The Indonesian Robot Contest (KRI) is a design and engineering competition in the field of robotics. One of the competition divisions is KRSTI or Indonesian Dance Robot Contest. ERISA is a humanoid robot developed by PENS students to participate in such contests. One of the assessment points of the contest is the stability of the robot's balance in each zone, where each zone has different field characteristics, which makes the robot prone to falling. This paper focuses on creating a balance system for the ERISA humanoid robot. In maintaining this balance, a tilt detection system is needed for the robot's position and a balancing system when the robot is about to fall. Using the slope value, the mechanical robot servo control equation is manipulated using PD system. Therefore, the robot independently shifts its position in reverse to the direction of fall. The degree of the inclined surface is set to vary from 2° up to the maximum capability of the robot. The test results show that the addition of the control system balance gives the ERISA robot the ability to walk on an inclined surface up to 10° for the pitch parameter and 6° for the roll parameter. © 2023 ieee.

Permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSM) are widely used in industrial and automotive systems. The thermal behavior of motor parts impacts the performance of electrical drive systems, and accurate temperature information is vital for system protection and controllability. Replacing temperature sensors with thermal estimation reduces the system cost and improves the system's robustness and reliability. However, due to the complexity of high-fidelity thermal models, real-time estimation algorithms are computationally burdensome. To mitigate this computational burden, this study utilizes the calibratable and scalable 11-node reduced-order lumped-parameter thermal network (LPTN) to estimate critical PMSM temperatures in real-time. The Romer Douglas-Peucker (RDP) method is used in this study to develop surrogate loss models for interior permanent magnet machines (IPMSM). The proposed model can be applied to both transient and steady-state operational conditions. However, the temperature is obtained from averaged power loss calculations over a pre-defined raster rate. MATLAB/Simulink is used to understand the behavior of proposed reduced-order LPTN, which are compared with Motor CAD FEA results and Dyne test results to understand the accuracy of proposed models. © 2023 ieee.

Continuum robots, which often rely on interdisciplinary and multimedia collaborations, have been increasingly recognized for their potential to revolutionize the field of humancomputer interaction (HCI) in varied applications due to their adaptive, responsive, and flexible characteristics. Despite their promises, the lack of an integrated framework poses a significant limitation for both users and developers, resulting in inefficiency and complexity during preliminary developments. Thus, this paper introduces a unified framework for continuum robotic systems that addresses these challenges by integrating system architecture, dynamics computation, and control strategy within a computer-aided design (CAD) platform. The proposed method allows for efficient modeling and quick preview of the robot performance, and thus facilitating iterative design and implementation, with a view to enhancing the quality of robot developments.

Integrating multiple search operators to leverage the characteristics of different search operators is one of the common methods to enhance the performance of evolutionary algorithms. Most of these combination algorithms adopt a fixed framework, which makes it difficult to adaptively select the appropriate search operator during the algorithm iteration process, resulting in poor performance on certain problems. To overcome the aforementioned shortcomings of combination algorithms, an adaptive search strategy combination algorithm based on reinforcement learning and neighborhood search (RLASCA) is proposed. During the algorithm iteration process, a reinforcement learning-based adaptive search operator selection method (RLAS) is designed, enabling the algorithm to adaptively select the appropriate search operator based on the state of the individual. Furthermore, to address the issue of premature convergence, a neighborhood search strategy based on differential evolution (NSDE) is designed to increase the diversity of the population. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, a comprehensive testing was conducted using the CEC2017 test suite and two constrained engineering design problems. The algorithm was compared with four basic algorithms that compose RLASCA and four classical combination algorithms. The experimental results indicate that RLASCA outperforms the other eight algorithms in terms of convergence speed and accuracy. © 2024 ieee.

Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulators have become an essential tool in the automotive industry as they allow comprehensive testing and validation of electronic control units (ECUs), Although HIL simulations are widely used in the vehicle, aerospace and other industries that rely on electronic control systems, they can also be quite challenging to develop. One of the main challenges of HIL simulators is creating a virtual environment that accurately replicates the behavior of the real-world system. Artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms can be trained on extensive real-world datasets to create more accurate virtual environments of complex systems for HIL simulations. Moreover, latency is a crucial factor in producing a reliable virtual environment for ECU in HIL simulations. FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) can help to minimize latency in HIL simulations by providing high-performance computing resources. This paper aims to address these challenges by presenting a machine learning-based HIL simulator design on FPGA. The proposed architecture uses FPGA to accelerate the computations of a temporal convolutional neural network (TCN). The paper also describes how increasing the number of input channels can improve the performance of the TCN model on an FPGA. © 2023 ieee.

