Uniform Model Bus (UM-BUS) is a dynamically reconfigurable high-speed BUS with address reading and writing access to the internal functional units of Cyber-Physical System (CPS) nodes. It can connect multiple CPS nodes and realize resource scheduling and method implementation by master node. There are many types and forms of sensor function methods in CPS node. In order to eliminate the operation difference of method call and make the operation equipment more convenient for users, this paper designed the packaging scheme of sensor method. It uses UM-BUS to implement layer upon layer calls between methods and can operate sensor devices without knowing the internal mechanism of CPS nodes. The simulation platform was built under Linux system for testing, and the experimental results show that the scheme can complete the optimization and encapsulation of functional methods. © 2020 ieee.

Digital identities play a vital role in an increasingly digital world. These identities often rely on central authorities to issue and manage them. Central authorities have the drawback of being a central trusted party, representing a bottleneck and single point of failure with exclusive control of identity-related data. Self-sovereign identity (SSI) tackles those problems by utilizing distributed ledger technology and making users the sovereign owners of their identity data. Nevertheless, SSI, as recent technology, still lacks qualified identity data. This is especially a problem since sensitive services like eGovernment or banking services require identity data issued by a qualified identity provider; thus, SSI - based identities cannot be used for these services. In this paper, we propose a concept for deriving identity data from an existing identity system into an SSI in a fully privacy-preserving way by additionally supporting offline verification. This way, we enable a chain of trust from the existing identity system to the SSI system by introducing a novel trust model. Our concept utilizes novel cryptographic primitives to support efficient and privacy-preserving identity showing as well as revo-cation. To underline the feasibility of our concept, we implement a proof system and benchmark the related use cases.

Cloud storage services (e.g., Dropbox) have become pervasive in not only simple file sharing but also advanced collaborative file editing (collaboration for short). Using Dropbox for collaboration is much easier than SVN and Git, thus greatly facilitating common users. In practice, however, many Dropbox users are perplexed by unexpected collaboration conflicts, which severely impair their experiences. Through various benchmark experiments, we unveil the two root causes of collaboration conflicts: 1) Dropbox never locks an edited file during collaboration; 2) Dropbox only guarantees eventual data consistency among the collaborators, significantly aggravating the probability of conflicts. In this paper, we attempt to enable conflict-free collaborations with Dropbox-like cloud storage services. This attempt is empowered by three key findings and measures. First, although the end-to-end sync delay is unpredictable due to eventual consistency, we can always track the latest version of an edited file by actively resorting to the cloud via certain web APIs. Second, although all application-level data is encrypted in Dropbox, we can roughly deduce the sync status from traffic statistics. Third, applying a couple of useful mechanisms (e.g., distributed architecture and data lock) learned from Git, we can effectively and efficiently avoid collaboration conflicts-of course, this requires re-implementing Git mechanisms in cloud storage services with minimum overhead and user interference. Integrating above efforts, we build the ConflictReaper system capable of helping users automatically avoid almost all collaboration conflicts with affordable network and computation overhead.

The parameter server system (Parameter Server, PS) is the most widely used distributed machine learning system. Its core module is the communication module, which mainly includes three parts: communication content, communication frequency, and communication pace. The communication scheme of the existing PS system will have problems such as waste of computing power resources and a large proportion of communication overhead. This paper hopes to design and implement a distributed set that saves computing power and has a smaller communication overhead based on the communication module of the original PS system. This article mainly innovates in following aspects: First, through the analysis and experiment of Bulk Synchronous Parallel (BSP) communication pace, based on the superiority of BSP algorithm level, it overcomes the waste of computing power of BSP at the system level, and designs and implements a new set of Communication pace, the new communication pace under the same training task can save more computing power and achieve higher model accuracy. Secondly, this article combines the quantization compression technology with the parameter server system, and uses the quantization technology to compress and decompress the communication content in the parameter server system, so that the volume of the communication content during the operation of the parameter server system is significantly reduced, thereby reducing the communication overhead and improving Speedup ratio of the system. Finally, based on the analysis and experiment of the change trend of the model accuracy rate, this paper designs and implements a dynamic communication frequency adjustment scheme based on the change trend of the model accuracy rate, which reduces the overall communication frequency during the operation of the parameter server system and reduces the parameter server. High-quality designs of distributed systems and services are essential for our digital economy and society. Threatening to slow down the stream of working designs, we identify the mounting pressure of scale and complexity of (eco-)systems, of ill-defined and wicked problems, and of unclear processes, methods, and tools. We envision design itself as a core research topic in distributed systems, to understand and improve the science and practice of distributed (eco-)system design. Toward this vision, we propose the ATLARGE design framework, accompanied by a set of 8 core design principles. We also propose 10 key challenges, which we hope the community can address in the following 5 years. In our experience so far, the proposed framework and principles are practical, and lead to pragmatic and innovative designs for large-scale distributed systems.

