In order to achieve the requirement that the rotating speed of a rotor can be automatically controlled and measured by computer, a new control and measurement scheme based on computer technique is investigated in this paper. The scheme uses an inverter to control the electric motor. And meanwhile, a data acquisition system is used to sample the impulse signal to compute the rotating speed of the rotor. A test experiment, subsequently, is performed on a rotor-bearing rig. Experiment results show that the proposed scheme not only can automatically control the rotating speed of the rotor but also can accurately measuring its real-time speed.

In order to develop the service outsourcing industry for Chinese economy, a large amount of professional staff need to be supplied to the relevant enterprises. Therefore, the universities build up the corresponding major and an innovative education system to train the students for the outsouring industry which is also called international Service engineering (ISE). The education system consists of course teaching, scientific research and practical training. These three components are closely combined and influence each other. The engineers from the enterprises and the faculty of the institute cooperate to teach the major courses for the students, who can also be instructed in the research center to carry out the scientific research. The practical training aims that more than 80% graduated students have experienced the internships in enterprises. In conclusion, this education system is built based on the features of ISE, and sets the targets to provide the productivity for ISE and facilitate the students to obtain employment.

Advancement of technology has made it possible to facilitate the delivery of education through an e-learning system almost anywhere and anytime beyond a physical space. To achieve learners' satisfaction and increase acceptance of e-learning among students, an investigation of the technological aspects of e-learning system is urgently needed. The purpose of this study was to identify the most important aspects of an e-learning system that may influence users' perceived usefulness of the e-learning system in Malaysian context. A pilot study was conducted on 100 engineering students at a local university. The findings revealed that four variables namely ease of access, interface design, system quality and internet quality were the most important factors affecting the satisfaction of the e-learning system.

With an increasing demand in industry in recent years, multi-state system often subject to multiple bottlenecks such as reliability, availability, maintenance, safety, production planning lots, delivering requirement and so on, thus cause PHM theory for complex multi-state system has become an emerging research topic in both industry and academia. This paper is focused on the optimal multivariate bayesian modeling and developing new PHM methodology for complex mining and metallurgy equipment multi-state system. The method incorporates multivariate bayesian model technique to address key challenges and critical issues in exploring new PHM technology for complex mining and metallurgy equipment multi-state system. An illustrative example from a jaw crusher equipment shows this approach can be used to improve PHM's performance in terms of the availability, reliability and maintainability of the complex mining and metallurgy equipment multi-state system as well as lower false alarm rate and cost.

Bulk-liquid food industry is identified as the most difficult industry in building a traceability system. A previous study has recommended an information system improvement. Therefore, the information system is proposed and discussed in this paper to improve the traceability system in the bulk-liquid food industry. This paper focused on the development of a bulk-liquid traceability information system architecture and prototype in Indonesian Coconut Oil Company. The system prototype has been verified. It was proven to reduce tracing and tracking time significantly. This system is also equipped with a feature to create a clear lot separation so as to prevent total recall. Finally, a future research direction is proposed.
