Neural networks are lately more and more often being used in the context of data-driven control, as an approximate model of the true system dynamics. Model Predictive control (MPC) adopts this practise leading to neural MPC strategies. This raises a question of whether the trained neural network has converged and generalized in a way that the learned model encapsulates an accurate approximation of the true dynamic model of the system, thus making it a reliable choice for model-based control, especially for disturbed and uncertain systems. To tackle that, we propose Dropout MPC, a novel sampling-based ensemble neural MPC algorithm that employs the Monte Carlo dropout technique on the learned system model. The closed loop is based on an ensemble of predictive controllers, that are used simultaneously at each time-step for trajectory optimization. Each member of the ensemble influences the control input, based on a weighted voting scheme, thus by employing different realizations of the learned system dynamics, neural control becomes more reliable by design. An additional strength of the method is that it offers by design a way to estimate future uncertainty, leading to cautious control. While the method aims in general at uncertain systems with complex dynamics, where models derived from first principles are hard to infer, to showcase the application we utilize data gathered in the laboratory from a real mobile manipulator and employ the proposed algorithm for the navigation of the robot in simulation.

Artificial intelligence plays an important role in data anomaly detection, which can significantly improve the speed and accuracy of fault diagnosis and detection in power information system. With its powerful fitting ability, deep learning begins to emerge in various fields, especially in the field of da-ta anomaly detection, which can also use deep learning methods. Due to various types and similar features of power data sets, fault classification cannot be carried out accurately. At present, frequent detection of text information needs to be performed manually. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a fault classification method for information system based on cascaded convolutional neural network model. BERT deep learning network is used for model training, and a cascaded classification network is constructed. Multiple BERT models are called hierarchically to achieve the fault detection effect of hierarchical classification. The method presented in this paper improves the accuracy of fault prediction and classification, which also provides fast, accurate and reliable decision information basis for improving fault diagnosis. © 2022 ieee.

This paper presents the Reconfigurable Cascaded Multilevel converter employed for battery energy storage systems. The main advantage lies on the possibility to fully control each battery cell, improving the overall performances of the storage system. Indeed, the Reconfigurable Cascaded Multilevel Converter is compared with a CHB grid tie converter and two-level inverter, in terms of filter design, power losses and battery losses. The analysis results show that, under the same operative condition, the inductive filter required is at least 70% less than the other two topologies. Moreover, the RCMC provides the highest converter efficiency in all operative conditions. © 2022 ieee.

Smart systems contain digital and analog components of several physical domains, e.g., electrical and mechanical During the design phase, the fault injection, which checks the system functionality following the guidelines of ISO standard 26262, enhances the system’s robustness. Unfortunately, fault injection and simulation on the analog side are i) not fully standardized compared to their digital counterparts, ii) highly domain-dependent, and iii) performed separately from the digital. This article proposes to improve the design of smart systems by generating faulty scenarios through analog fault injection across several physical domains. By exploiting these faulty scenarios it is possible to improve the robustness of the analog part and simultaneously improve the quality of the digital part that controls the system functionality.

The aim of this research is to utilize the particle swarm approach to examine the coordinated design of the unified power flow controller (UPFC) and two power system stabilizers (PSS) in a multi-machine power system. The synchronized proposed control challenge has been presented as an optimal solution with an objective function and constraint equations to complete this goal. Period models in a multi-machine power system were used to assess the effectiveness of the proposed design under distinct operating situations. It has been shown that, even if both PSSs and UPFCs perform well in their own right, power networks stability is adversely affected by an unfavorable impact or negative interaction between controllers if they are not coordinated. Inter-Area oscillations have been efficiently dampened thanks to integrated layout. © 2022 ieee.

The virtual DC motor (VDCM) control strategy can simulate the dynamic response of DC motors, enhance system stability and controllability, and has received widespread attention. However, a key challenge in the efficient operation of DC microgrids is the state of charge (SOC) balance of energy storage units, which is crucial for improving the utilization efficiency of energy storage units. This paper introduces an innovative control method that uses VDCM as the basic control layer and combines dynamic consensus algorithm to design SOC balance controller. The proposed method not only maintains the stability of the DC bus voltage, but also achieves SOC consistency among multiple energy storage units. This article validated the effectiveness of the control strategy through a simulation platform built using Matlab/Simulink. The results indicate that the controller can optimize the output of energy storage units, thereby improving the overall efficiency and lifespan of DC microgrid systems.

The innovative design and implementation of the human-robot collaborative dance system marks a significant breakthrough in the integration of art and technology. This system cleverly combines multi-view computer vision technology and humanoid robot control, using six high-speed cameras and an improved posture estimation algorithm to achieve high-precision human motion capture. The application of deep learning and optimization algorithms enables precise mapping of human movements onto the NAO robot. Experimental data are impressive: the average joint position error is only 14.3 mm, the action similarity score reaches 87.6%, and system latency is as low as 67 ms. These achievements not only demonstrate the enormous potential of artificial intelligence in artistic creation but also open new prospects for stage performances and human-robot interaction, heralding a promising future of technology integrated with art.

Aiming at the problems of cumbersome update operation, high hardware cost, complicated protocol design, and inability to roll back if the update fails, a set of automotive electronic control unit ECU application update system was developed. The software of the upper computer update control platform was developed, and the target ECU was realized based on the STM32 controller. The system structure mode was designed as the client-server mode, and the two ends of the system were connected through the USB-CAN adapter to realize the real-time communication of the system. Based on the startup control program and the In Application Programmable (IAP) method, the target ECU Flash programming was carried out to realize the convenient update operation. Handshake communication, packet serial number verification, retransmission, application storage partition and other designs realize stable and reliable communication process, and updates can be rolled back. © 2022 ieee.

Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) with nonlinear characteristic and often causes various power quality (PQ) problems is the common seen smelting equipment in the industrial power system. Electricity users and utilities continuously seek the useful solutions for the improvements of these PQ problems. In recent years, the applications of using solar photovoltaic (PV) technology for PQ controls are become more and more because of the increasing installations of solar PV power generations. Purpose for this study aims to design a multi-mode PV-STATCOM system for the mitigation of voltage fluctuation that caused by EAF in the steel plant system. Performance of proposed PV-STATCOM design is tested and verified by MATLAB/Simulink simulations under a real 11.4 kV electric feeder with a 45 ton AC EAF load. Results show the proposed system has a well performance than that in general PV-STATCOM that only using unique control mode.

The problem of electronic components placing on a printed circuit board of an electronic device is formulated in this paper. The choice of constraints and criteria for the optimization problem is validated. We propose to take into account the thermal compatibility criterion to ensure normal thermal conditions of the printed circuit board. An indicator of the problem solution quality is the maximum temperature of a component among all components placed on a printed circuit board. The temperature of the components is determined based on the solution of the heat balance equation. The ant algorithm for placement problem solving is described. The sequence of vertices of the decision graph in the path formed by the ant colony determines the sequence of elements placement on the mounting plane of the printed circuit board and thus corresponds to the placement problem solution. The decrease in the maximum temperature of the printed circuit board temperature field was assessed depending on the number of the stage of constructing the best path by a ant colony, with different thermal conductivity between the components and the surrounding air environment. The results of computational experiments for effectiveness study of the ant algorithm are presented. The experiments carried out showed the effectiveness of the applied ant algorithm and that rational placement of the electronic components on the PCB makes it possible to reduce the maximum temperature of the components. © 2023 ieee.
