In recent years, due to the rapid development of computer vision technology, real-time detection and tracking of objects using computer vision has become a hot topic. Object detection mainly consists of two parts: object segmentation and object recognition, that is, object acquisition. Accurate detection of targets is the key to achieving high-precision and high-efficiency tracking. Based on the above discussion, this article explored the target detection and tracking of survey robots using the multimodal Internet of Things (IoT) sensor data fusion of YOLOv5, and compared and analyzed the performance of direct frame difference method, traditional ORB method, and the algorithm in this paper through experiments. The results indicated that the accuracy and recall of the robot image object detection algorithm proposed in this paper were both above 90%, and higher than other algorithms, indicating that the algorithm has extremely high accuracy in object detection. © 2024 ieee.

The article is devoted to fixed-time (FXT) output optimization for multi-agent systems (MASs) by proposing distributed piecewise protocols. Firstly, the FXT tracking of the agent states is ensured by introducing an auxiliary variable for each agent. Then, under the out information of agents and the strong convexity of cost functions, a distributed piecewise algorithm is developed, which indicates that the FXT distributed output optimization is solved by first realizing local optimization for each agent and then achieving global output optimization. In addition, a more relaxed condition for FXT distributed optimization is derived and a more precise estimate for the optimization time is obtained. Finally, the proposed optimization algorithm is further illustrated via numerical results. © 2023 ieee.

Modern high-end systems are increasingly becoming heterogeneous, providing users options to use general purpose Graphics Processing Units (GPU) and other accelerators for additional performance. High Performance computing (HPC) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications are often carefully arranged to overlap communications and computation for increased efficiency on such platforms. This has led to efforts to extend popular communication libraries to support GPU awareness and more recently, GPU-initiated operations. In this paper, we present Intel SHMEM, a library that enables users to write programs that are GPU aware, in that API calls support GPU memory, and also support GPU-initiated communication operations by embedding OpenSHMEM style calls within GPU kernels. We also propose thread-collaborative extensions to the OpenSHMEM standard that can enable users to better exploit the strengths of GPUs. Our implementation adapts to choose between direct load/store from GPU and the GPU copy engine based transfer to optimize performance on different configurations. © 2024 ieee.

In the fast-changing world of blockchain tech, keeping cryptographic algorithms secure and efficient is crucial, especially for managing keys in groups. This paper compares three cryptographic algorithms - Shamir's Secret Sharing Scheme, Blakley's Scheme, and the Asmuth-Bloom Scheme - to see how well they work in managing group keys in blockchain systems. We look at how fast they are and how well they resist attacks to understand their strengths and weaknesses in blockchain. Key management is really important for keeping things secure with cryptography, especially in systems like distributed ledgers. We study how long it takes to use Shamir's Secret Sharing, Blakley's Scheme, and the Asmuth-Bloom Scheme in blockchain, showing how efficient and scalable they are, which matters a lot in big distributed systems. We also look at how secure these cryptographic schemes are against different types of attacks, like trying lots of passwords, intercepting messages, working together to attack, and finding vulnerabilities in the system. By focusing on both efficiency and security, we try to get a clear picture of which cryptographic scheme is best for blockchain, especially when managing group keys securely and dynamically. In our research, we found that in terms of speed, Shamir's Secret Sharing Scheme outperforms the Asmuth-Bloom Scheme and Blakley's Scheme, with Shamir being the fastest, followed by Asmuth and then Blakley. However, regarding security, all three schemes demonstrate robustness against various attack vectors. We also discovered that Shamir Secret Sharing Scheme's efficiency could be further enhanced by implementing Newton's interpolation technique for value interpolation. © 2024 ieee.

Wireless sensor networks are often distributed which makes detection of cyber-attacks or misconfiguration hard. Topology and data patterns change may result from attacks leading to the compromise of data and service availability or indicate operational problems. Graphs are often used to model topology and data paths to describe and compare state of a system. For anomaly detection, the definition of normal patterns, deviation from normal, and criteria when to declare anomaly are required. In this contribution the process of acquisition of normal patterns (ground truth), and criteria when to declare anomaly based on graph comparison are proposed. The anomaly detection is suitable for deployment at the edge of a network. Finally, the inability to define all security threats is addressed by a custom tree-based classifier which only requires normal patterns for training. A simulated wireless sensor network was used to acquire data and apply the method. Our experiments show that data and topology change can be detected at the edge of a network.

Data Distribution Service (DDS) is a widely-used middleware for data transmission in distributed real-time applications, such as autonomous vehicles and robotics. However, the communication of existing DDS middlewares generally relies on the network stacks of the operating system, which brings long latency to the real-time applications. In this paper, we propose a DPDK-based DDS, dubbed 3DS, to improve the performance of communication of DDS middlewares. First, 3DS reduces the latency of communication between distributed real-time applications by avoiding the latency of kernel. Second, 3DS reduces the overhead of dynamic memory allocation and deallocation by a reserved memory pool. Finally, 3DS adopts a thread-exclusive CPU model to reduce the resource contention between threads. We implement and evaluate 3DS on real systems running Linux. The experimental results show that 3DS reduces 44% of the communication latency over FastDDS, which is the state-of-the-art DDS middleware used by ROS2. Moreover, the throughput of data transfer in 3DS can be 1.51 times that of FastDDS. © 2022 ieee.

