Instagram is an actively used social media platform among the 18-24 age group worldwide. People in this age group are especially vulnerable to mental disorders and suffer health consequences. The paper presents the findings from a data-driven examination of the associations between active and passive uses of Instagram, social comparison, loneliness and happiness among engineering undergraduates in Nepal. Clustering analysis shows that a student with low engagement on Instagram is associated with passive use (browsing feeds), but significant hours scattered throughout the day due to Instagram use. Meanwhile, a student with high engagement spends at least an hour in a single session. Bayesian network analysis finds that Instagram use is independent, and other variables are influenced by it. This supports the hypothesis that Instagram could be shaping psychological experiences and mental health outcomes. We also found that the shaping is modest but significant. Such a modest but potentially significant causal relationship was found between high Instagram use and high levels of social comparisons. Similarly, a potentially important relationship was found between high levels of social comparisons and high levels of loneliness. Our findings support the observation that social comparison orientation plays a mediating role. Interestingly, happiness neither influences nor influenced by the level of Instagram use. In the paper, we detail the computational techniques we have used, present interesting results, and discuss the model's findings. This research highlights the impact of social media use among undergraduates in a unique cultural context like Nepal, contributing to the limited body of research on social media's influence in South Asia. © 2025 ieee.

Traditional recommendation systems often rely on explicit feedback, such as user ratings and favorites. However, this approach suffers from data sparsity and inaccuracy issues. In contrast, implicit feedback data, such as user browsing history and click records, is much richer. Therefore, this paper uses implicit feedback data as the basis for recommendations, models user behavior to uncover their potential interests, and transforms them into vector *** paper also introduces interactive interest modeling. This approach models user interest representations based on implicit feedback user behavior sequences. For sequence recommendation problems, we use a Transformer model to extract deeper features from interactive interest representations and use an attention mechanism to capture users' real-time interests. Experimental results on Kaggle datasets demonstrate that this method outperforms traditional implicit feedback recommendation methods in terms of accuracy and personalization. © 2023 ieee.

Certification of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) is mainly based on scenario testing. Finding all possible road scenarios and learning their statistical distribution is fundamental and always based on examples extracted from real driving data, which is a huge challenge. Existing methods for extracting driving scenarios include both rule-based and machine-learning approaches. While rule-based approaches suffer from scalability issues, machine learning approaches encounter limitations due to the format of scenario data, charac-terized by variable-length time series with dynamic variations in vehicle perception. More specifically, recurrent neural networks and transformer approaches are confronted with unstable data formats and quality because of perception problems and variations in the number of obstacles. Convolutional neural networks approaches introduce occupancy grids to solve data format issues, but lack statistical justification for transforming time series into images, In this paper, we present a new approach to transform driving data into tensors, based on a rigorous statistical process that ensures stability and scalability compared to existing methods limited to specific formats or scenarios. Our approach aims to standardize the presentation of scenarios in a uniform way to enable the use of recent AI approaches for large-scale scenario collection. This will help to detect both common and rare scenario classes. In addition, we design an efficient learning strategy adapted to the volume of data available, their state of annotations, and the intrinsic characteristics of deep learning models. Furthermore, we validate our methodologies on real European driving data. © 2024 ieee.

Internet of Things (IoT) Technology has created opportunities for developing intelligent systems in different segments. Agriculture is the most significant beneficiary potential of IoT. IoT-based sensor systems in agriculture help monitor parameters affecting plant growth and health. This data can assist in making better decisions around essential parts of agricultural procedures, like when to rinse or not, what pest needs attention, and where you have already fertilized. This research paper aims to develop an IoT-based system for monitoring and optimization in intelligent agriculture. Wireless sensors collect data on soil moisture, temperature, humidity, and light intensity. Then, sensor nodes are connected to a central gateway that gathers and processes the data. The processed data is sent to the cloud server for storage and analysis. This system also has an interface where farmers can access this data and see their crops' conditions (present location). It also suggests how adjustments should be made regarding irrigation and fertilization according to the data collected. This will enable farmers to save time and input costs by applying the exact amount of water or fertilizers per their requirements. © 2024 ieee.

Dynamic multi-objective optimization problems (DMOPs) exist widely in real life, and the algorithm needs to track changing Pareto optima accurately and quickly after the environment changes when dealing with these DMOPs. In response to the above issues, this paper proposes a prediction strategy assisted by long short-term memory recurrent neural network (PS-LSTM) for DMOPs. In the proposed method, when environmental changes occur, the difference of the center point of Pareto solutions is predicted by long short-term memory recurrent neural network and then the evolutionary direction of Pareto solutions can be calculated to better track changing Pareto optima by selecting excellent individuals in a new environment. Moreover, the next initial population is predicted based on the difference of the center point and the evolutionary direction of Pareto solutions. Finally, the PS-LSTM strategy is compared with four representative strategies on 11 benchmark test problems. Experimental results indicate that the strategy has better performance.

