Computational modeling and optimization were utilized to design the metastructure of a polymer nanocomposite system. The goal is to minimize the reflection loss (RL) and broaden the absorption bandwidth. Truncated cones with a perfect electric conductor on the top surface were chosen. With this innovative metastructure, the absorption bandwidth of RL at -20dB has been increased from 0, as observed in non-porous materials, to 1.83 GHz. The samples with optimized metastructures were manufactured using hot pressing and computer numerical control (CNC) machining techniques. This approach provided an efficient way to design and precisely manufacture materials with targeted EM absorption.

In the modern aquaculture, diverse environmental sensing in the application of intelligent monitoring system is receiving more and more attention. To monitor the water quality of aquaculture ponds, we design and develop a water quality monitoring system based on LoRaWAN. LPWAN (Low Power Wide Area Network) occupies an important place in IoT communication technology. LoRa (Low Range) is also one of the technologies, with the advantages of long distance and low power consumption which can extend the service life of power supply equipment. In this paper, a system realizes remote collection and data storage of multi-sensor processor information (temperature, pH, conductivity and turbidity levels). The LoRa gateway and Raspberry Pi are implemented to transfer the aquaculture field parameters into the database and presented on the Website. With the remote monitoring screen, users can keep tracking changes of water quality and make timely adjustments without going in and out of the aquaculture site frequently.

Spectre and Meltdown attacks proved Transient Execution Side Channels to be a notable challenge for designing secure microarchitectures. Various countermeasures against these threats were proposed on the electronic system level. However, addressing all possible attack scenarios requires the design and analysis of bit-and cycle-accurate implementations. We present a novel secure-by-construction RTL design methodology based on a new hardware protection framework underpinned by a generic control infrastructure that can be integrated into industry-grade microarchitectures. The methodology uses formal verification to systematically detect possible leakage paths and to customize the generic infrastructure accordingly for the design. We propose an iterative flow which semi-automatically leads to an RTL design that is guaranteed to be secure w.r.t. transient execution attacks. A case study for the methodology is conducted on BOOMv3, an open-source RISC-V processor with a deep out-of-order pipeline, and the resulting secure RTL design is benchmarked on an FPGA setup. Our design outperforms a design based on conservative countermeasures, improving the incurred overhead by $\boldsymboldesign\times/\boldsymbolcontrol\times$ (depending on the threat model) while maintaining the same level of security.

This paper presents an open-source, lightweight, yet comprehensive software framework, named RPC, which integrates physics-based simulators, planning and control libraries, debugging tools, and a user-friendly operator interface. RPC enables users to thoroughly evaluate and develop control algorithms for robotic systems. While existing software frameworks provide some of these capabilities, integrating them into a cohesive system can be challenging and cumbersome. To overcome this challenge, we have modularized each component in RPC to ensure easy and seamless integration or replacement with new modules. Additionally, our framework currently supports a variety of model-based planning and control algorithms for robotic manipulators and legged robots, alongside essential debugging tools, making it easier for users to design and execute complex robotics tasks. Sliding spotlight mode is widely used in spaceborne SAR to achieve high resolution. However, due to the difficulty for antenna beam to scan continuously, it usually works by step scanning, which leads to paired-echo in SAR images. Meanwhile, the pointing of the antenna often deviates from the preset value when scanning, resulting in an increase in the amplitude of the paired echo. This paper works on the effect of beam stepping control and pointing deviation on image quality of Ka band spaceborne sliding spotlight SAR. Firstly, the azimuth echo signal in sliding spotlight mode under the beam stepping control and pointing deviation is modeled. Then, the influence of beam stepping control and pointing deviation is analyzed by using the paired-echo theory, and the quantitative relationship between beam granularity and pointing deviation and paired-echo is presented. Finally, the validity of the theoretical analysis is verified by computer simulation. The method in this paper provides a reliable basis for the design of parameters in spaceborne sliding spotlight SAR system. © 2022 ieee.

