Temporal concept shift (TCS) is an unavoidable problem in physiological signal-based emotion recognition tasks, i.e., the data distribution of physiological signals is constantly changing over time, which gradually degrades the model accuracy. To this end, we propose a method based on a combination of domain adaptation and incremental learning to reduce the impact of temporal concept drift. In this paper, domain adaptation is used to reduce the distribution differences and incremental learning is used to prevent the learned knowledge from being forgotten. Finally, we validate the effectiveness of our approach on two real datasets. © 2023 ieee.

This paper explores the design, construction, and operation of a hexapod robot inspired by insect locomotion, capable of navigating diverse terrains and performing intricate maneuvers. The development process includes mechanical, electrical, and control systems. The robot's body was modeled using Fusion 360 and 3D printed for cost-effectiveness and ease of modification, allowing rapid prototyping and iterative improvements. Custom PCBs designed with KiCAD reduce wiring complexity and ensure a compact form factor, enhancing the robot's internal architecture and reliability. The electronics are managed by an Arduino Mega Pro MINI, selected for its compact size and adequate processing power. The robot is programmed using the Arduino IDE, with modified open-source code to meet project requirements, ensuring a robust control system for various tasks. Initial programming focuses on enabling free navigation, essential for basic movements and environmental response. Future enhancements include sophisticated programming for obstacle avoidance and self-adjustment on uneven terrain, increasing adaptability and functionality. The primary objective is reliable free navigation, with subsequent improvements targeting advanced obstacle avoidance and terrain adaptability. Future iterations aim to increase durability by transitioning to an aluminum chassis and optimizing servo housing. This approach not only improves strength but also performance in extreme conditions, demonstrating the potential of 3D printing and custom PCB design for rapid prototyping and optimization in robotics. © 2024 ieee.

intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRS) can improve the performance of backscatter communication systems by employing reconfigurable phase shifts (or passive beamforming) to favorably configure the wireless propagation medium. However, the design of optimal IRS phase shifts requires channel state information (CSI), which is hard to acquire in a multi-reflection channel. In this paper, we propose a deep learning based framework that learns the desired IRS phase shifts without knowing the channels, to assist the communication of a passive backscatter tag. This is achieved by parameterizing the mapping from the received pilots to the desired configuration of IRS by training a deep neural network (DNN) BIRS-Net on a sufficiently large dataset covering a variety of channel realizations and possible power splitting ratios at the backscatter tag. Simulation results show that the proposed DNN based solution can efficiently learn to maximize the SNR of backscatter transmission and exhibits near optimal performance.

Here a new model of single inductor employed quadratic structured multilayer boost converter circuit is developed to be implemented in high-gain renewable energy systems. The study and functioning of a photovoltaic system utilizing a hybrid dc-dc configuration as a high step-up converter along with the incorporation of the Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technique are elucidated here. The characteristics of the quadratic multi-layered converter circuit have been tuned to provide high voltage gain and efficacy (98%) with minimal ripple contamination in input current. To ensure the adaptability of the proposed circuit, a distinct performance comparison of various topologies has been executed. The proposed circuitry showed improvement across all evaluated aspects compared to other existing topologies. The performance analysis of the recommended structure has been substantiated by PSIM and MATLAB Simulink software. © 2023 ieee.

To design active analog, discrete-analog and digital filters a new method is suggested, taking into account the conditions of selective invariance and using the internal models principle of the dynamic systems. For this purpose, the structure of each basic filter ensures the presence of an explicit spectral model of the filtered signal. Such a filter is selectively invariant, and this property depend only on the spectrum-setting parameters and do not depend on other parameters. It is suggest-ed to carry out the design of the combined selective filters by integration of the suggested basic second-order filters, focusing on the log magnitude plot of the latter. This makes possible to minimize the order of the combined both analog and digital filters. The combined selective filters are distinguished by high stability of selective properties and can be used in the systems for measurement, signal processing, data transmission, as well as automatic and automated control of various social, production and special facilities. © 2024 ieee.