Micro gas turbine technology is the core and key technology of energy and power systems in this century. Micro gas turbine generator sets have been widely used in distributed power generation systems and have become an important indicator of the advanced degree of national industrial foundation. In order to ensure the safe and stable operation of the distributed power generation system, the fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant control research of the micro gas turbine are very important. This paper selects the TIOO single-axis micro gas turbine as the research object, designs a fault diagnosis method based on BP neural network for the failure of the sensor, and conducts the integrated verification of the model and algorithm on the full digital simulation platform. © 2020 ieee.

As an important traditional culture in China, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) not only represents the characteristics of Chinese medical science, but also highlights the advantages of independent innovation. In recent years, the rapid growth of TCM medical record data has accelerated the digitalization and informatization of medical information. The traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment platform is often trapped in the dilemma of high data reading and storage delay and inability to effectively visualize the data in big data processing, and its computing efficiency and system practicability cannot be significantly improved. A distributed collaborative Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment platform is proposed in this paper, which is controlled by the STM32F407 series microcontroller, supplemented by ADS1292 module to measure ECG signal and TFTLCD LCD display. In the platform, the data is transmitted to the system server through WIFI module, and the MySQL technology combined with java is used to develop the system web side. The doctor can consult with the patient face to face and view the patient’s condition in real time through the web terminal. The collected ECG signal is displayed on the consultation interface through the pulse rate and the recovered pulse rate graph. Through the measurement of the module and the interaction on the web side, this paper can better simulate the "look", "smell", "ask" and "cut" way of diagnosis and treatment. The paper is able to simulate the "look", "smell", "ask" and "cut" methods of diagnosis and treatment, and realise remote Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment.

Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems are commonly found at National Critical Infrastructures that provide necessary cyber-enable services (e.g., energy) for society. In state-of-art SCADA systems, the physical process is monitored by field sensors, which transmit data to a SCADA master. In general, SCADA communication protocols lack proper security mechanisms to protect the integrity and security of field sensors. Thus field sensors are commonly vulnerable to standard cyber-attacks, e.g., data and identity spoofing. Field sensors are low-end devices, and state-of-art crypto solutions are not suitable. In this paper, we discuss a novel lightweight hardware-based security mechanism, namely, Physical Unclonable Functions (PUFs). We introduce an SRAM-based PUF mechanism, which then we use to design an SRAM PUF Authentication and Integrity (SPAI) protocol. The SPAI protocol aims to ensure the integrity of data flow and protect the identity of field sensors. A prototype of the protocol has been implemented in a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B, an SRAM, and a temperature sensor. We describe how a SCADA system emulation is vulnerable to a man-in-the-middle attack using standard eavesdropping techniques. Then we show how our proposed SPAI protocol can prevent the man-in-the-middle attack through the embedded PUF mechanism. © 2020 ieee.

The human affective state is a product of complex biological processes and environmental stimuli. Situation aware systems aim at identifying the affective state of an individual using data from a gamut of connected devices. The bottle necks for such systems include continuous data streams , mobility of the data collection apparatus, device ubiquity and the device cost. While there is research done using physiological sensors that can overcome these challenges, their accuracy is often dismal and the results are not granular, i.e. the affective state is singular. In this paper we present results from an experiment that enabled us to generate models to identify an individuals affective state as a mixture of emotional states and their respective activation's. Secondly, we show that the affective state of an individual is actually a mixture of emotional states ( amusement, anger, neutral, sad, fear and disgust). During an experimental study, 85 participants were induced with specific emotions using audio-visual stimulus. Physiological data including heart rate, blood volume pressure (BVP), inter beat interval(IBI) and electrodermal activity(EDA) along with a self-report indicating the levels of 6 emotional states that include Amusement, Anger, Sad, Disgust, Fear and Neutral was recorded. Additionally, we recorded a self-reported score for Anxiety. The videos used to induce emotions were validated in a recently published study in Psychology. The data collected was used to create models that identify the dominant emotional state and the emotional spectrum (activation levels of all emotional states) for an individual. We create a map between the physiological data and the dominant emotional state and also between physiological data and the self-report scores. In addition, we identify often overlooked characteristics of human emotion such as variability in perception.

MMS or mobile mapping systems is an integrated system consisting of various sensors such as Cameras, LIDAR, IMU and GPS modules fitted on the top of a mobile platform (usually a car) and is used to get accurate situational awareness of the environment around the vehicle. It acquires 3D information of road surfaces, signage, guard rails, lettering on road surfaces, manholes, and buildings surrounding the road while the vehicle is travelling. It also makes 3D GIS (Geographic Information Science) map data and subsequently makes vehicle motion model simulation so as to achieve safe driving and generation of maps for development purposes. But in the case of a UAV, the process of getting the sensor information becomes complex as pitch, roll and yaw motion of the drone are involved (unlike a car). So, in order to accurately understand, interpret and visualise the data, we perform calibration (Bore sight, Level arm and Time delay) of all the sensors present on board. This helps to reduce the biases present in the data to a minimum and helps to get accurate information about the environment. In this paper, we have presented Level arm calibration and a novel technique for Bore sight calibration of sensors on-board a UAV. We have also shown the difference in estimated and ground truth trajectory which arises due to improper calibration. © 2020 ieee.
