The state estimation technique in intelligent power systems is critical for estimating state variables based on appropriate measurement data. Nevertheless, this technique is exposed to cyber-attacks, the best known of which is the false data injection attack (FDIA), which poses a danger to advanced energy systems. This work describes a method for detecting fraudulent attacks using machine learning techniques that include Logistic Regression (LR), Random Forest (RF), K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), and Decision Tree (DT). Different oversampling approaches have been used to tackle the imbalanced dataset issue including the Random Oversampling Technique (ROT), Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE) and Borderline SMOTE. The approach was applied to well-known Oak Ridge National Laboratory datasets. Various measures were used to analyze the efficiency of this study, including accuracy, F1-score, precision and recall. © 2024 ieee.

The safety of transmission lines is measured from several different perspectives. The data of different video surveillance, UAV monitoring, Blockchain social inspection, and internal and external network manual inspection of the transmission line are all connected to the display screen of the transmission line monitoring center. Then the health level of the transmission line is evaluated based on the different perspectives of data in real time. The evaluation needs a series of standard systems to evaluate comprehensively, the data of a single system is not accurate enough. In this paper, the fuzzy multi-attribute decision-making method is used to evaluate the optimal selection of data for each subsystem, and the optimal alternative is selected during the transmission line comprehensive, The method of mathematics can evaluate the health level of transmission lines more accurately, the results hope to provide some proposals for the operation of transmission lines to develop transmission line maintenance policies. © 2023 ieee.

Urban flooding is a serious issue that affects cities all over the world. Thus, there is a rising need for smart and innovative technologies to increase the control of the danger of urban floods. This paper examines different technological advances and strategies that can potentially enhance flood management practices in urban areas, such as real-time monitoring and control systems, predictive modeling, and early warning systems. Urban stormwater drainage real-time control minimizes flash floods. advanced monitoring and automated control systems can effectively control stormwater flow after severe rainfall. Improving flood management is possible by integrating predictive models, data visualization, risk assessment tools, hydraulic modeling software, hybrid models, and decision support systems. Accurate early warnings for evacuation, infrastructure protection, and improved preparedness for emergencies can be generated by integrating real-time data with predictive algorithms. The incorporation of these intelligent technologies enables urban areas to take steps to mitigate the risk of flooding, minimize damage, and develop cities that are both sustainable and secure.

Today's advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), like adaptive cruise control or rear collision warning, are finding broader adoption across vehicle classes. Integrating such advanced, multimodal Large Language Models (LLMs) on board a vehicle, which are capable of processing text, images, audio, and other data types, may have the potential to greatly enhance passenger comfort. Yet, an LLM's hallucinations are still a major challenge to be addressed. In this paper, we systematically assessed potential hallucination detection strategies for such LLMs in the context of object detection in vision-based data on the example of pedestrian detection and localization. We evaluate three hallucination detection strategies applied to two state-of-the-art LLMs, the proprietary GPT-4V and the open LLaVA, on two datasets (Waymo/US and PREPER CITY/Sweden). Our results show that these LLMs can describe a traffic situation to an impressive level of detail but are still challenged for further analysis activities such as object localization. We evaluate and extend hallucination detection approaches when applying these LLMs to video sequences in the example of pedestrian detection. Our experiments show that, at the moment, the state-of-the-art proprietary LLM performs much better than the open LLM. Furthermore, consistency enhancement techniques based on voting, such as the Best-of-Three (BO3) method, do not effectively reduce hallucinations in LLMs that tend to exhibit high false negatives in detecting pedestrians. However, extending the hallucination detection by including information from the past helps to improve results. © 2024 ieee.

The authors show that safety systems of railway automation and remote control can't ensure safety when reaching the limit states of railway infrastructure objects with which they do not directly interact. This is the cause of the train traffic safety incident. Conditions for the safety train control system architecture are formulated. The necessity of integration of hardware for diagnostics and monitoring with train control systems in railway transport for the implementation of the barrier function is noted. It is proposed to output the alarm signal through the hardware interfaces to the train control systems for the speed limits data communication to the train movements controller and the locomotive driver when passing the object under test (up to a complete stop).

