This research thoroughly examined and validated the development and utilization of smart operation and maintenance systems in edge computing settings. The system's response speed and operation and maintenance efficiency experience a notable increase with the implementation of an effective system architecture, incorporating essential functional modules like data collection, preprocessing, feature extraction, and model training, alongside the real-time performance and resource optimization features of edge computing. The research proves the broad usefulness and important impact of intelligent operation and maintenance systems in different industrial situations, using examples like predicting faults in power systems and performing predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment. It also confirms that edge computing technology plays a role in decreasing maintenance expenses and making exceptional strides in enhancing system reliability. In essence, this research offers a theoretical foundation for developing smart operation and maintenance systems while showcasing the significant capabilities of edge computing in contemporary industries through real-world use cases. © 2025 SPIE.

With the rapid development of sensors, wireless communication, and computing technology, Internet of Things (IoT) has gained significant research interest. In particular, increasing people-oriented applications and systems have been developed to improve the quality of life with intelligent services. In this paper, we propose a situational awareness system based on pervasive computing. In response to the current situation of a large number of elderly people living alone or lacking care, an intelligent assistance system model for elderly people living alone is proposed, aiming to solve problems such as forgetting to turn off lights caused by memory decline, falls caused by mobility impairment, and loss of dementia elderly people. Furthermore, we adopt the OSGi architecture to implement the proposed system. In addition, a virtual device module is designed to shield underlying device heterogeneity ensuring seamless collaboration between devices and services. To further enhance the system's capabilities, optical sensors are integrated for intelligent health monitoring, enabling real-time tracking of vital signs such as heart rate and respiratory rate, as well as early detection of potential health anomalies. To make services transparent to users, we explore the integration methods of distributed sensors and intelligent devices in pervasive computing environments. Experimental results indicate that the system can effectively improve the comfort and safety of elderly people's lives, enhance the convenience of daily affairs and risk prevention and control capabilities. Therefore, the developed system not only provides a technical framework for intelligent assistance systems for the elderly, but also has significant implications for the application of pervasive computing in the field of social welfare. © 2025 SPIE.

For many people, trading in stock market is a popular investment option. Stock price trends has always been an important area of interest for machine learning researchers. Modelling the stock market has always stood as a challenge, despite of many Algorithmic Trading system being available. Algorithmic trading is a mechanism involving use of Artificial Intelligence(AI) for quick trading in stock *** work focuses on understanding the role of algorithmic trading on the capital markets and examines the existence of volatility and test the homogeneousness in the degree of volatility of the chosen Emerging and the developed markets from ***, PP tests and Jarque-Bera tests were conducted to examine the stationarity and normality of the time series data. Returns, SD, ARIMA, ARCH, GARCH, BEKK-GARCH, Granger causality test were applied for the study. The empirical analysis depicted that volatility is present in all stock markets, with its level varying between different markets over time. This will be beneficial to the investors to arrive at right decision. © 2025 ieee.

As smart campus initiatives progress, intelligent attendance systems are increasingly replacing traditional methods, becoming a crucial component of higher education management. This paper presents an intelligent attendance system that integrates millimeter-wave radar with facial recognition technology using a multi-modal fusion approach. The system leverages the precise positioning capabilities of millimeter-wave radar and the efficient identity verification of facial recognition, addressing attendance challenges in complex scenarios through data fusion. Experimental results demonstrate that millimeter-wave radar significantly improves the robustness and adaptability of facial recognition in low-light conditions, overlapping crowds, and mask-wearing situations. The integrated system achieves an attendance precision exceeding 94.6% under challenging conditions, with a response time of less than 2 seconds. This study offers technical solutions and practical guidance for implementing intelligent attendance systems in smart campus environments. © 2025 ieee.

There have been several developments in renewable resources, standby sources of energy, and storage technologies. Because renewable sources are inconsistent, the best method to ensure supply continuity is to combine them with traditional energy to serve mini-grids or the isolated loads that are not linked to the main grid. In hybrid power system, many different energy sources are blended. Every time, effective and efficient Energy Management Strategies (EMS) are necessary when more than a source of energy is employed to supply a given load. This strategy directs the energy flow via the supply chain. This is necessary not just for standalone hybrid systems, but for hybrid power system that are linked to the main network. The intelligent control of hybrid MG has been the subject of a large number of serious research projects. A comprehensive assessment of the approaches used by a number of writers in their research work on applying energy management approaches is conducted. Standalone hybrid energy systems and the hybrid systems those are linked to the electrical grids are examples of these solutions. The aim of this paper is to give summary of various energy management schemes utilized in sustainable hybrid systems. Brief study is conducted for a number of freestanding and grid-linked hybrid system designs in order to make sure and find that which energy management technique that works well and will be applied for one renewable source is not always the best for another. © 2025 ieee.

