This paper focuses on the angle-of-arrival (AOA) target tracking problem using a mobile unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) equipped with an angle-of-arrival (AOA) sensor to observe targets in an external-denied (no global positioning system, inertial navigation system aid) environment. The mathematical formulations are based on two known anchors. The extended Kalman filter (EKF) is modified to calculate the UAV's and target's absolute coordinates. To improve the tracking accuracy, a gradient-based UAV path optimization algorithm using simultaneous perturbation stochastic approximation (SPSA) is developed. The geometry of anchors and UAV impacts the estimation accuracy, especially when the selected anchors are close to the target. The simulations have demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. © 2023 ieee.

Reconfigurable intelligent Surfaces (RIS) as a transformative technology in wireless communication, can significantly improve the wireless communication environment by adjusting the phase and amplitude of reflective elements. However, RIS assisted communication systems face a challenge where their numerous reflective elements necessitate significant pilot overhead for accurate channel estimation. In other words, the performance of channel estimation decreases when pilot resources are limited. We propose the channel map based channel estimation (CMCE) to address this issue. The CMCE scheme utilizes the signal processing capability of the RIS to acquire directional information of wireless channel paths at different user locations, and construct the channel map. Then the CMCE scheme optimizes the reflection coefficients of the RIS and focuses the reflected signals of the RIS in the receiving direction of the base station. The proposed scheme is simulated and compared to schemes without reflection coefficient optimization. The simulation results show that, under the same pilot overhead, the proposed scheme can significantly reduce the normalized mean square error (NMSE) of cascaded channel estimation.

The conventional cloud-enabled Internet of Things (IoTs) framework has seen several new sensing applications and techniques introduced by the blooming Internet of Things (IoTs) devices. As a result, the new network architecture gradually turns bidirectional, allowing IoT devices to do light processing in addition to serving as data harvesters. By moving some processing back to the 'local,' edge computing, a novel architecture that is on the horizon, dramatically reduces latency and reliance associated with standard cloud-enabled networks. But when edge computing returns data and models to IoT devices, new security threats appear. Big data is being produced by rapidly expanding smart city applications like smart delivery, smart communities, and smart health, and it's being shared freely online. systems for the Internet of Things (IoT) are central to smart city applications, as conventional cloud computing is unable to provide the essential needs of intelligent Internet of Things systems. Owing to the sensitive nature of smart city applications, several privacy-preserving techniques, including homomorphic encryption, differential learning, and anonymity, have been used over the years. In addition, the resource consumption for maintaining data privacy in edge computing environments - which have fewer resources than cloud data centers - has received little attention. Differential privacy (DP) in particular has proven to be a successful privacy-preserving technique in the context of edge computing. This paper focuses on implementing differential privacy in edge-enabled IoT systems to address these privacy concerns. As underwater vehicles widely used in ocean observation, the self-noise generated from the underwater platforms will affect the underwater acoustic signal observation, impeding signal detection. In this paper, we proposed an ideal binary mask (IBM) based Deep Neural Network (DNN) denoising method to reduce the broadband transient interference that underwater platforms caused. First, we analysis the interference produced by the underwater glider, illustrating its hazard by a common noisy situation. Then the IBM based DNN model was train to reduce this interference. Compared with spectral subtraction and Wiener filtering method, the method we proposed has short processing time of 0.15 $s$ in average, 7 dB higher signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) gain, and more complete retention of the original signal components in low SIR situations. © 2023 ieee.