With the continuous development of wireless communication technology, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), as an efficient modulation technology, has been widely used in various communication systems, such as Wi-Fi, LTE 5G, etc. In the OFDM system, the receiver needs to accurately identify the modulation mode of the received signal for the correct demodulation and data resolution. Traditional modulation mode recognition methods usually rely on manually designed features and classifiers, and the performance of this method is limited by the feature selection and engineering complexity. To overcome the limitations of traditional methods, this paper proposes a method to identify OFDM signal modulation mode based on the combination of higher-order cyclic accumulative amount and neural network. Our goal is to use neural networks to learn manually extracted feature representations to improve the accuracy and robustness of identification and reduce the complexity of feature engineering. High-order cyclic accumulation can capture the periodic characteristics of signals and has a strong discriminatory ability to the OFDM signals with periodic structure. The neural network is used to learn the characteristics of higher-order extraction, and then make the modulation mode classification. This classical OFDM modulation mode (such as BPSK, QPSK, and 16 QAM) was used as experimental subjects to generate a series of OFDM signals with different modulation modes and signal-to-noise ratios. The performance of the proposed method is compared with the traditional feature engineering method and other machine learning methods, and it is experimentally verified under different SNR conditions. Experimental results show that the proposed method exhibits high discrimination accuracy and robustness under lower SNR and frequency-biased conditions. Compared with traditional methods, neural network-based methods are able to utilize the underlying features of the data more effectively

Smart city spatial query is a data structure that arranges spatial objects in a certain order based on their location and shape, or a certain spatial relationship between spatial objects. It aims to quickly filter spatial objects that are unrelated to specific spatial operations and is an important indicator for ensuring efficient search and display of spatial data. Its performance directly affects the overall performance of geographic information systems and spatial databases. At present, various spatial approximation query algorithms have been optimized, but there are still significant limitations. This article empirically tests the relationship between smart cities and high-quality development of the circulation industry based on the spatial DID model. The trajectory data is divided into sub trajectories using a trajectory data partitioning method based on optimized minimum boundary rectangle MBR to improve the approximation effect of trajectory data. The results show that the optimal convergence speed of our method is 50 times, and the convergence accuracy is the highest, with a maximum value of 1.5160, a minimum value of 1.6623, and an average value of 1.54471. When the data volume is 3.0, the running time of the method in this article is 560ms. Based on cloud computing systems, the efficiency and accuracy of window queries and spatial connection queries are the highest, and the algorithm has high adaptability. © 2024 ieee.

The paper presents a comprehensive in-depth analysis of big data, machine learning (ML), and deep learning (DL) methodologies in predictive healthcare analytics, with a focus on their comparative strengths, research gaps, and applications in real world. The study synthesizes findings from recent research papers related to same objective, highlighting the evolution of data-driven technologies in healthcare sector and the challenges which are associated with data integration, privacy, and real-time processing. The big data analytics provides foundational insights from vast healthcare datasets, while ML algorithms enhance predictive accuracy on structured data, while DL models achieve high precision even in complex tasks, such as medical imaging and real-time IoT embedded systems monitoring. This article introduces a novel hybrid approach that combines the strength of all these approaches, employing common data for heterogenous data integration, federated learning for privacy, and a feedback-driven adaptive system for continuous improvement. Analyzing quantitative comparisons, the effectiveness of each approach is illustrated: DL demonstrate high acuracy, and ML, in turn, flexibility with a moderate rate. Discussing the research gaps of current methodologies, the proposed framework discus the scalability, adaptability, and privacy enhancements of this new conceptual model to create more precise and proactive healthcare analytics. Possible future investigations indicate that it is necessary to enhance these adaptive learning solutions and to expand the arbitrary federative learning approaches to treat different interdisciplinary domains. © 2024 ieee.

Pandemics pose significant challenges to healthcare systems, particularly in resource allocation and patient care. Traditional methods for resource allocation often face limitations in handling complex data, adapting to changing conditions, and providing real-time decision support. To address these challenges, we propose a novel method for optimizing resource allocation in healthcare systems using machine learning (ML) and artificial neural networks (ANN s). Traditional resource allocation methods, often based on historical data and manual decision-making, may not be adequate to handle the dynamic and complex nature of pandemics. These methods often fail to account for real-time changes in disease patterns, patient needs, and resource availability. The proposed method integrates predictive modeling, optimization algorithms, and real-time decision support to enhance resource utilization and improve patient outcomes during pandemics. © 2024 ieee.
