Checkpointing (or snapshotting) a system's state has always been a problem of great interest and has found a lot of use in ensuring system reliability, record-replay debugging, job migration and running high-throughput transaction systems. In the last few years ultra-fast hardware-assisted NVM-based checkpointing schemes have come up that can collect incremental full-system checkpoints in milliseconds. Unfortunately, such systems have large overheads in terms of their write amplification (increased number of writes). This, in turn, seriously reduces the reliability and lifetime of NVM devices. We propose the first tunable scheme in this space, JASS, where given a checkpoint latency (CL), we near-optimally minimize the write amplification (WA). This allows us to run parallel programs in a disciplined fashion. To realize this goal, we propose many novel hardware along the way such as a rigorous method of flushing pre-checkpoint messages in the NoC, a novel DRAM scrubber and locality predictor, and a control-theoretic algorithm to guarantee a CL while minimizing the WA. We reduce WA by 35-96% as compared to the nearest state-of-the-art competing method and improve performance of PARSEC benchmarks by 19.4%.

In practical applications, sensors may encounter disturbances that result in the measurement of outliers, leading to abnormal data. Therefore, when performing distributed fusion estimation for time-varying discrete systems with multiple sensors, it is assumed that the noise is bounded and contains outliers, and the goal is to estimate the true state of the system. The improved set-membership filtering algorithm is used to filter the bounded noise with outliers. The design of local filters involves transmitting the local estimates from each sensor to the fusion center. Considering the integrity and accuracy of information, an improved Minkowski sum algorithm is adopted to achieve global estimation. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed multi-sensor robust distributed fusion is verified through a simulation example. © 2023 ieee.

Microgrids are low-voltage distribution network which comprise of controllable loads and distributed energy resources (DERs) that can be used in an isolated or grid-connected mode. The microgrid energy management system (EMS) is the hardware or software components used to efficiently operate microgrid energy resources by scheduling commitments for on-demand distributed generation units energy storage systems, energy imports and controllable loads to meet specific goals. Reliability, stability, and efficiency in microgrids are dependent upon effective energy management. The utilization of optimization techniques is crucial in accomplishing these goals. The optimization process present in the paper stores or sells energy battery system based on anticipated costs and load profile. The linear programming (LP) optimization approach minimize operating costs of microgrid for a sunny and cloudy day while maintaining the operational restrictions using MATLAB 2020. The results shows that on a cloudy day the cost of microgrid is 46.9% increased as compared to a sunny day. © 2024 ieee.

Underwater Wireless sensor Network (UWSN) includes a numerous number of sensors positioned in oceans and rivers to observe in underwater environment. Though, underwater sensors are limited for energy and that is tedious for replacing a battery, resulted in energy efficient is main problem. For clustering and routing, in this research proposed a Wandering Strategy - Sand Cat Swarm optimization (WS-SCSO) algorithm which enhanced network lifetime. The WS-SCSO algorithm selects the appropriate Cluster Head (CH) for network and then generates a cluster. Then, by using WS-SCSO algorithm identifies a suitable route for nodes that transmits a data. The proposed algorithm enhances a network lifetime with less energy consumption. The evaluation metrics used to evaluate proposed algorithm are alive nodes, dead nodes, total energy consumption and packet delivery ratio. The proposed algorithm attained less energy consumption of 3% at 200 rounds, 7% at 400 rounds, 18% at 600, 31% at 800 rounds and 55% at 1000 rounds which is effective than previous optimization algorithms like Improved Metaheuristics based Clustering with Multihop Routing protocol (IMCMR-UWSN). © 2024 ieee.

The research found that traditional strength training and proprioception stimulation training can enhance muscle strength to a certain extent. The use of electrical stimulation has a more significant effect on enhancing muscle function. However, the application of electric stimulation insole is still affected by current control, stimulation value, stimulation time and other parameters, which makes research difficult and becomes a recent research hotspot of international scholars. Therefore, this paper discusses the relevant principles of the noumenon sensing electric stimulation insole based on the flexible sensor array, conducts electrical stimulation on the basis of noumenon sensing stimulation, and studies its impact on the lower limb muscle function on this basis, so as to enhance the muscle strength and coordination control ability of athletes, and provide scientific and technological support for athletes to prevent injury, improve sports performance and improve sports performance, It also provides a new training method for lower limb strength training (especially plantar muscle training). © 2023 ieee.

Low-power operation of power-hungry MOX sensors is usually achieved by duty cycling them periodically. However, a difficulty arises if a sensor is operated at irregular time intervals due to intermittent energy availability in energy-neutral or batteryless applications. In this work, we propose a compensation method which re-maps on-demand measurements to virtually duty-cycled readings in the value domain by taking the duration of the last off-time into account. We evaluate our compensation algorithm based on Sensirion's SGP30 sensor and achieve up to 79% accuracy improvement compared to uncompensated measurements.

Together, the Internet of Things (IoT) and cognitive computing have revolutionized the agricultural industry by enabling the implementation of intelligent husbandry systems. Investigating the creation and use of an Internet of Things-enabled smart husbandry system that leverages cognitive computing techniques is the aim of this study. The system includes detectors to gather data on environmental factors like crop health, soil temperature, and humidity in real-time. After that, a centralized platform receives these data. This data is processed by algorithms used in cognitive computing to give growers useful insights like optimal irrigation timing and early detection of crop issues. The application of this method raises agricultural operations' productivity and enhances decision-making processes' effectiveness. This study covers the following topics: the system's armature;the choice and incorporation of Internet of Things bias;the use of cognitive computing models;and the assessment of system performance in actual agricultural scripts. The results show how cognitive computing and the Internet of Things (IoT) may revolutionize traditional husbandry methods into data-driven, intelligent husbandry systems.

Mobile wireless sensor networks are crucial in several applications, such as environmental monitoring, disaster management, and military surveillance. Nevertheless, utilizing these devices in remote and hostile settings presents distinct obstacles that can result in node failures and subsequent disruption of community connectivity. Thus, fault tolerance is crucial for guaranteeing the dependability and resilience of MWSNs. This technical brief proposes fault-tolerant routing techniques for Mobile Wireless sensor Networks (MWSNs) to mitigate the impact of node failures and ensure reliable information delivery. Initially, we develop a distributed clustering algorithm that partitions the network into smaller clusters. Each cluster is led by a selected cluster head responsible for aggregating and transmitting data. During a node failure, the cluster head can redirect and establish a connection with the lower station by utilizing other pathways. In addition, we propose a routing strategy that utilizes mobility to allow nodes to bypass intermediate stations and directly connect to the base station in case of hyperlink failures or unavailability of cluster heads. © 2024 ieee.

Using cutting edge technology, nations all around the world are working to improve agricultural sustainability. Achieving water-use efficiency and being in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially Goal 6 and Target 6.4, need improving irrigation systems. In order to accomplish these goals, this article emphasizes the need of SMART irrigation, using the Internet of Things (IoT) and sensing systems. The study highlights the vital role that automated irrigation systems play in preserving water resources through the use of secondary data and a qualitative methodology. Agricultural techniques become more efficient and successful when IoT and automation are included;this increases sustainability overall. sensory systems lessen their negative effects on the environment, increase resource conservation, and help farmers understand their crops better. These technologies make it possible to monitor soil and weather conditions effectively, which facilitates appropriate water management. Irrigation system optimization is acknowledged, and ongoing research and development are encouraged to improve sustainability and lower expenses. Additionally, the study examines the drawbacks and advantages of sensory-based irrigation systems, providing scholars and farmers with important information to enhance irrigation methods and practices. © 2024 ieee.
