Multi-Agent Path Finding (MAPF) is essential to large-scale robotic systems. Recent methods have applied reinforcement learning (RL) to learn decentralized polices in partially observable environments. A fundamental challenge of obtaining collision-free policy is that agents need to learn co-operation to handle congested situations. This paper combines communication with deep Q-learning to provide a novel learning based method for MAPF, where agents achieve cooperation via graph convolution. To guide RL algorithm on long-horizon goal-oriented tasks, we embed the potential choices of shortest paths from single source as heuristic guidance instead of using a specific path as in most existing works. Our method treats each agent independently and trains the model from a single agent’s perspective. The final trained policy is applied to each agent for decentralized execution. The whole system is distributed during training and is trained under a curriculum learning strategy. Empirical evaluation in obstacle-rich environment indicates the high success rate with low average step of our method.

The release of the information system version poses a certain risk to the normal operation of the system. Based on the information system micro service architecture, this paper studies the entrusted management of the information system according to the EDAs gray level table under different gray levels, and provides all-round solutions in combination with the different needs of system development, configuration, monitoring, operation and maintenance, so as to effectively improve the core computing capability of the platform under the micro service architecture and realize the online release and loss free return of the system, Reduce system release risk and improve system service quality.

Wireless sensor Networks (WSNs) are deployed over a specific area to monitor a range of environmental and physical phenomena. WSNs are known by their limitation in term of energy, memory, and computing capability. Therefore, these sensors need effective wireless communication protocols in terms of energy efficiency, ease of deployment, and low latency. LEACH is the principle routing algorithm adopted today for WSN data transmission. It is the origin of a variety of self-organizing clustering-based routing protocol. Data communication is the main source of energy losses beside but to a lesser extent data processing. The actual research is a step by step follow of LEACH focusing into the energy dissipation in various stages. The simulation of the protocol is accomplished through a MATLAB implementation to clarify the dissipation process. Nodes die after the residual energy has reached a minimum allowed threshold necessary for sensor functionality as part of the WSN. LEACH shows good performances but requires improvement in the cluster head selection stage by the use optimization techniques.

Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) consists of health and environmental sensing nodes and a dedicated hub. The hub has more processing power and capabilities than the sensor nodes. It collects sensing data and forwards them to corresponding destinations for further processing and actions. In case of emergencies, the hub delivers the received data to the emergency department to take quick action. The end-to-end link between the sensor node and the emergency department mainly depends on the sensor node's bottleneck link and the hub. WBAN nodes communicate with the hub by accessing the physical communication channel in a randomly distributed fashion. Random channel access may cause retransmission of corrupted frames due to frame collisions. This causes performance degradation of the deployed WBAN. The ieee 802.15.6 standard specified eight different user priorities for different traffic types. Among these priorities, priority seven is dedicated to reporting emergency and medical implant events. If several nodes report at this priority, this causes lower priority nodes to starve. In this work, we allow nodes to switch from lower priorities to priority seven in emergencies. We conducted several experiments to study the effects of priority seven on other nodes in normal operations and emergencies. The study results showed that the packet delivery rate is severely affected when some nodes switch from normal user priority to priority seven. More studies and investigations need to be conducted to determine the optimum operation of WBAN, especially in the case of an emergency.

This paper introduces and justifies (through an n=210 online human subject study) Deconstructed Trustee Theory, a theory of human robot trust that factors the representation of trustee into robot body and robot identity in order to differentially model perceived trustworthiness of robot body and identity. This theory predicts (a) that different levels of trustworthiness can be attributed to a robot body and a robot identity, (b) that divergence between levels of perceived trustworthiness of body and identity may be effected by communication policies that reveal the potential for phenomena such as re-embodiment, co-embodiment, and agent migration in multi-robot systems, and (c) that perceived trustworthiness of body and identity may further diverge and be refined through moral cognitive processes triggered on observation of blameworthy actions. Current work in the field of smart contracts is primarily aimed at developers and directly connected to an underlying cryptocurrency. Those self-enforcing contracts are suitable for financial applications, but often disregard regular agreements that do not rely on digital money or are difficult to specify in the form of program code. In order to promote social interaction and self-organization for all types of users, we present Fides, a framework for creating contracts based on natural language that focuses on security and privacy. The use of natural language, detached from the actual payment process, allows everyone to create digital contracts inside a decentralized peer-to-peer network without relying on an inefficient Blockchain solution. These agreements are not only intended for interactions between humans, but can also be established between devices by automation.

Tracking students' attendance is a regular occurrence in most academic environments. The manual and semiautomated attendance systems are quite time-consuming, inefficient, as well as lacking in security. Thus, the objective of this research is to develop an efficient and secure attendance system that could be beneficial for all educational institutes. As outcomes, an integrated, embedded and fully automated attendance system is developed that makes the use of edge and cloud computing, biometric sensors, and real-time cloud database. The developed system was evaluated with 15 participants in a laboratory environment and found that the proposed system is comparatively more efficient, secure and propitious for educational institutes in tracking attendance. © 2020 ieee.

Oil and gas pipelines are known as the backbone of global energy, and securing their safety is crucial for energy supply. In this study, we utilized a novel machine learning method based on the spatiotemporal features of distributed optical fiber sensor signals to monitor the safety of oil and gas pipelines in real time. Encouraging empirical results on a large amount of data collected from real sites confirmed that our model could accurately locate and identify the damage events of a pipeline in real time under strong noise and various hardware conditions, and could effectively handle the signal drift problem. Furthermore, as a generalized tool, the proposed solution could be applied to other industrial inspection fields.

Low-latency stream processing applications (SPA) distribute the event streams on parallel instances of the application’s operators to avoid queuing. Each operator has a set of processing nodes for its instances. Edge and fog infrastructures promise, among other things, low communication latency and are thus of interest for low-latency SPAs. Yet, they include heterogeneous, even volatile nodes which makes the parallel processing of SPAs challengingAvailable solutions for parallel SPAs often assume homogeneity and stable ***, we aim to balance the stream processing among heterogeneous, instable infrastructures using a decentralized control mechanism. We propose a decentralized, dynamic, and lightweight approach to re-balance SPA-load according to the nodes current performance, while minimizing latencies. In doing so, we introduce the Coda-EFC framework for window-based stream processing on heterogeneous distributed infrastructures. It dynamically adapts its load balancing to node performance without computing quickly outdated schedules and aims for latency-optimal load balancing. We introduce two adaptive load balancing strategiesone tailored for heterogeneous, dynamic infrastructures, the other an adaptation of a state-of-the art approach.
