Our research interest lies in studing how local strategies about partner agent selection using reinforcement learning with variable exploitation-versus-exploration parameters influence the overall efficiency of multi-agent systems (MAS). An agent often has to select appropriate agents to assign tasks that are not locally executable. Unfortunately no agent in an open environment can understand the all states of all agents, so this selection must be done according to local information. In this paper we investigate how the overall performance of MAS is affected by their individual learning parameters for adaptive partner selections for collaboration. We show experimental results using simulation and discuss why the overall performance of MAS varies.

Although workspace is essential for the design and control of cable-driven parallel robots (CDPR) very few works have been devoted to this topic when sagging cables are considered, most probably because of the complexity of the cable model. In this paper we consider suspended CDPR with sagging cables that can support only a limited tension. We propose an algorithm to compute the border of horizontal cross-sections of the workspace for a given altitude and orientation of the platform. We show that singularities of the kinematics equations have to be taken into account for a proper determination of the border and that the workspace can be separated in several components according to the branch of the inverse kinematics on which the robot is evolving. We also compare the workspace obtained for ideal and sagging cables.

We introduce ImitationFlow, a novel Deep generative model that allows learning complex globally stable, stochastic, nonlinear dynamics. Our approach extends the Normalizing Flows framework to learn stable Stochastic Differential Equations. We prove the Lyapunov stability for a class of Stochastic Differential Equations and we propose a learning algorithm to learn them from a set of demonstrated trajectories. Our model extends the set of stable dynamical systems that can be represented by state-of-the-art approaches, eliminates the Gaussian assumption on the demonstrations, and outperforms the previous algorithms in terms of representation accuracy. We show the effectiveness of our method with both standard datasets and a real robot experiment.

ICP algorithms typically involve a fixed choice of data association method and a fixed choice of error metric. In this paper, we propose Hybrid ICP, a novel and flexible ICP variant which dynamically optimises both the data association method and error metric based on the live image of an object and the current ICP estimate. We show that when used for object pose estimation, Hybrid ICP is more accurate and more robust to noise than other commonly used ICP variants. We also consider the setting where ICP is applied sequentially with a moving camera, and we study the trade-off between the accuracy of each ICP estimate and the number of ICP estimates available within a fixed amount of time.

Incorporation of intelligence is becoming an increasingly important part of the transportation system. Attacks on the transportation infrastructure have been limited, but as more vehicles become connected, the threat for cyberattacks increases and hence the need to secure intelligent Transportation systems (ITS) for individual vehicles and public transportation. Security of these systems is crucial for the safe and efficient transportation. Solutions can be introduced to address the vulnerabilities of systems, overcome the external threats to the systems, and to reduce the risks of attacks that can be faced by ITS. The purpose of this research is to provide a survey of the ITS security challenges and solutions that can be implemented to prevent and/or overcome security breaches to ITS.