In today's digital era, traditional methods of academic certificate validation are plagued by inefficiencies and vulnerabilities to fraudulent activities. To combat these challenges, integrating blockchain technology presents a promising solution. Originally designed for cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, blockchain offers a decentralized ledger system characterized by transparency, cryptographic security, and immutability. This research endeavors to explore the utilization of blockchain for the validation of student certificates. Our proposed system aims to develop a robust platform for issuing, storing, and verifying certificates, leveraging blockchain's distributed consensus and cryptographic features to ensure integrity and authenticity. Additionally, the system will incorporate user-friendly interfaces, seamless integration with existing educational systems, and advanced security measures to enhance user experience and trust in the validation process. This innovative approach grants individuals’ greater control over their credentials while mitigating risks of fraud and manipulation, thus revolutionizing the landscape of academic certificate validation in the digital age. ©2024 ieee.

Wireless sensor Networks(WSN) have always operated in the (Industrial Scientific and Medical) ISM spectrum range. There is no license for this ISM band. This ISM band is also used by numerous other technologies, such as Bluetooth, ZigBee, WiMAX, etc. This leads to a lot of traffic in this area. However, FCC data show that 90% of the time, many licensed frequency bands are left unused. For that the FCC introduced the idea of dynamic spectrum allocation in order to make better use of the licensed radio spectrum. In dynamic spectrum allocation the device can connect in underutilized portions of the spectrum by detecting open channels. Spectrum holes are the underutilized portions of the spectrum. CWSN uses dynamic spectrum allocation to boost spectral efficiency by nature. When there is a lot of traffic on its own network, the CWSN transmits data across the licensed user's spectrum band, preventing collisions and delays in data delivery. The state-of-the-art development in several aspects of CWSN, including deployment strategies, routing, security, energy efficiency, and potential application areas, have all been systematically studied in this paper. © 2024 ieee.

Physiological sensors are commonly applied for user state monitoring and consequent machine behavior adaptation in applications such as rehabilitation and intelligent cars. While more accurate user state monitoring is known to lead to better user experience, increased accuracy often requires more sensors or more complex sensors. The increased setup time and discomfort involved in the use of such sensors may itself worsen user experience. To examine this effect, we conducted a study where 72 participants interacted with a computer-based multitasking scenario whose difficulty was periodically adapted - ostensibly based on data from either a remote eye tracker or a lab-grade 'wet' electroencephalography sensor. Deception was used to ensure consistent difficulty adaptation accuracies, and user experience was measured with the Intrinsic Motivation Inventory, NASA Task Load Index, and an ad-hoc scale. We found few user experience differences between the eye tracker and electroencephalography sensor - while one interaction effect was noted, it was small, and there were no other differences. This result is at first surprising and seems to indicate that comfort and setup time are not major factors for laboratory-based user experience evaluations of such technologies. However, the result is likely due to a suboptimal study protocol where each participant interacted with only one sensor. In future work, we will use an alternate protocol to further explore the effects of user comfort and setup time on user experience. © 2024 ieee.

Modern enterprises are facing a massive threat from Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs), which have risen to be one of the most dangerous challenges in recent years. Since system logs capture the complex causality dependencies between system entities, they have become the primary data source for countering APTs. However, as modern computer systems get more complicated, system logs can pile up in large quantities. Besides, APTs are sophisticated and persistent cyber attacks that can remain hidden in the target for a long time and constantly steal private data. System logs need to be collected and stored for a long duration to enable a complete analysis of APTs. Such a vast amount of log data is challenging for enterprises to store and manage. There are two mainstream solutions for reducing storage overhead. Data compression methods provide an intuitive idea. However, they are designed for general text and lack optimization for system logs. Another solution considers log reduction, which removes redundant system events recorded in system logs by predefined rules. Unfortunately, they are tailored for specific kinds of redundant information, resulting in limited applicability. Realizing that these two solutions adopt two distinct perspectives to reduce storage overhead, they are complementary. Data compression methods shrink the size of log data from their binary form. Log reduction starts from the semantic information of system logs and removes redundant information to reduce storage overhead. Combining both methods maximizes storage efficiency. In this paper, we propose a distributed storage system based on a hybrid compression scheme. To address the above deficiencies, we first identify and merge redundant system events by analyzing and tracing the information flow rather than based on rules. Then, we apply log parsing to preprocess log entries for further storage efficiency. Besides, we design a distributed architecture to optimize compression and eliminate repeated
