Recently, modeling of decision making and control systems that include heterogeneous smart sensing devices (machines) as well as human agents as participants is becoming an important research area due to the wide variety of applications including autonomous driving, smart manufacturing, internet of things, national security, and healthcare. To accomplish complex missions under uncertainty, it is imperative that we build novel human machine collaboration structures to integrate the cognitive strengths of humans with computational capabilities of machines in an intelligent manner. In this paper, we present an overview of the existing works on human decision making and human machine collaboration within the scope of signal processing and information fusion. We review several application areas and research domains relevant to human machine collaborative decision making. We also discuss current challenges and future directions in this problem domain.

Big data technology is the next frontier for innovation, competition, and productivity. Big data analytics in the manufacturing industry is mainly used to process massive data in various manufacturing activities. Today, many industrial companies are starting discussions on the importance of DSS ( Decision Support systems) and its cloud processing capability. In recent years different approaches have been developed to provide appropriate solutions for big data and DSS. In this work, we will carry out detailed bibliographical research on the methods and applications of big data for decision making and provide a classification for them. Even if this bibliographic review does not call on all the studies carried out in this field, we believe that it can constitute a valuable source of information, particularly for practitioners in big data and intelligent Decision-Making.

Aquatic Robots have a critical role to enhance oceanography studies, enable search and rescue scenarios, and basically enable performing tasks that without them, would be too dangerous or even impossible for humans alone. Among the different types of Aquatic prototypes, robots with laser-following features offer enhanced precision, adaptability, simplified guidance, object tracking, and research opportunities due to their suitability for multiple applications. Thereby, this paper explores the design and implementation of an Autonomous Aquatic Robot, capable of following a laser beam through an arrange of multiple RGB sensors feeding an embedded Artificial Neural Network (ANN), optimally trained through a metaheuristic algorithm (Earthquake Optimization Algorithm) to create a laser-following robot. Experimental results validate how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be applied to generate a control structure for a laser-following robot, with over 99% of accuracy to generate activation signals by the laser presence detection, to provide a reliable signal for the autonomous prototype. © 2023 ieee.

Color normalization in histopathology is a prominent research topic in the image processing field as color in histopathology images plays a crucial role in diagnosis. As computer-aided diagnosis emerged, color normalization is much crucial as it becomes the foundation of medical image processing to assure algorithm precision and accuracy. In this paper, the main objective is to perform an analysis on three commonly used color normalization methods, namely histogram matching, histogram equalization, and stain unmixing methods. 60 breast histopathology images were used for testing purposes. Four statistical metrics were calculated to measure and determine the applicability of the color normalization methods: Structural similarity index measure (SSIM), Pearson's correlation coefficient (PCC), visual saliency-induced index (VSI), and Gradient similarity (GS). Based on the outputs, it is found that the stain unmixing method demonstrates better than that of the histogram matching and histogram equalization methods with higher values in SSIM and VSI, and comparable values in PCC and GS.

With the rapid development of neural networks and deep learning, speech synthesis technology has been significantly improved. The end-to-end speech synthesis systems based on deep learning have been able to synthesize speech with naturalness close to the original human pronunciation. However, the existing end-to-end speech synthesis system model is complex, and it is impossible to achieve real-time speech synthesis on devices with low computing power. In this paper, a multi-band discriminative autoregressive speech synthesis model is proposed based on natural language processing. The model uses an encoder-decoder architecture with attention mechanism, which is mainly composed of DSC-GRN modules. Stacking multiple convolutions with different expansion coefficients by gating the residual structure can increase the receptive field so that the encoder and decoder can pay attention to the context information with a longer time span, which can improve the performance of the model. The whole model uses full convolution architecture and can be trained in parallel. Compared with the existing autoregressive model, the number of parameters of the model is greatly reduced. The synthesis speed is improved, and the quality of synthesized speech is ensured. © 2022 ieee.

