Computer vision is the field that focuses on automating and combining various processes and representations used for visual perception. The subject encompasses numerous approaches that provide individual use, such as image processing. Image processing is converting, transforming and transferring an image. This method is the statistical categorization of patterns based on applying statistical decision theory. Computer vision systems are deployed in various environments, from the shop floor and hospital suite to Mars and surgical suits. Incorporating computer vision in manufacturing is a groundbreaking step towards elevating Industry 4.0 by enhancing efficiency, accuracy and connectivity. This is driven by the compelling benefits realized when computer vision can be used in a factory to create a safe environment for all stakeholders and operators, affording machines with visual perception and enabling them to process and act on the high-richness of environmental data given input by a camera. Computer vision integrated into manufacturing is a drastic step towards more intelligent, efficient and connected production methods as part of Industry 4.0. This paper discusses different features of the Industrial Revolution, the role of computer vision in Industrial Revolution 4.0, and how computer vision affected the Industrial Revolution in future industry development. As computer vision debuts firsthand in commercial use in manufacturing, so is the industry about to explode with unprecedented creativity and productivity. © 2024 ieee.

In light of the challenges associated with enhancing multimodal knowledge graph retrieval and improving embodied intelligence in dynamic environments, we propose the Multimodal Knowledge Graph Vision-Language System (MKGVL). This system is designed to enhance the reasoning and feedback capabilities of embodied intelligent systems by continuously updating the knowledge graph through real-time feedback from the Vision-Language Model (VLM). By integrating visual encoders, language models, and knowledge graph networks, MKGVL constructs a unified multimodal representation that enables adaptive decision-making and responsiveness to environmental changes. Experimental results show that MKGVL outperforms existing models in fine-grained retrieval tasks, achieving an 11.5% improvement in Rank1 accuracy and a mean Average Precision (mAP) of 97.49%. Further evaluations conducted on datasets such as ARKitScenes, MultiScan, and 3RScan highlight the model's robustness and adaptability. Additionally, MKGVL's deployment on embedded platforms like Jetson Orin demonstrates its efficiency in real-time multimodal tasks, particularly in resource-constrained environments. These findings underscore MKGVL's ability to deliver accurate and efficient multimodal processing, making it a strong solution for adaptive knowledge-based systems in complex settings. © 2024 ieee.

Transparent videos with alpha channels play a crucial role in film production, advertising, and augmented reality fields. However, there is currently no available method for producing transparent videos. Traditional methods are time-consuming and labor-intensive, and employing alternative approaches for this task will result in inaccurate transparent regions, constrained motion, and artifacts. To address these challenges, we propose Layer-Animate, the first method capable of generating transparent videos. Our method comprises two stages: in the first stage, transparent images are generated as the base images to provide content and transparency information for the next stage. In the second stage, Inter-Frame Attention is applied to decouple content from motion, enabling the motion module to focus better on action. Layer-Animate is the first method used to generate transparent videos with accurate transparent regions, sufficient motion, and no artifacts, as demonstrated by notable improvements in qualitative and quantitative metrics. © 2025 ieee.

The blind spots of heavy vehicles during right turns arise a safety concern for traffic. Hence, the regulation mandating heavy vehicles to come to a complete stop before making right turns is crucial in ensuring intersection safety. However, the current trajectory planning methods struggle to integrate these traffic regulations, and the restrictions imposed by such traffic rules greatly impact traffic efficiency at intersections. This paper proposes a signal temporal logic (STL) based trajectory planning method for connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs) at a signal-free intersection, where traffic rules for heavy vehicles are conveniently described by STL formulas. All CAVs at the intersection are modeled without predefined paths to enhance the flexibility of trajectories. Each STL formula is encoded in a standardized way as a conjunction of inequality and equality constraints for the optimization, and the whole trajectory planning of CAVs is achieved through solving a mixed-integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) problem. Simulation results indicate that our method improves traffic efficiency in the scenario with heavy vehicles right turns. © 2024 ieee.

