This conference paper presents a novel and efficient system for inspecting the size of spring rolls using advanced deep image processing techniques. With the increasing demand for high-quality food products in the food industry, ensuring the consistency and precision of dimensions in spring rolls is crucial for both manufacturers and consumers. Traditional inspection methods often fall short in accuracy and speed, motivating the exploration of innovative technologies such as deep learning. The proposed system leverages state-of-the-art deep neural networks to analyze high-resolution images of spring rolls captured during the manufacturing process. A convolutional neural network (CNN) architecture is employed to train on a diverse dataset of annotated spring roll images to accurately detect and measure the dimensions of individual rolls. The integration of deep image processing technologies not only improves the accuracy of size inspection but also contributes to increased production efficiency and reduced waste.

Electrification as part of the trend towards energy efficiency, is going on also in mobile machines. An essential part of their operation is to perform various tasks with booms. This study presents and discusses a new log crane actuation system architecture. The solution includes one electrohydraulic unit that supplies all actuators. Distinctive aspect of the system is a direct control of the movement of the lift cylinder via a central supply line, while other system actuators are controlled by pressure-compensated directional control valves. The solution is characterized by compactness and simplicity, and mathematical model simulation showed its high energy efficiency. However, the implementation of the system sets some limitations on cylinder parameters.

With the UTILIZATION of system models, the concept of using system models in different application scenarios apart from the initial model purpose as well as other lifecycle stages is feasible. In the realm of system of systems (SoS), where the complexity is notably elevated, it is fundamental to generate comprehensive models that elucidate the interdependencies among systems. This undertaking necessitates an extension of the conventional UTILIZATION of system models with an adaptation to the unique challenges presented by SoS.