With the rapid development of smart grids, intelligent power measurement and control systems have become a key technology for achieving efficient energy management and energy conservation and emission reduction. Traditional measurement and control systems often have problems such as low data processing efficiency and poor real-time performance, which makes it difficult to meet the needs of modern power grids for precise control and intelligent management. In response to the above problems, this paper aims to explore an intelligent electricity measurement and control system based on C/S (Client/Server) architecture and Euclidean distance algorithm to improve data processing efficiency and system real-time performance. This paper elaborates on the application of C/S algorithm and Euclidean distance in intelligent power measurement and control system, including system architecture design, data processing flow and algorithm implementation. Then, through system performance testing and experimental results analysis, the effectiveness and reliability of the proposed system are verified. Finally, the research content, experimental results and shortcomings of this paper are summarized, and directions for future improvement are proposed. The experimental results show that the intelligent electricity measurement and control system based on C/S and Euclidean distance can significantly improve data processing efficiency and system real-time performance. The highest speed of data processing in the system is 200, reducing energy consumption and operating costs, providing strong support for the intelligent management of smart grids. © 2025 ieee.

Intrusion Detection systems (IDS) comprise of devices utilized for network monitoring to detect unusual activities that deviate from normal functionality and lead to policy violation. However, ensuring both privacy and security is a challenging task. Monitoring security operations becomes complex due to the presence of a large number of CC devices, their heterogeneity, and limitations in technical specifications, which lead to inefficiencies in security operations. To address this issue, Intrusion Detection systems (IDS) are introduced to ensure a secure network against various vulnerabilities and threats. The integration of robust Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL)-based techniques becomes crucial to address various security challenges. ML and DL-based IDS methods are fundamental in securing cloud environments and networks. The IDS monitors network traffic and system activities, effectively mitigating security threats caused by the rapid growth in network traffic. Additionally, the ML and DL techniques enhance the detection of known and unknown attacks, including zero-day attacks, thereby reducing false positive rates. The performance of ML and DL models is typically evaluated in terms of the metrics of accuracy, recall, precision, and F1-Score. © 2025 ieee.

With the increasing adoption of autonomous vehicles, ensuring the security of Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks (VANETs) is critical to maintaining road safety and efficiency. Among the potential threats, Sybil attacks pose a significant challenge by enabling malicious vehicles to illegitimately assume multiple identities, disrupting communication and causing traffic mismanagement. This paper addresses the simulation and detection of Sybil attacks in intelligent Transportation systems using a combination of network simulation and machine learning. Realistic traffic environments are replicated using tools such as OpenStreetMap, SUMO, and OMNeT++, and attack scenarios are simulated to generate datasets. A machine learning model, trained on these datasets, detects Sybil attacks by analyzing vehicle acceleration and behavioral patterns. The proposed approach successfully identifies malicious nodes, invalidates fraudulent messages, and mitigates their impact, thereby enhancing the security and reliability of autonomous vehicle networks. This study provides a robust framework for Sybil attack detection and contributes to the broader field of secure intelligent transportation systems. © 2025 ieee.

Edge-Cloud systems provide efficient computation and storage close to data sources, with lower latency, scalability, and application performance for various applications, such as IoT, autonomous vehicles, and real-time analytics. These systems are highly vulnerable to significant security and privacy challenges, which include the following: data confidentiality and integrity in the process of transmission, secure protection of sensitive data stored on the edge against physical and remote attacks, and maintaining availability under dynamic network conditions. More challenges related to ensuring users' private nature through anonymizing data, obtaining consent for all processes involved, and compliance with specific regulations like GDPR and CCPA. This work incorporates more enhanced cryptographic methods in the transfer of data between heterogeneous systems and environment-based anomaly detection, advanced privacy-preserving analytics to avoid extraction of private data, adaptive control mechanisms in place for Edge-Cloud for minimizing vulnerability with enhanced trust along with the maintenance of data integrity. The key benefits would be robust mitigation of threats, better interoperability between edge and cloud platforms, and alignment with evolving security standards, which promotes wider adoption across various sectors. © 2025 ieee.
