The current organizational methods employed in storage facilities and stores are predominantly manual, lacking proper systematic management, particularly in convenience stores where inventory management is often disorganized. The absence of categorization and a systematic approach complicates inventory tracking, leading to unreliability and significant manual labor each time an item needs to be checked or restocked. This challenge is also observed in courier service storage facilities, delivery trucks, and hubs, resulting in a high incidence of missing parcels due to inadequate management. To address these inefficiencies, this research aims to develop an inventory management system that reduces manual labor by implementing Arduino microcontroller technology, NFC stickers/tags, and NFC modules. Additionally, the system leverages PLX-DAQ add-ins to seamlessly export data from the microcontroller into Microsoft Excel, facilitating real-time inventory updates and management. By achieving these objectives, it can save time and labor power, significantly improving the reliability and efficiency of inventory management in both convenience stores and courier service facilities.

This paper proposes a VR-based self-practicing system of a trombone for beginners. Adopting hand controllers with 6DOF as input and VR HMD with speaker and tactile device on the hand controllers as output, the proposed system provides visual, acoustic and tactile sense for feedback of correct/incorrect position of the slide of trombone. Through the experience of the proposed system, the learners are expected to recognize the correct positions of a slide corresponding sound scales. A user test with pre/post questionnaire shows good performance of the proposed system.

The Solar Array Drive Assembly (SADA) system plays a critical role in managing satellite health by ensuring continuous power generation during orbital operations. Its operational dynamics are influenced by celestial phenomena involving the Sun, Earth, and Moon, particularly during eclipses. These dynamics produce complex, high-dimensional data patterns across different timescales and modes, necessitating advanced analytical approaches for effective health monitoring. This study focuses on comparing various data-driven methods to capture the multivariate, multiscale, and multimode nature of satellite operations, specifically for monitoring the SADA system. The methods employed include Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), Dynamic Independent Component Analysis (DiCCA), and a scale-mode decoupled DiCCA framework. The latter is designed to uncover latent dynamics in orbital movements and satellite functionalities, using DiCCA as internal blocks for building prediction models. By comparing sensor observations with model predictions, the study tracks residuals to assess the SADA system's health. Real-world datasets from a communication satellite SADA system validate the effectiveness of the scale-mode decoupled framework. This study not only enhances satellite anomaly detection capabilities but also advances understanding of SADA operations, contributing to more reliable satellite health management.

This paper reports the progress of an ongoing project "Emergency Evacuation system for Disabilities in Wheelchair" sponsored by engineering Projects in Community Service (EPICS) of ieee. The project aims to develop an advanced mechatronic system that will be used to evacuate a disabled in a wheelchair from a high-rise building with the minimal assistances from caregivers. In this paper, the needs to develop such a system are discussed thoroughly, existing evacuation techniques are investigated to identify their limitations, a new evacuation system is conceived to enhance safety, flexibility, and efficiency of existing techniques. The project also explores a new way to support students' collaborations in designing a complex mechatronic system effectively. Model-Based systemengineering (MBSE) is adopted in designing key system components with minimized couplings with others, and the case study development has evidenced the systematism and effectiveness of MBSE in dealing with couplings, complexity, and scalability of complex mechatronic systems.

In contrast to retrospective approaches, as often used in management research, this paper outlines an approach to create knowledge on partly unknown futures contributing to the shaping of emerging phenomena while at the same time creating new knowledge. Grounded in the logic of prescience, the approach is illustrated by a case study representing a future complex intelligent system in the area of public safety. The findings show avenues to arrive at evolving conjectures regarding the management of complex intelligent systems. The derived approach is iterative and abductive with a representation of the phenomenon and its related novelty at the heart of the inquiry, and evolving conjectures as input as well as output of iterative and abductive cycles. It relies on collective acts of insight through a dialectical process of interaction between stakeholders to reach cumulative synthesis. The approach could bring value to management research, representing rigorous and relevant ways to bring societal value and help shape a better future when AI is becoming increasingly important in society.

With the rapid development of information technology, people have put forward higher requirements for the audio-visual experience and usage functions of conference spaces. The traditional, single-function conference room configuration can no longer adapt to the diverse needs of modern work and interactive activities. How to achieve efficient management and control, seamless interconnection, and resource sharing of audio systems across spaces, while ensuring the acoustic characteristics and flexibility of each independent space, has become a core issue that needs to be urgently resolved in building a multi-hall, multi-functional conference room cluster. Based on the audio system project of the Academic Center of the Communication University of China, this paper proposes a solution for a conference room cluster audio system based on a distributed architecture. This solution not only overcomes the limitations of traditional systems in terms of scalability, collaborative work, and resource scheduling but also promotes lossless transmission, real-time processing, and adaptive configuration of audio signals. Thus, it ensures the consistency and high quality of the audio experience within the entire cluster, providing practical guidance for the design and optimization of future conference room audio systems.

With the continuous advancement of human-computer interaction (HCI) technology, traditional interaction methods are increasingly unable to meet the growing complexity of application requirements. Human gesture recognition, as a natural and intuitive interaction method, has been widely applied in fields such as smart devices and virtual reality due to its convenience and flexibility. In recent years, the emergence of deep learning technology has provided new solutions for improving the performance of gesture recognition systems. This study designs a human gesture recognition and interaction system based on deep learning methods, aiming to enhance recognition accuracy and real-time responsiveness. First, the paper reviews the development of gesture recognition technology and provides a detailed analysis of deep learning-based gesture recognition methods. Subsequently, a gesture recognition model combining Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN) is proposed, along with the overall system architecture. Through the processes of gesture image data collection, preprocessing, and model training, experimental results demonstrate that the proposed system exhibits significant advantages in recognition accuracy, robustness, and response speed. Finally, the paper discusses optimization strategies for the system and envisions the broad application prospects of deep learning technology in future HCI systems.

Supply chain data management faces challenges in traceability, transparency, and trust. These issues stem from data silos and communication barriers. This research introduces DIDChain, a framework leveraging blockchain technology, Decentralized Identifiers, and the InterPlanetary File system. DIDChain improves supply chain data management. To address privacy concerns, DIDChain employs a hybrid blockchain architecture that combines public blockchain transparency with the control of private systems. Our hybrid approach preserves the authenticity and reliability of supply chain events. It also respects the data privacy requirements of the participants in the supply chain. Central to DIDChain is the cheqd infrastructure. The cheqd infrastructure enables digital tracing of asset events, such as an asset moving from the milk-producing dairy farm to the cheese manufacturer. In this research, assets are raw materials and products. The cheqd infrastructure ensures the traceability and reliability of assets in the management of supply chain data. Our contribution to blockchain-enabled supply chain systems demonstrates the robustness of DIDChain. Integrating blockchain technology through DIDChain offers a solution to data silos and communication barriers. With DIDChain, we propose a framework to transform the supply chain infrastructure across industries.