Pedestrian intention prediction can be used in Advanced Driver Assistance systems to prevent pedestrian-vehicle collision in case of driver distractions. The use of these tools will reduce pedestrian fatalities in traffic accidents. In addition, predicting pedestrians' intention and avoiding collisions are parts of the functions of autonomous vehicles. Improving these models will lead to safer vehicles and higher levels of automation. In most studies, inspired from human behavior, sequences of spatial features, e.g. pedestrian's location, are considered as inputs. For more accurate prediction, temporal features are also extracted from these sequences of spatial features. We have realized that it is important to represent key objects to ensure model's perception of the scene. In this work, a spatio-temporal approach has been studied that predicts pedestrians' intention using spatial features of cropped images. We use the same strategy as our reference model for temporal features and feature fusion. We have modified the masking model of the reference model to reduce inference time, while we improve the performance. With inference time of 58 ms, we achieved accuracy, AUC and F1-Score of 0.90, 0.87, and 0.75 on JAAD dataset, respectively. © 2024 ieee.

Dynamic subarrays (DSs) is an energy-efficient and cost-effective hybrid beamforming structure for millimeter wave (mmWave) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communications. In this paper, we investigate the nonconvex hybrid beam-forming problem of maximizing the average spectral efficiency of the point-to-point wideband mmWave MIMO system with DSs, where the beam squints are also considered. To address the nonconvexity of this hybrid beamforming problem, we first exploit the singular value decomposition of each subcarrier channel and water-filling strategy to get the optimal fully-digital beamforming. We then propose to leverage the Kuhn-Munkres algorithm to get the hybrid beamforming from the obtained fully-digital solutions, aiming to guarantee that every radio-frequency chain is connected to at least one antenna. Besides, we analyze the computational complexity of the proposed design. Numerical results demonstrate the superiority of this work over the state of the art. © 2023 ieee.

Smart monitoring ensures that photovoltaic (PV) systems are linked with the grid in a flawless approach. As the use of renewable energy becomes more widespread, increasing PV-grid connection efficiencies will become more important. Real-time data and dynamic control can be achieved by connecting solar power plants to intelligent monitoring systems. In this study, a smart monitoring system based on a Multilayer Neural Network (MLNN) is developed in order to offer precise integration dependability, energy yield, and grid stability in accordance with the load need. The MLNN approach achieves intelligent monitoring in such a way that harmonizes the power generation of PV systems with the fluctuating conditions within the grid. © 2023 ieee.

Traditional recommendation systems often rely on explicit feedback, such as user ratings and favorites. However, this approach suffers from data sparsity and inaccuracy issues. In contrast, implicit feedback data, such as user browsing history and click records, is much richer. Therefore, this paper uses implicit feedback data as the basis for recommendations, models user behavior to uncover their potential interests, and transforms them into vector *** paper also introduces interactive interest modeling. This approach models user interest representations based on implicit feedback user behavior sequences. For sequence recommendation problems, we use a Transformer model to extract deeper features from interactive interest representations and use an attention mechanism to capture users' real-time interests. Experimental results on Kaggle datasets demonstrate that this method outperforms traditional implicit feedback recommendation methods in terms of accuracy and personalization. © 2023 ieee.

With the expansion of IoT application scenarios, the demand for edge IoT devices with integrated video analysis capabilities is gradually increasing. In remote areas where cellular base stations cannot reach, a low-cost wireless communication self-organizing network is urgently needed to transmit video processing results and images. LoRa has strong anti-interference performance and relatively high transmission rate, which is suitable for completing delay-tolerant information transmission. However, the traditional LoRaWAN protocol has low efficiency in image transmission. This paper proposes a multi-packet transmission communication protocol based on LoRa, which reduces the time for traditional communication protocol confirmation and processing, and focuses more on the image transmission of LoRa. Experimental results show that the multi-packet transmission protocol achieves relatively high communication efficiency. © 2023 ieee.

Vehicle-borne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) has the advantages of flexible configuration, convenient deployment, and long endurance, making it an effective means for high-resolution imaging of space targets such as geosynchronous (GEO) satellites. Due to the long distance between the SAR platform and the GEO satellite, it requires extremely long synthetic aperture time to achieve high-resolution imaging. In this case, GEO satellite motion cannot be ignored, which causes defocusing in SAR imaging. To address this issue, this paper derived an accurate slant range model between the GEO satellite and the vehicle-borne SAR platform. Based on this, the impact of GEO satellite motion on SAR imaging and the impact boundary are analyzed. The accuracy of the slant range model and the impact boundary is verified through simulation. © 2024 ieee.
