The escalating demand for assistive robots, fueled by an aging population and the quest for technological solutions to enhance quality of life, requires an effective comprehension of data coming from users interacting with robots. This paper proposes a holistic solution to the challenge of human skeleton detection and analysis by integrating a 3D skeleton detector and RGBD camera spatial data within the Robot Operating System (ROS) middleware. This integration facilitates the publication of user pose and location, forming a versatile foundation for diverse assistive applications. Additionally, a whole-body joint analysis method based on analytical geometry is introduced, expanding the robot's understanding of the user's body and enabling a broader range of applications. The paper showcases the framework's versatility through two applications: humanoid robot pose retargeting and pose classification for user behavior study, proving that the proposed solution works in realtime and serves as a modular, adaptable solution for diverse assistive robotic applications.

The project "Automatic smart shopping Basket based in IoT applications" is primarily focused on embeddedsystems, utilizing technologies such as barcode scanners and Arduino. When consumer visits grocery stores or supermarkets, a significant amount of time is lost scanning every product at the billing/cash counter. Furthermore, there is no way to figure out the entire bill before billing. In order to address these issues, the suggested smart basket uses an Arduino and an LCD display to continuously show the entire cart bill and when the customer is done shopping, they may pay the bill directly over the Centralized network using UPI, NET BANKING, or even cash. Steps were taken to prevent product theft. The existing systems were based on RFID cards, High resolution cameras which are less cost-effective, less precise and offer less protection against goods theft. These issues are solved by the suggested model. The Arduino in the basket and the store's centralized network are the crucial components of the solution. As a result, the suggested system guarantees a hassle-free experience for the use while saving time.

Edge systems promise to bring data and computing closer to the users of time-critical applications. Specifically, edge storage systems are emerging as a new system paradigm, where users can retrieve data from small-scale servers inter-operating at the network's edge. The analysis, design, and optimization of such systems require a tractable model that will reflect their costs and bottlenecks. Alas, most existing mathematical models for edge systems focus on stateless tasks, network performance, or isolated nodes and are inapplicable for evaluating edge-based storage performance. We analyze the capacity-region model-the most promising model proposed so far for edge storage systems. The model addresses the system's ability to serve a set of user demands. Our analysis reveals five inherent gaps between this model and reality, demonstrating the significant remaining challenges in modeling storage service at the edge.

Designers of embeddedreal-timesystems derive, in general, their time parameters such as activation periods from those of sensors or actuators. By designers, we mean the team in charge of conceiving embeddedreal-timesystems. This team includes Control Theory designers and Computer Science designers. Within this paper we present the point of view of Computer Science designers, while the periods proposed by Control Theory designers are supposed robust with respect to the physical behavior of the system. The execution times are, then, estimated by studying statically the programs structure or dynamically the programs execution. In some cases, both activation periods and execution times depend on a sensor information. For instance, they depend on the angular speed of wheels within an automotive embeddedreal-time system and such systems follow a rate-dependent model. Elastic tasks is another model, where one may consider execution time variation depending on the selected period. Within this paper, we are interested in describing statistically the relationship between activation periods and execution times of programs. More precisely, we study the impact of the period variation on the distributions of the execution times. To illustrate our preliminary results, we consider, as case study, the set of programs executing the autopilot of an open-source PX4 drone.