This paper presents design and implementation of human object tracking system using an infrared thermal camera and servo-motor-controlled pan-tilt system on a single board computer. The implementation of the system is aimed to develop air to ground EOTS (Electro Optical Targeting system) to track moving object in a low light condition. A thermal camera is used to obtain the visual information from an object in a low light condition. By utilizing visual servoing method, YOLOv4 algorithm is used to give information about object's position on screen which will be used to control the pan-tilt servo motor to track the object movement. The detection process is performed from approximately 5 meters from the ground. This is to simulate the air to ground environment. This system consists of the acquisition subsystem, data processing subsystem, user interface subsystem, and actuator subsystem. This paper will discuss the process of design and implementation of each subsystem, system integration and the system testing. The experiment result shows that the system is able to track an object with a 14 Frame Per Second (FPS) framerate and human objects could be detected with an 96,61% average precision score. © 2022 ieee.

Optimal beamforming design is developed for a nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA)-aided symbiotic radio (SR) system where a base station (BS) simultaneously serves multiple NOMA users and a secondary ambient tag. The nearest user of the tag decodes its own data and the tag data using the successive interference cancellation (SIC) technique. We design optimal transmit beamforming and power allocation at the BS to maximize the weighted sum rate of NOMA users and the tag, under the minimum rate requirements while satisfying the tag’s minimum energy requirement. Because the problem is nonconvex, we propose algorithms using alternative optimization and fractional programming techniques. Our results reveal that significant performance gains can be achieved while keeping the tag design intact. For example, the proposed beamforming can increase harvested power and data rate by 2.16×10 3 % and 314.5% compared to random beamforming.

This paper fully researches and analyzes the effect of negative OFF-state gate-source bias voltage (V GS , off) on the device degradation under OFF-state avalanche stress. It is found that the degradation associated with negative V GS ,off is much greater than that of 0V V GS ,off and negative bias temperature instability (NBTI). While the shift in threshold voltage (V T ) and on-resistance (R on ) are relatively small, and the biggest change is reverse leakage current (I Dss ) corresponds to the generation of interface state. This phenomenon is analyzed in conjunction with Technology computer aided design (TCAD) analysis, which demonstrate that under the avalanche stress condition, the electric field at the bottom of the gate oxide attains substantial magnitudes. Moreover, the introduction of negative V GS ,off significantly amplifies the electric field in this region, which has a significant impact on the long-term reliability of the device.

This study focused on controlling the heating temperature of the electric oven and made it more consistent and effective. There are three methods to control temperature and each one has different advantages and disadvantages. The traditional rotary oven used the capillary thermostats to control the temperature. However, it's very passive and unstable. Replaced the capillary thermostats by relays and thermocouples, the traditional knob oven can be controlled actively by the microcontroller but still unstable. The combination of power control and PID control can get the greatest feedback of controlling temperature and reduce the deviation within +/- 2 degrees C, which is more consistent than previous methods. Besides, we can receive the temperature data from thermocouples and print the data to the dynamic chart. According to the ideal curve of preset value, we can update the parameters immediately and analyze the heating condition at the same time. The analyzed data can design various recipes in detail and be written in the program. Finally, create the program of the autonomous baking recipes in the regulation system can simplify the process of baking.

For most of school employee usually meet a difficult task about manage a lot of equipment. For instance, recording their status, malfunction and repair history. The purpose of this study was to design a small chatbot system to help these people works easily. Due to technological advances in communication and Artificial Intelligence, user not only can access the chatbot service in everywhere but for Natural Language Understanding helps, chatbot can handle complex requests through simple natural language in Chinese. Compare with the traditional management approach, that was full of paper work and reaction against with malfunction condition inefficient, Database can help to collect and track their status. By review the older equipment records, researchers found those cause of the malfunction and repair steps for those same type of equipment were similarly. It also can be found by analyzed the database of this system. Hence, the system not only shows and records the equipment usages status but also provides a quickly and flexible troubleshooting according to analyzed their malfunction and repair history. We also planned to open source this system's architecture to help those people who needs to process the objects status such as books in Library, the equipment status and products quality in manufactory processing.
