Meeting gridlocks at busy traffic signals is major obstacle for Emergency Vehicles (EmV). High priority vehicles like ambulances and fire trucks are made to snag through bottleneck traffic. It is crucial to detect their arrival at traffic signal and clear the traffic in that particular lane. In this paper, a solution for easing the movement of EmVs and prioritizing them in congested traffic lanes is addressed using YOLO V5 for video detection, and VGGNet architecture with Linear classifier model in audio detection. Though there are few existing solutions which solve this issue to some extent, none of them addressed the major problem of prioritization. Prioritizing the fastest EmV by detecting its speed using image processing, when multiple EmVs are encountered at a single traffic signal is a unique feature of the proposed work. The proposed model was tested with real-time videos, demonstrating improved performance when compared to existing solutions. © 2022 ieee.

In order to make up for the shortcomings of traditional manual tracking, such as low efficiency and high cost, this paper proposes a UAV-assisted identification and tracking system based on Beidou navigation and 5G communication. By importing the tracked person information into this system, the police can automatically extract features and identify them, and use the PSO algorithm to plan the route, quickly lock the tracked object, and assist the police in back-end decision-making. Reasonable investment in drone projects is not only related to the expected investment returns of government departments and social investors, but also closely related to the vigorous development of the drone industry. This paper also comprehensively evaluates the far-reaching significance of the application of this system for the police to better carry out tracking tasks in the future from the financial perspectives of economic and social benefits. © 2022 ieee.

In this paper, we study efficient channel estimation design for an extremely large-scale intelligent reflecting surface (XL-IRS) assisted multi-user communication system, where both the base station (BS) and users are located in the near-field region of the XL-IRS. Two unique channel characteristics of XL-IRS are considered, namely, the near-field spherical wavefronts and double-sided visibility regions (VRs) at the BS and users, which render the channel estimation for XL-IRS highly challenging. To address this issue, we propose in this paper an efficient three-step XL-IRS channel estimation method. Specifically, in the first step, an anchor node is delicately deployed near the XL-IRS to estimate the cascaded BS-IRS-anchor channel. Then, an efficient VR detection method is devised to estimate the VR information between the BS and XL-IRS. In this way, only the channels from the visible XL-IRS elements to the BS are estimated, thereby reducing the dimension of the cascaded BS-IRS-users channels to be estimated. Third, by leveraging the common BS-IRS channel, the cascaded channels for all users are consecutively estimated accounting for the VRs of the IRS-user channels. Finally, numerical results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed channel estimation scheme as compared to various benchmark schemes. © 2024 ieee.

This article introduces an approach to provide privacy control on live video feeds using a pretrained D NN model. Due to privacy being a major concern in today's world, this approach would ensure the blurring of the faces in live feeds on a real-time basis to protect the privacy of participants. Users are also provided with the liberty to selectively blur/unblur the face of any specific participants as required, thereby providing enhanced flexibility and control over privacy settings during live video conferences or communications. The proposed approach also lets users upload a picture of someone. This ensures that the person's identity stays unobfuscated in the video stream. This feature comes in handy when some people are required to be seen, for example, in work meetings and online conferences. The developed solution can blur faces in real time and let users unblur or keep certain faces clear. This gives users a complete set of tools to handle privacy concerns. It tackles the growing concerns about facial privacy in our digital world. This solution enhances privacy during live video calls by utilizing advanced computer vision to selectively blur unwanted faces while maintaining clear visibility of intended participants.

Biohybrid robotics integrates living tissues with synthetic systems, enabling robots to perform nature-inspired functions. Recent advancements include biohybrid (BH) sensors for highly sensitive and selective detection, BH reactors replicating organ-like processes for drug testing and artificial organ development, BH actuators enabling efficient and silent movement, and BH processors offering energy-efficient signal processing and adaptive learning. Future biohybrid robots may feature living skin and energy systems that metabolize food, potentially serving roles in organ transplantation. Although challenges such as scalability, stability, and ethical considerations remain, interdisciplinary research continues to drive progress, merging biology and engineering to address critical societal needs.

