With the continuous breakthroughs in intelligent algorithm models, the computational complexity of target detection algorithms has continued to increase. At the same time, the performance and power consumption requirements of edge systems for hardware devices have become increasingly stringent. To better weigh the detection speed and accuracy of the artificial intelligence algorithm deployed on the embedded Zynq platform, we streamline and optimize the YOLO-v4 network model and then retrain the model based on the COCO dataset. Finally, the quantification and compilation processes are carried out in sequence to realize model migration and deployment from the server side to the Zynq device. Through experimental verification, the detection time of the modified YOLO-v4 algorithm model in this paper is 31.42 ms, and the detection error is only 4.0 pixels. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The use of new possibilities introduced by 5G networks also creates new problems and concerns, specifically in the field of user mobility in wireless communication systems. In this paper, the Authors investigate the effectiveness of Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) in the mobility prediction context in order to exploit the temporal component in the users movement data for improved prediction performance. To drive this process, the input datasets are obtained from the GeoLife GPS Trajectories dataset, then follow the data pre-processing steps, constructing an LSTM-based RNN model, and using Python with TensorFlow and Keras. From the analyses, we detected that the accomplishment of using LSTM and hybrid RNN-CNN is significant and higher than the traditional approaches of EN, RFM, and CL. The test results demonstrate that the LSTM model can reduce the MAE and RMSE values by 19. 49% and 14. 82%, respectively. However, the execution of these models has some issues that include compute time, instantaneous prediction that is needed in many real-world applications, and case. Such problems can be solved with the help of such approaches as edge computing and distributed processing. Besides, it is pivotal to put measures in place to maintain the confidentiality and security of user information. This paper highlights the applicative potential of RNNs in redesigning user mobility prediction in 5G networks, and thus helping toward a better ownership of the network players and assets. © 2024 ieee.

The interest of the space industry in real-time Operating systems for achieving stringent real-time requirement is drastically increasing. Among the different available hardware architectures, the solution of RTOS implemented on soft processors embedded in programmable devices is one of the most efficient and flexible solution for the mission deployment. However, radiation-induced failures are a severe concern affecting the reliability of electronic systems in space applications. In this paper, we investigate the impact of radiation-induced architectural faults affecting the reliability of application running on a Xilinx Microblaze embedded soft-processor within FreeRTOS Operating System. We developed a fault model through a proton radiation test, while the effects of the faults are evaluated in terms of Mean time To Failure and Mean Executions To Failure, by a fault injection campaign using detected fault models. Finally, the occurrence and contribution to the error rate of specific MBUs events based on different shapes and sizes are evaluated through dedicated fault injection campaigns.

With the new technology revolution in the past years, traditional libraries are faced with numerous challenges. To meet the needs of users of a smart society, they have to re-engineer their processes and turn into a smart library. The Internet-of-Things (IoT) has played an important role in designing smart libraries as it consists of intelligent devices capable of capturing data in real time. Smart libraries make use of IoT devices to enhance its processes, with in turn reduce manpower costs. A university campus consists of several smart applications such as smart classrooms, smart parking and smart building among others. To be able to interoperate with these systems and promote decision-making among these smart systems, it is important to represent data of a smart library in formalized ways. Ontologies have played important roles in modelling data of a particular domain, promoting knowledge sharing and reuse as well as enhancing semantic interoperability. After analyzing existing ontologies, it was observed that none fitted a smart library. This paper thus presents an ontology for a smart library taking into consideration concepts of IoT. © 2021 ieee.

In many cases, demands of Intelligent Manufacturing are generated locally and served locally, not necessarily dependent on the cloud. We believe in the distributed intelligent production system, cloud and edge systems should act as equal processing nodes for service migration and cooperation. This paper focuses on the edge nodes and expands the scope of edge computing, aimed at building an independent and complete edge system - DEPS based on demand-orientation. To adapt to the edge environment, DEPS adopts a hierarchical structure to provide a relatively complete system framework for multiple parallel services. To meet the demands of industrial production, DEPS takes two measures: 1) integrates a variety of existing industrial control systems;2) uses flexible modular design to allow experts to participate in the design, enhancing the professionalism of the system which can be designed more on-demand. We use short and continuous industrial production data to evaluate DEPS and propose a method to measure its processing performance versus current systems: 1) as for a cloud only system, DEPS has superior performance servicing local demands in real-time, securely and of lower cost;2) as for current edge systems, partial comparison of them in applications and performances is discussed. © 2023 ieee.

