Regional surveillance is a common problem in operations in dense urban areas. In order to withdraw our side from the most dangerous areas to reduce damage or manpower consumption, it is of great military significance and application value to use unmanned systems to perform reconnaissance and surveillance tasks. Addressing the problem of cooperative monitoring in the case of small space and multiple unmanned platforms with adjacent initial positions, in view of some shortcomings of the semi heuristic grid method in traversing the target space, such as poor performance and easy to fall into local areas, the objective function is improved by introducing pheromones. The experimental results showed that the minimum access frequency after the introduction of this mechanism was larger, more grids got more access times, the access frequency to the target space was consistent with the access frequency to the grid, and it was not easy to fall into local areas;it also had good adaptability to the change of the number of obstacles in the environment. © 2024 ieee.

Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filters are essential components in digital signal processing, with their efficiency significantly influenced by the design of multipliers and adders. This work presents a novel Verilog-based implementation of a 4-tap FIR filter, prioritizing area and power optimization. By utilizing Braun multipliers and Ripple Carry Adders (RCAs), the design achieves a considerable reductions in resource utilization and energy consumption, making it ideal for low-power, compact applications. Detailed simulations and validations conducted using the Xilinx Vivado Design Suite 2024.2 demonstrate the accuracy and reliability of the proposed architecture, with results closely aligning with theoretical predictions. These findings underscore the practicality of the novel design for efficient digital signal processing in embedded systems. © 2025 ieee.

The markets for care robots and hospital robots are now in the early stages of commercial growth. Medical robotics is an emerging field in healthcare. However, during the COVID-19 outbreak, the hospital robots created for hospital decontamination have been crucial. In hospital settings, disinfection robots offer an added layer of defense. Hospital robots that clean hospital rooms are in high demand in a variety of geographical areas. The proposed system aims to make use of embedded systems, robotics, electrical engineering, natural language processing, computer vision, and software engineering to build a sustainable humanoid-assisted modular system in the medical field. © 2023 ieee.

The adoption of renewable energy sources is critical in addressing global energy challenges by providing sustainable alternatives to fossil fuels. Wind power stands out among these due to its vast availability and minimal environmental impact. Wind turbine technology is examined in relation to its application to renewable energy systems, emphasizing the efficiency of energy capture and conversion from the turbines. The pitch can be adjusted dynamically for optimal orientation in the wind, and the mechanical energy is transferred swiftly using gear boxing and electrical conversion with the aid of the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG). Measurement of electrical parameters like RMS at Times as soon as possible and implementing challenging control approaches, such as Fuzzy Logic Control (FLC), guarantees dependability regarding system stability as well as its ability to perform under fluctuating climate conditions. The proposed Fuzzy Logic Controlled-Maximum Power Point Tracking (FLC-MPPT) algorithm has been evaluated to have a peak power tracking efficiency of above 92.6% and a power tracking efficiency of around 95.7%. With a power output of 240 W, this method enables the efficient utilization of wind energy, contributing to green electricity supply networks and supporting the fight against climate change. © 2025 ieee.

The advancement of non-contact physiological signal monitoring technology is becoming increasingly important. This study combines millimeter-wave radar and advanced signal processing methods to accurately detect heart and respiratory signals. Variational Mode Decomposition (VMD), Dynamic Bandwidth Variational Mode Decomposition (DB-VMD), Fast Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition (fEEMD), and band-pass filters were employed to decompose radar signals into respiratory and cardiac components. The findings demonstrate that VMD and its variants outperform other methods, maintaining high accuracy across different distances and monitoring durations. Experimental results show that DB-VMD can effectively isolate vital signals even in noisy environments, making it well-suited for non-contact health monitoring applications. This study contributes to the development of reliable and user-friendly monitoring systems, enhancing patient comfort. © 2024 ieee.

Unmanned vehicles, such as drones, have surged in popularity in recent years. Swarms of these vehicles offer new opportunities in applications such as agriculture, weather monitoring and natural events management. However, efficiently controlling a large swarm of unmanned vehicles poses a significant challenge. intelligent solutions, particularly reinforcement learning, have been proposed to address this challenge. We introduce a proximity-based reward system for multi-agent reinforcement learning to handle the issue of reward sparsity. Our goal is to develop an approach for controlling a swarm towards a common objective while maintaining robust swarm cohesion. In this paper, we compare various distance-based functions to build a comprehensive reward system. Specifically, we explore the Euclidean, Manhattan, Chebyshev and Minkowski distances in our experiments. We evaluate the impact of these proximity-based reward systems on four reinforcement learning algorithms. We conduct a comparison of our reward systems using various metrics during validation and test episodes. Our goal is to highlight the importance of comparing different algorithms and distance functions in the development of multiagent reinforcement learning systems. © 2024 ieee.

In this paper, we present a novel reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-assisted integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) system with 1-bit quantization at the ISAC base station. An RIS is introduced in the ISAC system to mitigate the effects of coarse quantization and to enable the co-existence between sensing and communication functionalities. Specifically, we design a transmit precoder to obtain 1-bit sensing waveforms having a desired radiation pattern. The RIS phase shifts are then designed to modulate the 1-bit sensing waveform to transmit M-ary phase shift keying symbols to users. Through numerical simulations, we show that the proposed method offers significantly improved symbol error probabilities when compared to MIMO communication systems having quantized linear precoders, while still offering comparable sensing performance as that of unquantized sensing systems. © 2023 ieee.

In order to obtain a numeric model of the temperature distribution on the wafer in a rapid thermal processing system, a neural network method named Physics-Informed Neural Network (PINN) is proposed in this paper. The PINN architecture is constructed with a network structure where the loss function is restricted to satisfy the partial differential equation and the boundary condition of the physical laws of the system. The network is trained with a sampling which depends on the spatial topology of the system. The proposed PINN is compared to the finite element method with experimental results showing the effectiveness of the PINN approach. © 2023 ieee.

Target height estimation plays an important role in automotive radar parking scenarios or autonomous driving. For example, knowing a curb's height can assist in deciding whether it is traversable as well as avoiding collision. In this paper, two signal processing methods for this purpose are assessed. The first approach calculates the angle of arrival (AoA) of the received signals by processing the virtual channels offered by multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antennas. In the second method, the radar wave multipath propagation model in combination with super-resolution algorithms, namely ESPRIT and MUSIC, is exploited to calculate the curb height considering the geometry of antennas. The theory behind this method is discussed in detail, and the results are evaluated using a 77 GHz Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar. © VDE VERLAG GMBH ∙ Berlin ∙ Offenbach.