The drinking water crisis is one of the prime issues in all over the world. Almost half of the populations of the world isolated from this blessing. Insufficiency of electricity plays a great role in their situations, as without electricity we cannot run a pump. Renewable energy is one of the suitable answers to solve the problem. The most effective resources of renewable energy are solar energy, which could solve this crisis. This research presents a performance analysis of the solar-based water pump controlling system and water quality measuring system using arduino mega. The main objective of this research is to automatically control the water pump and single-axis tracking for solar. Besides, the pH and turbidity of the reserve tank water show into the liquid crystal display (LCD) by using arduino's command. If the turbidity sensor senses the water is polluted then the automatically send the tank's water to the filter for purifying and if the pH level of the water is high or low, the device automatically stops sending the water to the supply. In both cases turbidity low, pH high, and low), the GSM module sends a warning notification to the selected cellular device by using the arduino's command. This work is divided into two parts hardware and software systems. In the hardware part, four light dependent resistors (LDR) are used to sense the maximum light side from the sun. One linear actuator used to move the solar panel to the maximum light source location perceived by the LDRs. In the software part, the code is written by using C programming language and has targeted to the arduino mega controller. In this idea, arduino mega controls the whole thing. An automatic water pump can reduce the loss of pure water. © 2023 ieee.

Visual emotion recognition is a very large field. It plays a very important role in different domains such as security, robotics, and medical tasks. The visual tasks could be either image or video. Unlike the image processing, the difficulty of video processing is always a challenge due to changes in information over time variation. Significant performance improvements when applying deep learning algorithms to video processing. This paper presents a deep neural network based on ResNet50 model. The latter is conducted on the Ryerson Audio-Visual Database of Emotional Speech and Song (RAVDESS) due to the variance of the nature of the data exists which is speech and song. The choice of ResNet model is based on the ability of facing different problems such as of vanishing gradients, the performing stability offered by this model, the ability of CNN for feature extraction which is considered to be the base architecture for ResNet, and the ability of improving the accuracy results and minimizing the loss. The achieved results are 57.73% for song and 55.52% for speech. Results shows that the Resnet50 model is suitable for both speech and song while maintaining performance stability.

The D-band (110-170GHz) is intended to provide tens of GHz bandwidth for beyond 5G very high data rate communications. The huge available band is split into multiple aggregated sub-bands. Managing such a number of bands is difficult using conventional heterodyne receiver. A different approach is proposed here relying on analogue projection in wavelet basis. In this paper, the signal projection in the Walsh/Hadamard domain is considered. The paper shows that the projection of aggregated channels into the parallelized Walsh analog architecture can relax the bandwidth constrains and the resolution of A/D conversion. The proposed architecture is deeply reconfigurable, allowing some AI to adjust the receiver for either communication purposes or spectrum sensing.

intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) has emerged as a promising technology that open-up the window for manipulating the wireless channel. This introduced an additional degree of freedom in designing the future wireless communication system. The performance of a simple aerial IRS (AIRS) assisted wireless communication system is investigated in this paper by jointly optimizing the active and passive beamforming to maximize the sum-rate (SR). An alternating iterative algorithm is exploited to convert the non-convex optimization problem into two suboptimal problems corresponding to the active and passive beamforming. The simulated results highlight the possible SR gain that one can achieve through optimization in comparison to the un-optimized scenario. It also demonstrates the fact that optimization of beamforming also enhances the power efficiency of the system and also the impact of the IRS structure. © 2023 ieee.

Due to the physiological constraints and daily habits of hand movements, the wrist chattering effect (WCE) will inadvertently cause disturbance to the accuracy of fingers' pattern recognition, when healthy subjects or amputees undergoing mirror training control their fingers according to instructions. This paper proposes a method for estimating WCE angles using a disturbance observer. Based on the Denavit-Hartenberg (D-H) convention and inverse kinematics, the intervals of the WCE during finger flexion and extension are determined. The research objective is to eliminate disturbance terms containing redundant information referring to sliding mode anti-jittering methods, making subsequent machine learning models less susceptible to disturbances. © 2023 ieee.