In this research, the new and highly effective Web-based English learning and teaching platform called Engage Learn is introduced with the main purpose of avoiding the mistakes of the traditional models and to help users gain the ability to write and speak English more effectively. Engage Learn employs a marked-defined approach, that involves the application of several advanced technologies. Generative models including ChatGPT 3.5 turbo and Gemini 1.5 flash get enhanced presence when trained using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technique. First, the ability for users to speak English makes for an almost informal procedure when learning since the user and the computer are communicating with one another by use of words. In addition to this, targeted feedback modules make an assessment of the user's input and give an immediate-feedback of what is required in terms of improving a user's vocabulary, grammar, and fluency. It offers another learning approach since it presents the content in a manner that is suited more to the current ability level of the user and the usage of preferred learning objectives. Engage Learn also provides flexibility of use based on learning modes as encompassed by general conversation practice, focused grammar correction and vocabulary buildup. This paper reviews the system architecture, explaining features of the different parts of the system, including the speech recognition, LLM with RAG, output analyzing, and the feedback-giving modules on grammar, vocabulary, and reading preferences. Further the paper discusses the tuning of the LLMs in a carefully selected set for language acquisition. This fine-tuning makes sure that the LLMs shall have adequate capability and knowledge required so as to get a feel about how spoken English is and about the particular feedbacks that different user may require out of them. Sharing up-to-date information about the surrounding measured by On-Board Units (OBUs) and Roadside Units (RSUs) is crucial in accomplishing traffic efficiency and pedestrians safety towards intelligent Transportation systems (ITS). Transferring measured data demands geq10Gbit/s transfer rate and geq1GHz bandwidth though the data is lost due to unusual data transfer size and impaired line of sight (LOS) propagation. Most existing models concentrated on resource optimization instead of measured data optimization. Subsequently, RSU-LiDARs have become increasingly popular in addressing object detection, mapping and resource optimization issues of Edge-based Software-Defined Vehicular Orchestration (ESDVO). In this regard, we design a two-step data-driven optimization approach called Object-aware Multi-criteria Decision-Making (OMDM) approach. First, the surroundings-measured data by RSUs and OBUs is processed by cropping object-enabled frames using YoLo and FRCNN at RSU. The cropped data likely share over the environment based on the RSU Computation-Communication method. Second, selecting the potential vehicle/device is treated as an NP-hard problem that shares information over the network for effective path trajectory and stores the cosine data at the fog server for end-user accessibility. In addition, we use a nonlinear programming multi-tenancy heuristic method to improve resource utilization rates based on device preference predictions (Like detection accuracy and bounding box tracking) which elaborately concentrate in future work. The simulation results agree with the targeted effectiveness of our approach, i.e., mAP(geq71%) with processing delay (leq3.5times 10{6}bits/slot), and transfer delay (leq3Sms). Our simulation results indicate that our approach is highly effective. © 2023 ieee.

The undistorted line scan image acquisition of pot external surface is a crucial prerequisite for implementing defect detection on processed surfaces. Aiming at the problem of serious geometrical distortion on the external surface of pot, this paper constructs a line scan imaging system for the cylindrical side surface and the circular bottom surface of the pot, along with a corresponding algorithm for correcting distortion in line scan images. Firstly, by establishing constraints on parameters such as pot dimensions, rotation speed of turntable, and camera line rate, we acquire line scan images of the external surface. Subsequently, based on spatial relationship between the pot and line scan camera, as well as line scan camera's field-of-view angle, segmentation is achieved for side and bottom images in line scan images. Finally, utilizing angular constraints between external surface and line scan camera, we realize geometric distortion correction for side and bottom images;polar coordinate transformation principle is employed to correct geometric distortion in bottom image. Experimental results demonstrated that pixel error between corrected images processed by aforementioned methods and ideal images is less than 0.2 pixels, indicating potential to provide distortion-free data support for defect detection and quantitative analysis of external surface. © 2024 ieee.

Measurements carried out in the field require power consumption planning so sufficient amount of measurements can be carried out without battery recharge. If instantaneous results report is expected, then communication and data storage, processing resources also have to be proportional to the load expected. Latency of the data transmission, processing and reporting should be maintained within acceptable limits. The plant physiological status estimation system 1 considered in this paper is for field application. It communicates with cloud service using the smartphone as intermediate node. Paper presents the analysis of the power consumption and data latency versus operational modes. Models have been developed, accounting the data acquisition algorithm and data transmission protocols. Analysis results can be used to estimate the sensor and gateway service life from one charge or maximum time between measurement initiation and report delivery. It was found that both sensor and gateway could sustain their operation from one charge over one day operation. As of latency, it was found that single core single server solution can maintain just few users simultaneously. More servers are needed for larger users pool: e.g. 200 servers are required to service 10000 users.

Wireless Underwater Sensor Networks serve a multitude of purposes, including disaster avoidance, contaminant monitoring, overseas research, oceanographic data acquisition, supported routing, and strategic surveillance. However, there are several constraints that affect their effectiveness, such as higher energy consumption, limited bandwidth, node mobility, and asynchronous clocks. In this paper, an Energy-Efficient Depth Centric Clustering Routing (EEDCCR) protocol is proposed to overcome these constraints. The idea behind the EEDCCR protocol is that nodes at similar depths and higher energy levels form clusters seeking for cluster heads, whereas non-communicating nodes retry to join clusters or enter into sleep mode, which reduces energy consumption and lengthens the longevity of the system, unlike existing systems in the literature. The protocol's efficacy is analyzed and authenticated through NS-2 simulation, focusing on parameters such as, throughput, packet delivery ratio (PDR) and end-to-end (E2E) latency in comparison to DBR, Co-DRAR, and DRAR protocols. © 2024 ieee.