The application of unmanned vehicles in industrial cargo transportation is becoming increasingly widespread, particularly playing a significant role in transporting heavy-duty goods. However, when performing such tasks, whether in single-vehicle transportation or multi-vehicle collaborative transportation, the occurrence of wheel failures can potentially lead to serious safety accidents. Therefore, this paper proposes a fault-tolerant control scheme, establishing a kinematic model considering disturbances and failures, and adopts model predictive control for trajectory tracking. Additionally, an extended state observer is introduced to observe system states and counteract disturbances. To address potential failure issues, a controller reconstruction strategy is proposed. Finally, the effectiveness and superiority of the controller is validated through numerical simulation and comparative experiment. © 2024 ieee.

There is a constant push for automation, portability, and remote control in the management systems of all organizations. A new IoT -based multifunctional smart energy meter is presented in this paper for automated metering and billing system. Arduino Nano with GSM Short Message Service (SMS) connection provides a meter reading system with predefined automatic functions followed by ESP-8266 WiFi Module to monitor energy parameters. Proteus 8.0 was used to model the project before the hardware implementation was built. With the GSM module and embedded controller, the proposed system can transmit data such as kWh consumption and generated bills over the GSM network, which can then be fed into existing energy management systems at power companies or organizations to provide services to customers without the need for human intervention. As a result, consumer energy analysis is made considerably simpler and more manageable. This device aids in the detection of power theft as well. As a result, this smart meter facilitates wireless connection and home automation utilizing IoT, which is a significant step towards a Digital Bangladesh. Moreover, a prepaid mode is incorporated as part of billing system. © 2023 ieee.

This study evaluates, compares and discuss the approaches of COBIT and ISO 27001 in auditing the Credit Bureau Automation System (CBAS) at PT XYZ. The authors employ a qualitative comparative analysis to explore and synthesize qualitative information from scholarly sources. This study concludes that ISO 27001 is better suited for auditing CBAS as it has a strong focus on information security and risk management, as well as flexibility to tailor to client needs. In contrast, COBIT has a more generalized scope and covers broader IT topics. However, the authors suggest that both frameworks can complement each other in an audit, depending on the organization's specific needs. This study also highlights the strengths of COBIT, such as its comprehensive framework that enables organizations to attain their goals in corporate IT governance and management, and suggests a simplified IT risk management maturity audit system based on 'COBIT 5 for Risk' to evaluate the maturity of IT risk management in an organization. Overall, this study provides valuable insights into the applicability of COBIT and ISO 27001 in auditing CBAS and offers suggestions for organizations to improve their IT governance and risk management practices. © 2023 ieee.

To address the challenges of energy conservation, emission reduction, and the dual-carbon strategy, the integration of photovoltaic solar panels has become increasingly important in the energy management of 5G Base Stations (BS). Efficient energy scheduling is essential to accommodate the growing number of users and traffic demands. To optimize the energy efficiency and service quality of BS, this paper proposes an intelligent decision model based on the Decision Transformer (DT), named Return-to-Go Predicting Decision Transformer (PDT). This model incorporates training for the target return-to-go (RTG) during the training phase, enabling it to auto-matically select an appropriate RTG during inference based on the environment. This approach enhances the model's accuracy and performance in complex environments. Simulation results demonstrate the PDT can dynamically adjust the working status of base stations, as well as the use of photovoltaic solar panels and batteries, thereby achieving optimization of base station energy consumption and efficient utilization of photovoltaic energy, and its adaptability and robustness in scenarios with varying numbers of base stations surpass the current state-of-the-art reinforcement learning algorithms. © 2024 ieee.

In this paper, we propose a wideband channel estimation scheme for millimeter wave (mmWave) systems, where a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) is deployed to assist the wireless communication between the base station and users. Based on the sparsity nature of the mmWave channel, we transform the channel estimation problem into a sparse signal recovery problem. The common support assumption is no longer satisfied when we consider the wideband effect, therefore, we design adaptive blocks to detect the support of each subcarrier, and propose the adaptive block simultaneous orthogonal matching pursuit (ABSOMP) algorithm. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme can achieve better performance when compared with conventional compressive sensing (CS) based methods.
