The rapid evolution of Internet of Things (IoT) environments has created an urgent need for secure and trust-worthy distributed computing systems, particularly when dealing with heterogeneous devices and applications where centralized trust cannot be assumed. This paper proposes TrustMesh, a novel blockchain-enabled framework that addresses these challenges through a unique three-layer architecture combining permissioned blockchain technology with a novel multi-phase Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance (PBFT) consensus protocol. The key innovation lies in TrustMesh's ability to support non-deterministic scheduling algorithms while maintaining Byzantine fault tolerance, features traditionally considered mutually exclusive in blockchain systems. The framework supports a sophisticated resource management approach that enables flexible scheduling decisions while preserving the security guarantees of blockchain-based verification. Our experimental evaluation using a real-world cold chain monitoring scenario demonstrates that TrustMesh successfully maintains Byzantine fault tolerance with fault detection latencies under 150 milliseconds, while maintaining consistent framework overhead across varying computational workloads even with network scaling. These results establish TrustMesh's effectiveness in balancing security, performance, and flexibility requirements in trustless IoT environments, advancing the state-of-the-art in secure distributed computing frameworks. © 2025 ieee.

In order to improve the precision and efficiency of fault diagnosis of distributed photovoltaic (PV) systems, an efficient fault diagnosis model is constructed by combining the classification ability of support vector machine and the advantages of distributed computing. The analysis results show that the model has a classification accuracy of 97.6%, a recall of 96.5% and an F1 value of 96.8% on the experimental dataset, which can adapt to a variety of operating states and fault scenarios, and maintains a high diagnostic performance under the condition of multiple fault superposition, with a classification accuracy of 91.8%-94.2%, demonstrating a strong applicability and robustness, and providing a reliable technological support for the intelligent operation and maintenance of PV systems. With the high proportion of new source loads such as distributed power sources, electric vehicles, and energy storage, as well as the rapid development of new models and formats such as microgrids, integrated energy, and virtual power plants, the distribution network is gradually transforming from a power network that simply receives and distributes electricity to users to a power network that integrates source grid load storage interaction and flexibly couples with the higher-level power grid. In recent years, State Grid Economic and Technological Research Institute has focused on original technology research and development in the field of distribution networks, fully supporting the construction of original technology source areas. It has developed a distribution network simulation calculation and analysis platform with completely independent intellectual property rights, supporting the construction of new distribution systems in multiple regions. The development of new source loads may lead to local concentration and overall imbalance, resulting in significant differences in load rates between different regions and lines of the distribution network. This often leads to issues of insufficient or unusable equipment capacity, which is not conducive to improving the overall quality and efficiency of the distribution network. The State Grid Economic and Technological Research Institute, in collaboration with the United Nations Grid Tianjin Electric Power Company, has established a flexible interconnection technology system for distribution networks, developed the world's first set of corresponding flexible interconnection power electronic equipment, and implemented it in the Beichen National Industry City Integration Demonstration Zone in Tianjin. Attackers are continuously enhancing their techniques to attack confidential data. Thus, the classical security solutions based on cryptography and older detection systems must be revised, especially for a network dataset. Wireless sensor networks (WSN) consist of several smart devices distributed randomly in hostile areas with many restrictions, such as low operational time, short memory and minimal energy resources, and are susceptible to numerous attacks, such as Denial-of-Service (DoS). Recently, intrusion detection based on artificial intelligence models has provided an alternative and efficient solution with low computational resources. Therefore, the present study provides an innovative approach for detecting DoS attacks in the network using machine learning. Three machine learning methods, such as Support Vector Machine (SVM), K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) and decision tree, were implemented with a well-known WSN-DS data specialized for DoS attacks. The performance of the models has been evaluated using standard metrics like accuracy, precision, F1-score and recall. The experimental results demonstrated the effectiveness of the KNN model after achieving the highest accuracy of 99.76% in DoS detection. Thus, the present study's approach can be used in real-time intrusion detection. © 2025 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

Fire presents a serious risk to life and can be triggered by various factors across different environments. In some areas, the absence of fire detection systems is often due to the high initial investment costs, particularly when the need for such systems is temporary. To tackle this issue, we propose a portable fire detection system as an innovative solution. This system features sensors that monitor for fire outbreaks and alert authorities. A key challenge to its adoption is the limitation on power consumption. To mitigate this, we have developed a custom microcontroller board designed for a low-power, battery-operated portable fire detection system, which has been field-tested. A thorough power analysis of the system has been conducted, revealing a sensor battery life of 62 days. This paper details the design features and presents the findings of the power analysis performed.

This study proposes a collaborative design platform based on BIM and cloud computing, combined with an innovative real-time synchronization algorithm, to solve the problems of delay, data consistency and synchronization conflict in cloud collaborative design. The proposed real-time synchronization algorithm is based on a distributed computing model. By introducing a distributed lock and timestamp mechanism, it effectively guarantees the data consistency and real-time performance in large-scale collaborative design, and can reduce data conflicts and improve collaborative efficiency when multiple design teams operate in parallel. In order to verify the effectiveness of the platform, this study conducted experiments in multiple architectural design projects, and the platform runs in mainstream cloud computing environments (such as AWS and Azure). The experimental results show that the collaborative design platform based on the innovative algorithm has significant advantages over traditional collaborative design tools in terms of synchronization delay, data transmission speed and number of concurrent users. When multiple design teams collaborate, the design cycle of the platform is shortened by 15 %, the overall work efficiency is improved by more than 20 %, and it can maintain stability and low response time in a high concurrent user environment. In addition, the platform's real-time rendering and version control mechanism also significantly improve the design quality and accuracy.

Photonic integrated circuits provide compact and efficient solutions for multimodal spectroscopic sensors. However, the resulting sensory data is highly complex and contains significant redundancy. To circumvent high communication cost for redundancy, the photonic sensor and processor are brought into intimacy and propose a photonic multimodal edge computing system. A microring resonator crossbar is used as photonic processor with 5-bit accuracy. The in-situ processing of sensory data is demonstrated in this system, achieving a classification accuracy of 94.27% across 45 different classes. The multimodal edge computing system demonstrates the feasibility of integrating photonic processors and photonic sensors to enhance the photonic data processing capability.

Neuromorphic sensors using piezoelectric MEMS resonators developed by adapting physical reservoir computing (PRC) algorithm. The device has two resonators with a resonant frequency of about 1 kHz, which is in the audible range. To fabricate the resonators, we used (100) BiFeO 3 epitaxial thin films because it has moderate relative permittivity (~100) and piezoelectric coefficient (~-4 C/m 2 ), which are advantageous for both high sensitivity and miniaturization. The fabricated device demonstrates the prediction of exclusive OR (XOR) values of random binary data that requires nonlinearity and short-term memory. These results suggest the potential feasibility of neuromorphic acoustic sensors.

Ultrasonic distance estimation sensor and Lidar micro sensor have been employed in the proposed obstacle detection and collision avoidance method for the computation of the distance between the Micro Aerial Vehicle and the obstacle. This study compares the distance estimating capabilities of ultrasonic sensors and LIDAR for MAV collision avoidance. When calculating RMSE and MAE for error estimates in distance measurement using an ultrasonic sensor, the results were 3.46 and 1.22, respectively. When calculating RMSE and MAE for error estimates in distance measurement using a LIDAR sensor, the corresponding results were 6.35 and 4.91. © 2025 ieee.
