In order to solve large scale production of edible fungus, the writer has proposed a full set of remote monitor system of edible fungus greenhouse, which is on the basis of cloud platform and ZigBee technique. The system constitutes three layers: The sensor and control layer is comprised by CC2530 ZigBee wireless module, various sensors and device controllers, which can realize real-time information collection and device on and off control in the production environment;in the network layer, the gateway will integrate collected data and then transfer the data to cloud platform server by 4G network;the service layer provides data services on the network cloud platform server in which production manager can access the cloud platform on computer or mobile phone to timely monitor the production environment and control devices in the greenhouse.

Recently, robotic automation in clinical laboratory becomes of keen interest as a fusion of bio and robotic technology. In this paper, we present a new robotic platform for clinical tests suitable for small or medium sized laboratories using mobile robots. The mobile robot called Mobile Agent is designed as transfer system of blood samples, reagents, microplates, and other instruments. Also, the mobile agent can perform diverse tests simultaneously based on its cooperative and distributed ability. The driving circuits for the mobile agent are embedded in the robot, and each mobile agent communicates with other agents by using Bluctooth communication. The RFID system is used to recognize patient information. The BioRobot platform based on mobile agents can control throughput according to the amount of tests. Also, the operation and maintenance of the system can be improved because its components are easily replaceable. To evaluate feasibility for BioRobot platform, the system was manufactured and validated by preliminary experiments.

The Inter-Carrier-Interference (ICI) is considered a drawback in the utilization of Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) systems, due to the sensitivity of the OFDM towards frequency offsets which lead to loss of orthogonality, presence of signal interference and degrading the overall system performance. In this paper Residue Numbers as a coding scheme is impeded in MIMO-OFDM systems, where the ICI levels is measured and evaluated with respect to the conventional ICI mitigation techniques as pulse shaping, windowing and self-cancellation techniques implemented in MIMO-OFDM system. The Carrier-to-Interference Ratio (CIR), Bit-Error-Rate (BER) and the Complementary Cumulative Distribution Function (CCDF) for MIMO-OFDM system with Residue Number system (RNS) coding are analyzed and evaluated. The results demonstrated a performance enhancement in the transmission model with RNS implementation.

this paper presents the development of detection and classification system for the various faults in power system to enhance the selectivity of power system protection and avoid considerable damages that happen as a result of inadequate protection. The aim is to make a classification of any fault that occurs in any power system as fast as possible. This diagnosis improves the relaying speed of the digital (numerical) distance relay to isolate the faulty part and reported immediately to the system operators simultaneously with other information;to estimate and reduce the repair time.. Before the classifier design goes to the manufacturing stage, it is quite necessary to test and verify its performance through modeling and simulations. Discrete wavelet transform is adopted to transform the fault signals in such a way it can be translated to indicate the fault type. The program is prepared as MATLAB script and evaluated through simulations of the transmission line model by MATLAB/SIMULINK that lead to promising results.

This article presents the findings of the integration of project-based learning (PBL) into the control system laboratory course, offered to senior level undergraduates in electrical engineering. Due to many limitations of the traditional laboratory teaching approach, the students could not apply the control techniques to real-world applications. To encourage these senior students to become active learners, effective engineering communicators, and to possess the problem solving skill in the field of control systemtechnology amenable to the manufacturing sector, the PBL has been integrated into this course. Specifically, the assignment of constructing a physical demo, or so-called the mini-project with the programmable logic controller (PLC) was used to evaluate the effectiveness of the PBL. The mini-project was established as an open-ended task. Students were allowed to propose their ideas for creating the prototypes, i.e., the minimal viable products (MVPs). The PBL assignment was evaluated against a pre-defined scoring rubric. This new course structure has been applied for two semesters in the academic year of 2017. The students' grades, and the assessment of rubrics' criteria of the mini-project were used to compare with the students' grades in the 2016 academic year (with a traditional learning approach). It was found that the students' grades based on the new course scheme in academic year 2017 were better than those in the 2016 academic year, and the rubric's criteria assessment also showed encouraging results. This suggests the potential application of the PBL to other courses in the engineering curriculum.
