nodes are resource-limited in nature i.e., they have limited storage capacity, power supply, computation capability, bandwidth, etc. WSNs are mostly used in outdoor application areas like environmental monitoring, land mines detections or different military applications where the power supply to the sensor nodes does the major role. In these applications, without any external power supply, the sensor nodes run the whole network by collecting data from its surroundings and also communicate these data to the end-user. Hence, conserving energy for the sensor nodes is one of the most challenging tasks in WSNs. In this paper, we have done detailed study on the existing literature which are proposed with the objective to improve the energy efficiency issue in WSNs. Here, we have selectively highlighted some of the recently proposed methodologies to understand the present research scenario. We have also shown comparative analysis on the techniques and tools which are used to propose these works and their variation of the results are discussed accordingly. © 2023 ieee.

In this paper, we proposed to develop a weight measurement system by using bend sensors and a linear compression spring. In the proposed system, a bend sensor is mounted vertically to a linear compression spring. The free end of the bend sensor is attached to the top end and the other end having electrical connection is attached to the bottom end of the spring. The bend sensor is a flexible sensor whose resistance varies with the variation in bending radius of the curvature. The weight to be measured is applied on top of the pane placed on the compression spring. With the application of weight, the length of the compression spring will vary and hence this variation will vary the bending radius of the flex sensor. Thus, the variation in bending radius will introduce variation in the resistance of the bend sensor. Using resistance to voltage converter, the variation in resistance is converted to voltage. The signal conditioning circuit is used to process the output of resistance to voltage converter. Further, National Instruments Data Acquisition card NI USB-6001 is used to acquire the signal and transmit it to a personal computer in real time. The Graphical User Interface developed on LabVIEW platform hosted in personal computer displays the measured weight in real time. The advantages of the system are it's simple in design and low in cost. © 2023 ieee.

Air pollution remains a pressing global concern, with adverse health effects including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (CO PD) and an elevated risk of cancer. Particularly in metropolitan areas, vehicular emissions, accounting for 70% of total air pollution, pose a significant threat to public health. To address this issue, a research study has been developed to establish an integrated system for monitoring vehicle -related pollution. This system utilizes an Arduino interfaced with a PMS7003 sensor for PM2.5 dust particle measurement, an MQ -7 sensor for carbon monoxide (CO) detection, a NodeMC U for transmitting sensor data to a web server, and incorporates a buzzer and LCD for audio and visual feedback. Its primary goal is to furnish users with real - time air quality information, alerting them to potential health risks. The PMS7003 sensor gauges PM2.5 levels, known for their health implications, while the MQ -7 sensor detects CO emissions from combustion processes. In summary, this integrated system, combining various hardware components, empowers users with comprehensive air quality monitoring capabilities, enabling informed decisions and precautionary measures when air quality deteriorates. © 2023 ieee.

Wireless sensor Networks (WSN) plays a vital role in a wide area of applications, encompassing environmental assessment, healthcare, automated industrial system etc,. The limited energy of sensor nodes poses a significant challenge, as it makes it difficult to maintain the network's operation for an extended period and ensure reliable data transmission. To address this significant issue, this work proposes a new routing algorithm called the DS Evidence Theory-Based Energy Balanced Algorithm. The proposed algorithm adopts a distributed approach, where sensor nodes collaboratively form clusters based on their residual energy levels. Nodes then exchange information with neighbouring nodes to gather evidence related to energy levels and network topology. Employing Dempster's rule of combination, the algorithm fuses the collected evidence to calculate a belief measure for each node concerning its energy level. The crux of the algorithm lies in its energy balancing strategy, where cluster heads collaboratively redistribute energy among nodes within their clusters to achieve a balanced energy distribution throughout the network. Consequently, the network's lifetime is significantly enhanced, as no single node is excessively burdened, thus preventing early node failures. The primary objective of the proposed approach is to find the optimal next hop selection for efficient data transmission. From this work it is evident that sine membership function performs precise than triangular membership function. © 2024 ieee.
