Fundamental in numerical computing, mean square (MS) and mean squared error (MSE) calculations play a vital role, especially in artificial intelligence (AI) and signal processing applications. This paper introduces a versatile, low-complexity, and adaptable approach to implement MS and MSE calculations. The central concept involves employing in-memory computing (IMC) technique and executing computations through a set of memristor devices. Specifically, the necessary multiplications and additions leverage the inherent properties of memristor devices, adhering to Ohm's law and Kirchhoff's current law. This innovative method enhances flexibility by programming memristors and emphasizes processing efficiency by reducing computational complexity and latency, surpassing traditional implementation methods.

signal Temporal Logic (STL) is a formal language used for specifying and reasoning about the temporal properties of signals in a system. It provides a framework for expressing complex temporal behaviors and requirements in a concise and expressive manner. However, the main limitation of the current use of STL languages for describing machine tasks is that the construction of STL languages is still stuck on manual generation. Therefore, in this paper, we build a model for transforming logic natural language to STL formulas with a substantial increase in accuracy and inference speed, compared to the previous translation approach. Firstly, we pre-train a large language model (llama2) for logical ability, then we archive unsupervised learning with randomly generated STL language as a dataset and instruction fine-tuning on NL-STL pairs. Finally, we achieve an excellent result comparing to the work before.

Public buses have emerged as an effective way for addressing traffic congestion, energy crises, and emission pollution due to their large occupancy capacities. Furthermore, with the characteristics of fixed-routes and the potential for deploying numerous detection devices without privacy concerns, a bus system becomes a promising candidate for the initial application of autonomous driving technologies. This paper cooperates the control of autonomous buses (ABs) and traffic signals to provide priority for buses in competition with private vehicles, so as to improve the total efficiency of bi-modal traffic flows at signalized intersections from the perspective of passengers. Vehicle flow dynamics for both traffic modes at local intersections are formulated. An optimization model for transit signal priority (TSP) is established for signal planning, where both strategies of green extension and red truncation are considered. Then, speed trajectory planning is conducted for ABs to catch TSP green time. An algorithm is developed to solve the speed of AB platoons. Real data collected from Foshan City in China are utilized to design numerical experiments in a microscopic traffic simulation to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

Recent advancements in real-time object detection frameworks have spurred extensive research into their application in robotic systems. This study provides a comparative analysis of YOLOv5 and YOLOv8 models, challenging the prevailing assumption of the latter's superiority in performance metrics. Contrary to initial expectations, YOLOv5 models demonstrated comparable, and in some cases superior, precision in object detection tasks. Our analysis delves into the underlying factors contributing to these findings, examining aspects such as model architecture complexity, training dataset variances, and real-world applicability. Through rigorous testing and an ablation study, we present a nuanced understanding of each model's capabilities, offering insights into the selection and optimization of object detection frameworks for robotic applications. Implications of this research extend to the design of more efficient and contextually adaptive systems, emphasizing the necessity for a holistic approach to evaluating model performance.

Inland water scenes are often intricate, and the impact of water highlights on the images captured in these settings is readily apparent. Image processing techniques are commonly employed to process pictures of inland waters. For example, when unmanned surface vehicle (USV) platforms are used to capture water images, the presence of highlight areas can detrimentally affect overall image quality. Therefore, it becomes imperative to eliminate highlights from the water surface in the images. The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of highlight removal in water images using Cycle-GAN (Generative Adversarial Network) architecture for training as a method for eliminating water surface highlights. Experiments were conducted using the USVInland dataset, and results indicate that the network effectively removes water surface highlights. The successful removal of image highlights demonstrates that properly trained networks have potential to yield favorable outcomes, thereby offering valuable insights for future research involving inland water imagery.

This paper explores the utilization of MATLAB for digital signal processing (DSP) techniques in image processing tasks, focusing on image deblurring, face detection, and facial feature enhancement. Blind deconvolution methods are employed to address image blurriness, while face detection is facilitated using cascaded object detectors. Enhancements to detected facial features involve histogram equalization, smoothing filters, skin tone adjustment, and contrast enhancement techniques, followed by seamless integration using resizing methods. MATLAB serves as a robust platform for implementing and analyzing DSP algorithms, providing insights into practical solutions for common challenges in digital image processing.

The increasing involvement of robots in our daily human life and the increasing need for interaction with them in manufacturing induced the appearance of a new generation of robots: collaborative robots or simply "cobots". The integration of cobots in various industries increases the need for HumanRobot Interaction since they are designed to be able to work in close collaboration with the human workforce. To ensure a successful Human-Robot Interaction, an effective communication strategy is required. Our goal is to develop such strategies, by creating contextually appropriate visual signals based on the findings with our online system. In this paper, we will focus on gesture generation for Human-Robot Interactions, to explore the signals that robots can use to make communication more understandable and effective for humans. In this research we tested a hypothesis regarding the background of a moving object type of signal. The results indicate, that the background does not affect the perceived affective state. On the other hand, the color of the moving object does.

The reconstruction of signals from partial data is a fundamental task in various applications, such as signal processing, computer vision, and time series analysis. Traditional interpolation techniques like polynomial fitting and frequency decomposition often struggle with complex or non-linear signals, particularly when the available data is limited or noisy. In this work, we explore the use of deep learning methods to address this signal reconstruction problem. Specifically, we present two neural network-based approaches: a simple autoencoder network and a convolutional neural network (CNN) autoencoder. The autoencoder is used to reconstruct 250-point time series from only 50 scattered data points, while the CNN autoencoder is applied to reconstruct 5000-point signals from 1000 downsampled points. Our results demonstrate that both neural network architectures significantly outperform classical polynomial interpolation, high-lighting the potential of deep learning as a powerful alternative for signal reconstruction tasks. The CNN-based method, in particular, exhibits a strong ability to capture relevant local patterns, allowing effective generalization even from heavily subsampled inputs. This work contributes to the growing body of research on applying deep learning to solve challenging problems in signal processing and time series analysis.

robotics School XYZ is an institution engaged in robotics Education that provides extracurricular robotics learning in several schools in the Bandung area. This institution was founded on the basis of seeing the rapid development of the world of robotics in various countries that are increasingly advanced. Learning Management System (LMS) is needed as a medium for processing student attendance data, student report cards, and e-learning administration. The purpose of this research is to find out how the planning, implementation and evaluation of the implementation of the Learning Management System (LMS) as well as in improving a more effective and efficient learning process at XYZ robotics School. The method used for software development is the Rational Unified Process (RUP) with the UML (Unified Modelling Language) model. Based on the research results that the website-based Learning Management System (LMS) at XYZ robotics School can improve students' learning experience by providing easy access to course materials and supporting independent learning, can monitor data in real-time, can help you make better decisions about teaching and learning and can automate administrative processes. © 2023 ieee.