As electric vehicle adoption and renewable energy integration rises globally;advanced battery monitoring is ever more essential. Precise determinations of State of Charge (SOC) and capacity are pivotal for optimizing performance over time, securing endurance, and maximizing efficiency. However, traditional approaches struggle with the nonlinear behavior and fading holding exhibited by modern battery arrays. This analysis explores merging machine learning methods, particularly Random Forest regression, with conventional techniques such as the UKF (Unscented Kalman Filter) and KF (Kalman Filter) for enhanced State of Charge and capacity projection. Using a sophisticated simulated Li-ion battery model comprising real-world factors like thermal effects and charging-discharging cycles, the examination contrasts the executions of the UKF and KF against the machine learning model. The results demonstrate that the machine learning-based approach, when combined with UKF and KF, significantly enhances State of Charge and capacity forecast precision. Namely, the hybrid strategy improves State of Charge estimation exactness to within 0.5% of real values and accomplishes a 12% advancement in capacity estimation precision contrasted with conventional techniques. These discoveries demonstrate the potential of joining machine learning with customary sifting strategies to fundamentally improve the exactness, dependability, and productivity of battery administration frameworks, guaranteeing preferable vitality use and RMSE of 68% expanding the operational lifetime of battery-subordinate advances. © 2025 ieee.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) spectrum sensing is susceptible to Spectrum Sensing Data Falsification (SSDF) attacks, which pose a threat to its data security. However, most existing SSDF defense strategies overlook transmission errors between secondary users (SUs) and fusion center (FC). Hence, this study introduces a reputation-based defense method against SSDF attacks for UAV spectrum sensing, accounting for potential transmission errors between UAVs and FC. Based on the probability of each UAV reporting correct sensing results, we assign a reputation value to each UAV and exclude those with a value lower than or equal to the threshold from participating in collaborative spectrum sensing. To enhance precision, we calculate the individual detection probability for each UAV. By evaluating performance under the same sensing environment and considering transmission errors, we compared our method with an error-free SSDF defense approach that ignores these errors. Simulation results confirm that calculating the individual detection probability yields more precise results, and our proposed method is more effective in distinguishing legitimate users. © 2024 ieee.

This paper focuses on the 3D model construction of a tandem-stage fixed-wing UAV and its kinematic simulation analysis. Through an in-depth understanding of the flight principle of a tandem-stage fixed-wing UAV, the equations of motion of this type of UAV are first constructed. Then the flight process of the UAV is exhaustively simulated and analysed using advanced kinematic analysis software. Under the set initial conditions, the dynamic relationship between the lift force and the flight speed and flight time of the UAV during the flight process was obtained, and the relationship between the thrust paddle centre-of-mass angular velocity amplitude, angular acceleration amplitude and the flight time was also explored, and the rule of change between the flight speed, lift force and flight time of the UAV was further *** concluding data from these simulation analyses not only provide an important reference basis for the design optimisation of the tandem fixed-wing UAV, but also lay a solid theoretical foundation for subsequent experimental verification and practical application. © 2024 ieee.

This study investigates the application of the YOLOv8 algorithm for enhanced object detection within traffic systems. Object detection, a crucial aspect of intelligent transportation systems, requires high accuracy and rapid processing for effective traffic monitoring and management. Previous approaches, including various versions of R-CNN and SSD, have offered trade-offs between speed, accuracy, and complexity. This paper explores YOLOv8's capabilities, highlighting its superior inference speed and accuracy improvements over its predecessors. The study leverages a rather novel dataset, focusing on optimizing model parameters to achieve high precision, recall, and F1 scores. Hyperparameters such as optimizer, batch size, epochs and learning rate have been tuned to improve the model’s performance results. The optimized YOLOv8 obtained great results with high precision and accuracy. An evaluation of YOLOv8 against other prominent models like SSD, EfficientDet, and Faster R-CNN is conducted to underscore its suitability for real-time traffic monitoring applications. This study's findings can significantly contribute to the field of traffic detection and intelligent transportation systems. © 2024 ieee.

Shooting intelligent Detection System has important applications in the military industry. Existing target shooting systems mainly face problems such as high cost, complex operation, and poor environmental adaptability. Considering the above limitations, in this paper we propose a fast, low-cost, and easy-to-deploy bullet hole recognition algorithm based on visual detection, which mainly consists of four parts: image preprocessing, extraction of target center, bullet hole extraction and ring value determination. In the process of bullet hole extraction, a method for segmenting effective target surface is proposed to cope with the problem of off-target bullet holes. Our method can not only accurately localize the bullet holes, but also obtain the exact ring value at that location. In addition, due to the robust adaptability of our method, it can even be applied to outdoor scenarios. © 2023 ieee.
