The miniaturization of computing, sensing and wireless communication devices enable the development of wireless sensor networks (WSNs). One of interesting research in sensor networks is utilizing active moving nodes. The benefit of the active sensor nodes is to measure wide-ranging area by, small number of nodes. Despite of the rapid development of the network protocols in mobile sensor nodes, the application platforms for active sensor nodes have not been much discussed. In this context, Publish/subscribe model is one of reasonable solution with sensor networks. Publish/subscribe model has become a prevalent paradigm for delivering data/events from publishers (data/event producers) to subscribers (data/event consumers) across large-scale distributed network,. In sensor networks, a user who is interested in the specific location and attributes can send subscription to the system to receive all desired events. This paper proposes a novel schema that allows us to control active sensor nodes for location-based publish/subscribe system. In our schema, active sensor nodes can be deployed to the most effective location for event delivery.

Industrial environment pose concern for harsh noisy environment upon use of Wireless sensor Networks (WSN). Wavelet Transform is used as preprocessor for denoising the real word data from sensor node. Wireless sensor Networks are battery powered. Hence every aspect of WSN is designed with energy constrain. Communication is the largest consumer of energy in WSN. Hence energy consumption during communication must be reduced to the minimum possible. This paper focuses on reduced energy consumption on communication. The co-operative routing protocol is designed for communication in a distributed environment. In a distributed environment, the data routing takes place in multiple hops and all the nodes take part in communication. The main objective is to achieve a uniform dissipation of energy for all the nodes in the whole network, and make the classifier work in industrial environment. The paper discusses classification technique using ART I and Fuzzy ART neural network models.

In this paper, an algorithm of coverage control is introduced for three-dimensional underwater wireless sensor networks based on uniform deployment on surface which is suitable for water environment monitoring of wetland. sensor nodes are uniformly deployed on surface of monitoring waters with equal interval. After deployment, sensors are lowered to appropriate depths selected by the distributed algorithm such that the maximum three-dimensional coverage of underwater sensor space is maintained. For the maximization of comprehensive index composed of coverage and average distance, simulation results reveal that our scheme outperforms two- and one-dimensional random deployment and depth random deployment under different network scale.

Accurate location measurement is an important research topic In Pervasive computingsystems and applications. To achieve high performance measurements, the knowledge of the quality of a measurement, a sensor cue, or an Inferred location value is required. This paper presents a novel approach in the deliverance of an independents unified Quality of Location (QoL) value for Location systems. The proposed approach is highly flexible, independent of technology and location Inference mechanisms and approaches, Integrable into any existing location system, and does neither require knowledge of sensor, nor of application characteristics. The paper proposes both a method to retrieve QoL for a given system, and shows its application in a setting using a simple ultrasound location system. Retrieving QoL requires a multi step process including a unsupervised subtractive clustering method for Initial learning, and a supervised network based fuzzy Inference systems (ANFIS) for refinement or the parameters. The approach described can be used In settings using heterogeneous systems, devices, and sensors. It Is also usable at any abstraction layer and is able to run on small sensor node devices. Technical foundations of the algorithms are an adaptive network based fuzzy Inference systems (ANFIS). In this paper we will show the technical principles, Its application and evaluate the performance of the system.

Environmental monitoring requires that raw data acquired from sensors and/or data repositories be transformed, by scientific analysis, into assessments of current ecosystem conditions and in evolution trends in time and space. The huge data amount produced by different sources, the complexity of the environmental models adopted and the necessary distributed collaboration between scientists and government agencies, require specific applications to process and understand environmental phenomena and validate results. GIS domain received a great deal of attention from the scientific and industrial applications communities. Many algorithms, protocols, and applications have been built through the ears for the collection, investigation, analysis, and synthesis of data obtained from sensors ranging from temperature, pressure, etc. to satellite imaging. Almost all attempts have been made to deal with data obtained from lumped repositories. Little or almost none works are reported about a general and flexible mechanism used to display geo-dependent data as it is generated. In this paper we present a GIS platform whose goal is to efficiently mine, fuse, and exploit environmental data and to synthetically display the results at the pace the data is produces. A Virtual Data Warehouse to use GIS information is proposed to manage and collect data acquired by and from several sources. The proposed platform allows users to access to environmental data collected by different sources, to register, normalize and visualize data for exploring and analyzing complex structure and relationship, to process data using distributedcomputing resources and web applications. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed prototype, we present a case study related to data fusion of Modis files and Geo-Located real sensor data for air quality monitoring.

In this paper we track a person's region of interest by both recovering the 3D trajectory in the indoor environment and estimating the head pose indicating the attention direction. The above two attributes of the person can be combined to provide useful information for smart home and other smart indoor environment applications. There are two main differentiations of the work in this paper. First, a nonlinear graph embedding method is used to robustly estimate the head yaw angle under 0 degrees similar to 360 degrees in low resolution images. Second, the person's trajectory is recovered in an affinely-equal manner with uncalibrated cameras. We show that under certain conditions an affine camera model can be assumed, with which both the 3D trajectory and the camera parameters can be optimally estimated simultaneously from 2D tracking. In this case the optimization problem is linear and the solution can be achieved in real-time. With this method no accurate calibration is required for the cameras, while we can still achieve the person's trajectory and region of interest relative to the field confined by the rough placement of the cameras. Therefore the motivation of this work is to facilitate/enable multi-camera systems for ubiquitous computing and ambient intelligent applications such as smart homes and smart meeting rooms. In such applications accurate calibration may be difficult to obtain by the users, but with the proposed methods functionalities of interest can still be achieved.

Bomb disposal suits contain a large amount of padding and armour to protect the wearer's vital organs in the case of explosion. The combination of the heavy (roughly 40kg) suit, physical exertion, and the environment in which these suits are worn can cause the wearer's temperature to rise to uncomfortable and potentially dangerous levels during missions. This paper reports on the development of a wearable wireless sensing system suitable for deployment in such manned bomb disposal missions. In its final form, the system will be capable of making in-network autonomous decisions related to the actuation of cooling within the suit, in order to increase the comfort of the wearer. In addition, it will allow an external observer to remotely monitor the health and comfort of the operative. Laboratory experiments with the instrumented suit show how skin temperature varies differently for different skin sites, motivating the need for multiple, distributed sensing. The need for timely application of in-suit cooling is also shown, as well as the importance of monitoring the overall health of the wearer of the suit.