In the context of visual navigation-based civil aircraft assistance systems, the scene target scales captured by onboard cameras exhibit significant variations, and the computational power of airborne platforms is limited. To promptly and accurately identify threat targets in airborne scenic images, a lightweight multi-scale object detection algorithm based on improved YOLOv5s is proposed. Firstly, on the foundation of the Weighted Bidirectional Feature Pyramid Network (BIFPN), a Coordinate Attention (CA) mechanism is integrated to design the CA-BIFPN feature fusion network. This enhances feature representation for small targets and improves the model's learning capability for multi-scale targets. Secondly, a cross-level sub-network module is employed to lightweightly process the neck section, reducing the model's parameter count and thereby improving the overall network's detection speed. Experimental results on a self-constructed scene image dataset demonstrate that the proposed method achieves a detection frame rate of 89FPS, an increase of 5fps. The average precision mean (mAP) on the test set is 70.6%, a 3.4% improvement over the original YOLOv5s. The detection accuracy surpasses typical algorithms such as YOLOv6, YOLOv7, YOLOX, and Faster-RCNN. © 2024 ieee.

Recently, modeling of decision making and control systems that include heterogeneous smart sensing devices (machines) as well as human agents as participants is becoming an important research area due to the wide variety of applications including autonomous driving, smart manufacturing, internet of things, national security, and healthcare. To accomplish complex missions under uncertainty, it is imperative that we build novel human machine collaboration structures to integrate the cognitive strengths of humans with computational capabilities of machines in an intelligent manner. In this paper, we present an overview of the existing works on human decision making and human machine collaboration within the scope of signal processing and information fusion. We review several application areas and research domains relevant to human machine collaborative decision making. We also discuss current challenges and future directions in this problem domain.

Aquatic Robots have a critical role to enhance oceanography studies, enable search and rescue scenarios, and basically enable performing tasks that without them, would be too dangerous or even impossible for humans alone. Among the different types of Aquatic prototypes, robots with laser-following features offer enhanced precision, adaptability, simplified guidance, object tracking, and research opportunities due to their suitability for multiple applications. Thereby, this paper explores the design and implementation of an Autonomous Aquatic Robot, capable of following a laser beam through an arrange of multiple RGB sensors feeding an embedded Artificial Neural Network (ANN), optimally trained through a metaheuristic algorithm (Earthquake Optimization Algorithm) to create a laser-following robot. Experimental results validate how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be applied to generate a control structure for a laser-following robot, with over 99% of accuracy to generate activation signals by the laser presence detection, to provide a reliable signal for the autonomous prototype. © 2023 ieee.

The drinking water crisis is one of the prime issues in all over the world. Almost half of the populations of the world isolated from this blessing. Insufficiency of electricity plays a great role in their situations, as without electricity we cannot run a pump. Renewable energy is one of the suitable answers to solve the problem. The most effective resources of renewable energy are solar energy, which could solve this crisis. This research presents a performance analysis of the solar-based water pump controlling system and water quality measuring system using arduino mega. The main objective of this research is to automatically control the water pump and single-axis tracking for solar. Besides, the pH and turbidity of the reserve tank water show into the liquid crystal display (LCD) by using arduino's command. If the turbidity sensor senses the water is polluted then the automatically send the tank's water to the filter for purifying and if the pH level of the water is high or low, the device automatically stops sending the water to the supply. In both cases turbidity low, pH high, and low), the GSM module sends a warning notification to the selected cellular device by using the arduino's command. This work is divided into two parts hardware and software systems. In the hardware part, four light dependent resistors (LDR) are used to sense the maximum light side from the sun. One linear actuator used to move the solar panel to the maximum light source location perceived by the LDRs. In the software part, the code is written by using C programming language and has targeted to the arduino mega controller. In this idea, arduino mega controls the whole thing. An automatic water pump can reduce the loss of pure water. © 2023 ieee.

Today, many industrial companies are starting discussions on the importance of DSS ( Decision Support systems) and its cloud processing capability. In recent years different approaches have been developed to provide appropriate solutions for big data and DSS. In this work, we will carry out detailed bibliographical research on the methods and applications of big data for decision making and provide a classification for them. Even if this bibliographic review does not call on all the studies carried out in this field, we believe that it can constitute a valuable source of information, particularly for practitioners in big data and intelligent Decision-Making.
