Within the domain of the smart grid, the conventional procedure involves the utilization of a concentrator to procure power-related data from users, subsequently subjecting this data to analysis for evaluating their electricity consumption behavior. However, this established approach is marred by issues such as the central station being burdened with extensive computational tasks and a notable lack of precision in identifying instances of irregular power consumption. This study seeks to address these shortcomings by introducing an innovative energy information collection and analysis terminal for the power system. In tandem with this, a model for effectively detecting incidents of unauthorized electricity usage is proposed. Notably, the core novelty of this research resides in the strategic integration of the Tiny4412 core board, a cutting-edge platform for edge computing. Leveraging the computational prowess of the Tiny4412 core board, the terminal is adept at promptly discerning and categorizing instances of electricity theft, without overburdening the central station with computational demands. To validate the practical viability of the proposed system, a series of empirical tests are conducted. The results unequivocally underscore the terminal's proficiency in effectively detecting and flagging potential cases of electricity theft, leveraging meticulous analysis of data acquired from the intelligent energy meter. © 2023 ieee.

In this paper, we present an approach to computationally simulate the effect on a person's event segmentation that could hypothetically be induced via gaze guidance techniques within an immersive virtual environment. We propose a methodology to model gaze guidance via rational modifications to the Fluid events Model of segmentation. We aim to provide a robust basis for discerning the relationship between immersive environment gaze guidance and its ultimate effect on a user's experience. © 2025 ieee.

Power line communication (PLC) has significant benefits. By exploiting the existing and ubiquitous power line infrastructure, PLC signals can cover a larger area and provide high-speed data service without the installation of new infrastructure, especially in remote rural areas where ethernet is not available. However, the state-of-the-art PLC can support at most 2\times 2 MIMO, which cannot achieve ubiquitous and scalable connectivity for increasing traffic on the power line. In this paper, we exploit the spatiality of the power line infrastructure to achieve MIMO communication. We verify the independence of powerline channels in power line infrastructure and the scalability of doing MIMO technology to improve the performance of power line communication. Our experimental results show that our architecture is scalable and boosts the data rate on the power line. © 2023 ieee.

Named entity recognition has emerged as a critical step in recognizing, classifying, and extracting the most significant information from unstructured text without human intervention. It is used in information retrieval, conversation systems, machine translation, data mining, and information extraction. However, the Awngi language lacks a NeR system due to inadequate datasets. This study combines feature extraction techniques with supervised machine learning algorithms, including support vector machines, Naïve Bayes, and conditional random fields with a grid search algorithm parameter optimization. These supervised machine-learning models often have various hyperparameters that must be tuned to optimize the model's performance by automatically selecting the parameter. Furthermore, the dataset used for training and testing consists of 20,193 annotated Awngi tokens, collected from Amhara Media Corporation, Awngi Telegram, and Facebook pages. The proposed SVM with grid search algorithm approach provided a promising result in ANeR with an accuracy of 92% compared with Naïve Bayes, conditional random field, and decision-tree supervised machine learning models. Finally, the experiment results show that the proposed parameter tuning-based model can detect and categorize Awingi-named entities and outperforms the performance accuracy without parameter adjustment. © 2024 ieee.

As one of the critical infrastructures, the safety and reliability of the smart grid are directly associated with the development and stability of society. However, studies have shown that the power grid is at risk when the parameters are manipulated and cyber-attacks are generated against the state estimation, i.e., under false data injection attack (FDIA). Currently, a rich body of literature has studied on the FDIA defense methods, but most of them focus on the direct current (DC) scenario. This paper proposes a novel detection model that combines the wavelet packet decomposition (WPD) technique with the random forest (RF) algorithm. The WPD is able to capture the deviation of parameters from the normal conditions, whereas the RF is developed to classify these features and effectively identify the malicious data. The proposed model is also evaluated using real-world data on ieee 118-bus power system. The results demonstrate excellent performance on precision rate and recall rate under varying scenarios. © 2021 ieee.

Iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs) have garnered significant attention due to their distinctive properties, such as superparamagnetism, high surface-to-volume ratio, expansive surface area, and facile separability. In this study, we explored the microwave-assisted synthesis of iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs) using the microwave assisted method to investigate their superparamagnetic characteristics for potential biomedical applications. Various characterization techniques, including X-ray diffraction (XRD), Field-emission Scanning electron Microscopy (FeSeM), Vibrating Sample Magnetometry (VSM), and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), were employed to scrutinize the properties of the synthesized IONPs, optimizing the structural analysis and surface morphology of the materials. The confirmation of IONP formation was established through XRD and FTIR analyses, both affirming the predominant presence of magnetite (Fe3O4) in the synthesized IONPs. These microwave-assisted co-precipitated IONPs exhibited superparamagnetic behavior, boasting an average crystallite size of 9 nm and noteworthy saturation magnetization values of up to 68 eμg. These inherent properties render IONPs highly suitable for diverse applications, including incorporation in memristive devices, utilization as MRI contrast agents, application as thermal mediators in hyperthermia, and integration into drug delivery systems. © 2024 ieee.

With the development of superconducting power devices, the research of the characteristics of surface flashover of insulation materials in low-temperature environments is getting increasingly important. In this paper, the flashover voltage along the surface of epoxy resin in liquid nitrogen were measured. The first flashover voltage along the surface at different spacings were measured by using ring-ring electrodes, this paper analyzed the experimental results by the method of Weibull distribution, which leads to the relationship between the flashover voltage along the impact surface and the creepage distance for 0.1% flashover probability of epoxy resin. This can provide a reference for the insulation design of superconducting power devices. © 2023 ieee.