The widespread and growing utilisation of digital images has made image encryption a crucial concern, garnering significant attention from researchers. Regrettably, the development and study of fast encryption schemes for colour images are currently lacking. This paper proposes a specifically designed colour image encryption system for high-speed applications, utilising only diffusion techniques. The proposed technique employs a set of five Piece-wise Linear Chaotic Maps (PWLCM) with different first values and control factors to execute the image encryption operation. The SHA-256 hashing is employed for the initialization of first values and control factors in PWLCM system. The technique involves initially separating the colour image into its three colour components. Subsequently, the three components are horizontally concatenated. Next, the generation of three key images is achieved by employing the three PWLCM systems, each with distinct key parameters. Subsequently, these three key images are concatenated together. Furthermore, the concatenated outputs are partitioned into blocks with dimensions of (1× 3). The process involves performing a bit-XORing diffusion process on the concatenated outputs of the selected blocks of the colour component and the key image. The block selection operation is performed using two distinct PWLCM systems. The diffused blocks are ultimately merged to produce the ciphertext. Based on the analysis on security and experimental outputs, it has been determined, the described method successfully encrypts the color photos of different sizes while ensuring their security. © 2023 ieee.

It led to a panic situation over the country. The decision-makers were unable to make the right decision at right time due to a lack of proper information. This research paper covers the study of various systems which provides information regarding the availability of Beds of different categories in Hospitals during pandemic situations. After studying various systems, the researcher has designed and developed a web-based system that provides real-time information on the availability of beds of various categories like ICU beds, Beds with Oxygen facilities, Beds without Oxygen, and Beds with Ventilators. © 2023 ieee.

This project implements a real-time environmental monitoring system using an Arduino and various sensors to track temperature and humidity data and print the real time. The system integrates a DHT11 sensor for measurements, a DS3231 real-time clock (RTC) for time-stamping data, and an Ethernet shield for network communication. The collected sensor data is displayed on a dynamically updated web page hosted on the Arduino, accessible via a local IP address. The web interface presents live temperature and humidity readings, along with historical data visualized in a line chart. This system is designed to handle multiple client connections and can be utilized in applications such as home automation, industrial monitoring, or educational purposes. © 2024 ieee.

Secure data sharing is crucial for many real time applications such as law enforcement agencies, military conversations and medical data sharing, etc., However, since sensitive information might be intercepted or leaked, sharing it presents a serious security risk. Here, a unique strategy combining steganography and cryptography approaches is proposed to overcome this difficulty. By encrypting data using AES encryption and concealing it behind an image using Modified Least Significant Bit (LSB) and picture encryption using Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC), the suggested method seeks to improve data transmission security. AES encryption, a well-known symmetric encryption method renowned for its efficiency and resilience, is used in the first layer of security. This guarantees that the plain-text communication, which is safeguarded by a powerful encryption key, stays private. By employing a modified Least Significant Bit (LSB) technique to incorporate the AES-encrypted text inside a cover picture, you may go one step further. The inclusion of crucial information is concealed within the seemingly innocent image thanks to this secret embedding, even in the event that the communication is intercepted. ECC encryption, a potent asymmetric encryption technique, adds a second layer of protection by preserving the validity and integrity of the cover picture itself. By utilizing the mathematical characteristics of elliptic curves, ECC encryption generates safe digital signatures for the picture that are verifiable and tamper-evident. By integrating these two techniques, proposed approach ensures end-to-end security for sensitive text messages. The use of AES guarantees the confidentiality of the message, while the modified LSB embedding conceals it within an image. Moreover, ECC encryption serves as a resilient method to authenticate the integrity of the image, guaranteeing that it remains unaltered throughout its transmission. © 2024 ieee.
