The technology Readiness Level (TRL) scale has been proposed and used for a few decades by NASA and the Department of Defense (DoD) to assess the maturity of a technology. The TRL measure starts at 1 and stops at 9 when the technology is accepted and initiates the operational phase of the lifecycle. The current TRL measure is not designed to monitor the system as it matures, ages, and eventually becomes obsolete. However, the DoD and NASA manage, maintain, and operate various system of systems that provide unique functions and services for prolonged lifecycles. Many of these systems of systems contain technologies that age, drift from their original requirements, experience restrictions from dynamic political and economic landscapes, and experience obsolescence through the introduction of disruptive technologies. There is a critical need for a new measure to monitor the status of the relevance of a system throughout its entire lifecycle. This paper proposes an extension to the existing TRL scale that picks up where the traditional TRL stops measuring (Level 9). We propose an extended technology Relevance Level (eTRL) that measures the contextual relevance of a system beyond its original readiness level and monitors the risks associated with the system as it ages, adapts, faces various environmental, political, and economic changes, or becomes obsolete. The proposed extended measure will enable the stakeholders and program managers to describe the aging segments or systems within a legacy system and enable informed decisions of repairs, upgrades, investment in disruptive technologies, and retirement of such systems.

As a fast developing tour business branch in China, theme park needs to build up a collaborative commerce platform to improve the cooperation relationship with their brother enterprise and business partner. With the characteristics of autonomy, easy adaptation, flexibility and dynamic of Agent technology, the authors put forward a collaborative commerce model based on Multi-Agent system (MAS) technology. It can be used to describe the interaction relationship with partners and run on the cooperation among the different MAS layers. NAND flash memories are currently the de facto secondary storage technology in the embedded system domain thanks to their benefits mainly in terms of energy consumption, I/O performance, and data storage density. This Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) technology has even made substantial strides into enterprise storage systems. However, flash memories have particular constraints that are mainly the limited lifetime, the erase-before-write rule, and the write/erase operation granularity asymmetry. Those peculiarities are either handled in hardware, throughout a specific controller, or in software, with the help of a dedicated Flash File system (FFS). This paper presents a comprehensive study on the impact of different FFS implementations of wear leveling and garbage collection on flash memory performance and lifetime according to different initial states. This study is an attempt to push state-of-the-art work on FFSs by adding some flash memory specific features micro-benchmarking techniques.

Inertial navigation systems (INSs) can be considered as one of the key features of the current state-of-art navigation systems. In this regard, we propose an INS/Global navigation satellite system (GNSS) navigation system that is based on a FUZZY adaptive Extended Kalman filtering estimation. We have tested our proposed scheme using real experimental data that are obtained from low-cost instruments. Our results showed that the proposed scheme has achieved a better accuracy when compared with the state-of-art extended Kalman filter (EKF) navigation.

Several speed controls for an electric vehicle (EV) system were designed. The EV system was modelled as an integrated battery electric vehicle (IBEV) model with the battery dynamics clearly belonging to the model. The integrated model was tested on a testbed platform with the speed controllers to find out which one achieves the highest energy efficiency. To get precise measurement results from the sensor, the experiment was done twice. From the results, the energy consumption for each controller was calculated with a number of energy formulations. The speed controllers that were tested in this study can be developed further based on the performance index in order to achieve more energy efficiency.

Currently, several websites are available to help beginners to pick their computer components in order to build their own Personal Computer (PC) based on their budget and needs. However, there is still no reliable websites to select computer parts with compatibility guidance in Malaysia. Thus, to address the issue, a web-based application named PCPartHunter is developed to help users especially Malaysians to buy compatible computer parts. By using this system, users do not have to worry about buying incompatible computer parts. The rule-based approach is used for developing this expert system. In order to scrape data from the web, PHP Simple HTML DOM Parser is applied which allows the extraction of HTML contents. The data is updated on daily basis using Windows Task Scheduler. By using this technique, users will always get the latest value of the computer components' price. PCPartHunter will help a lot of users especially Malaysians to buy compatible computer parts and start building their own computers.