With the continuous improvement of automation level in modern production lines, the application of robotic arms is becoming more and more widespread, greatly reducing the labor intensity of workers and also lowering labor costs. This article designs a handling robot arm controlled by Siemens PLC to move servo motors and stepper motors. The basic structure and functions of the robot arm are discussed. Through the design of system hardware and software, a training platform is built to test system stability and achieve automatic control of the production line. This enables the robot arm to operate efficiently and accurately, thereby improving production efficiency.

Motion target detection algorithms have been maturely implemented on traditional PCs, but they are large in size and high in power consumption. In order to be used in spacerestricted scenarios, a motion target detection system based on ZYNQ hardware acceleration is designed. First of all, we customized the QDMA IP core for the problem that the AXI VDMA IP core provided by XILINX requires multi-parameter configuration, which is not flexible enough to be used. This IP core can be hooked to the bus to realize the read and write access to the memory address space, compared with the VDMA IP core, the custom IP core only needs to set 50% of its configuration items to read and write data. Secondly, the system is modularized by combining the characteristics of ZYNQ's hardware and software synergy. The algorithm module including grayscale processing, median filter, image difference, morphological filter is processed by the programmable logic side which is good at parallel computing for pipeline operation, and the camera configuration, system memory read/write control is processed by the ARM side which is good at serial execution of complex programs, which not only improves the processing speed of the algorithm but also significantly shortens the development time compared with a single processing method. Experimental tests show that the system can effectively detect moving targets in real time within a certain distance, and compared with the traditional PC platform using the same processing algorithms, it can still run smoothly at a resolution of more than 30fps in 1280 × 720 under the condition that the power consumption is only 1/22 of the CPU power consumption (2.039W). © 2023 ieee.

The design and manufacture of automatic conveyor-based dishwashers is a complex process that involves the integration of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components. The main objective of this project is to create a low cost, highly efficient, water and detergent saving based dishwasher that can handle a bulk number of dishes in a very short time. Dishwashers are designed to transport dishes automatically using a conveyor belt system. The system includes the flow of water and detergents to ensure optimal cleaning and hygiene. The manufacturing process includes material selection, creation of detailed computer aided design (CAD) models, and machine construction using precision manufacturing techniques. The result is a reliable and efficient dishwasher that can meet the needs of commercial kitchens and other high-volume food service operations. The main goal of semi-automatic dishwashers is to reduce human effort and time with an innovative simple design. The dishwasher design has been made environment friendly as well by introducing reusing of water and less consumption of detergent. The proposed dishwasher in this work is a new concept that does all the work of a traditional dishwashing i.e.;plate placing, detergent spraying, sparkling water in one wash cycle. In addition to that the dishwasher model is composed of AC gear Motors, Universal Motor, Conveyor chain and a central controller for the control of process and time delaying. This work also presents the benefits of water, time and detergent saving by using the proposed dishwasher as compared to conventional dishwashing. © 2023 ieee.

Current smart greenhouse systems face challenges with regard to energy efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and the design of user-friendly interfaces. Wide-scale adoption of these systems requires simple and accessible solutions. These issues highlight the need for more straightforward simple and accessible solutions. Our study introduces an automated, user-friendly, affordable and power-optimized greenhouse management system using open-source technologies to tackle current efficiency and accessibility challenges. The system, powered by a solar-charged battery, uses a Node-RED designed interface, Raspberry Pi 3B for data parsing and storage, and an Arduino 2560 for micro-processing. With a custom automation algorithm and a remote control feature, the system provides real-time data visualization and enhanced usability. Particularly suited to Bangladesh's agricultural needs, it addresses local conditions such as climate and rural electricity scarcity. © 2023 ieee.

Modern system-on-Chips (SoCs) have been increasingly deployed in critical aspects of our lives. As a consequence, they have access to a large number of secret assets that must be protected against unauthorized access. In order to provide sound security guarantees, an SoC typically has a security architecture as authentication mechanisms to control the access of different Intellectual Properties (IPs) to secret assets. Since the SoC's security architecture cannot be changed after production, it is of utmost importance to detect any security flaws in the design phase. Moreover, to prevent costly fixes in later stages, security validation should start as early as possible. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to validate the security architecture of a given SoC against timing flows using systemC-based Virtual Prototype (VP) and static information flow tracking technique at the system level. Experimental results on two real-world VP-based SoCs demonstrate the scalability and applicability of the proposed approach in identifying timing flows.
