In recent decades, the manufacturing industry is gradually transforming to digital services. A service-oriented paradigm has emerged in a smart, connected environment, namely smart product-service systems (Smart PSS). The development of smart product-service systems has provided new ideas for enterprise development and brought better user experience. This article reviews the technology applied in the smart product-service system, gives a clear theoretical framework, and builds the process of designing a smart product-service system. Finally, the case study of smart connected cars demonstrates the advantages of smart product-service systems. Compared with the traditional product-service system, it has obvious advantages. The smart product-service system has extremely high practical significance and good application prospects.

The development of a real-time system to monitor the precipitable water vapor (PWV) using surface meteorological data as the input is reported in this paper. The PWV value is estimated using the, adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) model that was generated using the Matlab (TM) software. The input of the model was taken based on the data measured by the meteorological sensors (surface pressure, temperature and relative humidity) that was included in the system. The system is developed by using the LabVIEW program at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). The system has been tested and can be operated very well under windows based platform.

The sudden explosion of the COVID-19 pandemic shows the limitations of the existing healthcare system in handling health emergencies. Innovative technologies like blockchain can play an important role in effective planning operations for fighting coronavirus pandemic. Blockchain can provide solutions that ensure safe and reliable medical supply chain with a secure data management health system. In this paper, we present an extensive review on the use of blockchain technology to mitigate COVID-19 pandemic. The research papers are classified into two groups: proposer work with implementations and surveyed papers. Both are analyzed and summarized. Then, we discussed the importance of applying blockchain technology for the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, the challenging and future research directions are identified to motivate researchers for more efforts in this domain.

Though different techniques have been formulated in the past for the optical micro-manipulation, the feasibility of these techniques mostly relied on the common assumption of the known structure of robotic tweezers dynamics. However, in most cases, the system has unmodeled dynamics because of which it is difficult to comprehend the structure of the regressor matrix. This creates complications in the designing and implementation of controllers for the optical tweezers systems. In this paper, we propose a neural network-based controller for set-point control of an optical tweezers system with uncertain dynamics. We use the neural networks to approximate the dynamics of the robotic tweezers and thus the proposed method allows the control of the system without knowing the structure of the dynamic model. Numerical simulations are also presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Evaluation on innovative performanc of high-tech industry in China will help to find and solve problems in innovation system of high-tech industries, and improve the operating efficiency of the innovation system. Based on the four basic elements as the technology monopolization factor, human resources factor, market efficiency factor and social motivation factor, this paper defined the performance evaluation system of innovation performance that impacted on high-tech industry,and analyzed empirically innovation performance of more than 20 provinces and cities region in China with SPSS15.0 software. The results showed that some districts had a weak technological exclusivity, the low efficiency of markets, lack of social power and unreasonable structure of human resources. In order to promote the development of high-tech industries in every region, this paper proposed policy implications on high-tech industry innovation performance from the four basic elements.

Over the past few years, firms around the world have implemented enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to have a standardized information system in their organizations. While millions of dollars have been spent on implementing ERP systems, previous research indicates that potential users may still not use them. This study, based on data from 75 potential end-users, examines various factors affecting users' behavioral intention to use the ERP system. The results indicate that subjective norms, perceived usefulness and education level are determinants of behavioral intention to use the system. In addition, perceived usefulness affects attitude towards use, and both perceived ease of use and compatibility affect perceived usefulness. Implications of these findings are discussed and further research opportunities described.

Industry 4.0 and miniaturization in electronics encourages the possibility of equipping systems and system components with individual controls even in real-time critical applications such as motion control. The opportunity to decrease the focus on centralized controls and distribute more responsibility on subsystems and components themselves changes the approach on how such a distributed system can be controlled. Especially the execution of synchronous tasks need strategies applicable to the decentralized approach. Solutions have been implemented in processes like production logistics, but synchronous interpolation of multiple individually motion controlled axes with real-time constraints call for different requirements. In this paper we categorize the application of distributed interpolation as a multi-agent system according to state-of-the art characteristics and derive a suitable communication architecture and interface. An internal agent program is designed and equipped with a control modelled after cross-coupled control concepts in order to achieve synchronization amongst the axes. The concept is validated through an implementation on commercial hardware with LinMot drives. Experimental results of a simultaneous movement show that the drive dynamics react as expected and the communication interface satisfies time requirements. Advantages and disadvantages of the internal agent program with crosscoupled control as well as possible changes to the internal structure are discussed.

With the growing deployment of network security devices, it becomes a great challenge to manage the large volume of security alerts from these devices. In this paper a novel method using sequential pattern mining algorithm is applied to discover complicated multistage attack behavior patterns. Their result can be transformed into rules automatically. In contrast with other approaches, it overcomes the drawback of high dependence on precise attack specifications and accurate rule definitions. Based on the algorithms, a real-time alert correlation system is proposed to detect an ongoing attack and predict the upcoming next step of a multistage attack in real time. Consequently, network administrator can be aware of the threat as soon as possible and take deliberate action to prevent the target of, an attack from further compromise. We implement the system and valid our method by a series of experiments with test dataset and in real network environment. The result shows the effectivity of the system in discovery and predication of attacks.

Understanding the capacity investment and technology decisions is vital for a firm particularly due to the fact that not meeting regulatory restrictions or insufficient investments could hurt the firm in the long run. Our aim in this paper is to study the investment decisions of companies considering potential risks of regulatory uncertainties that could alter previous investment decisions. We consider a firm facing random demand and uncertainties in the design regulatory standards. We find the firm's capacity investments and technology selection decisions to mitigate potential risks of regulatory uncertainties and demand uncertainties.
