An urgent problem in the development of iron ore deposits is the need for effective management of the production process of ore mining. The importance of this management is explained by the direct dependence of obtaining the necessary economic and technical results predicted in the working projects of mining units from the effectiveness of managing the project implementation process in practice. The high level of complexity of the tasks of managing the production process requires the development and use of a system of automated control of the production process APCS at a mining enterprise. All such automated control systems already developed at present are aimed at solving only particular tasks of managing certain areas of enterprise activity and are not integrated with each other. This complicates the implementation of this type of production and the efficiency of making managerial decisions on its preparation and implementation. At present, the authors are developing such a process control system, taking into account the requirements for the integration of its technological elements and ensuring consistency in solving the problems of managing the production process at underground iron ore mining enterprises. The methodological provisions on the basis of which the automated control system is being developed provides for a unified fundamental and methodological approach, mathematical, organizational and technical bases that ensure the full integration of its structural elements, consistency in management and organizational decisions. The key element of the automated control system is the computer-aided design system (CAD) of mining units, as the basic elements of the production process at the enterprise. The goal of this research is to design a proactive bus blind spot warning (PBSW) system which will notify the motorcycle riders as soon as they enter the blind spot of a target vehicle, i.e., bus. The motorcycle side of this PBSW system, consisting of a Raspberry Pi 3B+ and a dual-lens stereo camera, will first transmit captured images to the Android phone using Wi-Fi and then to the cloud server through the cellular network. At the cloud server, the famous AI model, YOLOv4, is used to recognize the position of the rear-view mirror of the bus. By the principle of lens imaging, the distance between the bus and the motorcycle is estimated. Based on the estimated distance returned from the cloud server, the PBSW APP running in the Android phone illustrates the visible area/blind spot of the bus, the position of the rider and the estimated distance between the motorcycle and the bus. It further alarms the rider whenever the rider has entered the blind spot of the bus. According to performance evaluation on this implemented system, it recognizes the rear-view mirror with the average accuracy of 92.82%, the error rate of the estimated distance lower than 0.2% and the average round trip delay of 0.5 sec. It is concluded that this PBSW system keeps the motorcycle rider away from imminent dangers in real time.

Targeting transport is an emerging field in the medical industry that is attempting to obtain a more precise cure for the diseased area. This transport process requires a robot transporter to reach the target. This project aims to develop an E. coli-based swimming robot for precisely delivering medicine to the appointed target area. Key parameters influencing motion are selected through preliminary kinematic analysis in a uniform, viscous fluid. By using the recursion method and differential equation calculation, this project simulated the trajectory related to the robot’s movement and derived the controlling equation. computer aided design (CAD) models are developed under macroscopic dimensions and simulations are performed in liquid environments for validation under microscopic dimensions. A path planning algorithm and a control program with feedback and feedforward control are also developed to stabilize the system. This project has tested the feasibility of different motions under different sets of design specifications and thrust setups, and optimized the related design specifications in the unified viscous flow by Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis. In addition, a control system for the swimmer’s obstacle avoidance and path planning was designed, based on the thrust configurations as inputs. The influence of environment parameters and the robot’s structure is investigated. A robot model capable of moving in a two-dimensional environment is developed correspondingly, which supports further studies’ field tests of micro-robots targeting transport.

We present a recursive approach to the design and operation of complex, data-driven IoT services, which are challenged by the traditional cloud-centric view of service delivery. To this end, we introduce a recursive IoT node abstraction, around which we sketch the architecture of a distributed runtime environment for the execution of such services, promoting self-adaptation to a first-class concept. Our framework aims to support services of arbitrary structure and complexity, dynamically configured and fluidly deployed along a heterogeneous device-to-cloud compute continuum, and operating according to provider and user intent. It features inherent privacy enhancements and aims to give users more control over their resources and data. We demonstrate how these principles can be applied to facilitate the composition, deployment and orchestration of complex machine learning workflows, which are becoming increasingly relevant for IoT applications.

Homomorphic encryption enables computations on the ciphertext to preserve data privacy. However, its practical deployment has been hindered by the significant computational overhead compared to the plaintext computations. In response to this challenge, we present HERMES, a novel hardware acceleration system designed to explore the computation flow of the CKKS homomorphic encryption bootstrapping process. Among the major contributions of our proposed architecture, we first analyze the properties of the CKKS computation data flow and propose a new scheduling strategy by partitioning the computation modules into general-purpose and special-purpose modular computation modules to allow smaller resource consumption and flexible scheduling. The computation modules are also reconfigurable to reduce the memory access overhead during the intermediate computation. We also optimize the CKKS computation dataflow to improve the regularity with reduced control overhead.

An important class of attacks is based on manip-ulating the victim's hardware clock to gain control over the system. We propose a circuit that can be added to an IP module to detect and hence mitigate such attacks. It employs a ring oscillator as a tamper-proof internal time reference. We embed this oscillator into a complete circuit whose design carefully takes metastability issues at the boundary between supervised clock and reference clock into account. Furthermore, we analyze the attainable accuracy considering the frequency ratio between these clocks, as well as ring oscillator frequency tolerances. Finally, we give guidelines to parameterize our circuit for given requirements and present a demo implementation as a proof of concept.

abstract-The increasing adoption of connectivity and electronic components in vehicles makes these systems valuable targets for attackers. While automotive vendors prioritize safety, there remains a critical need for comprehensive assessment and analysis of cyber risks. In this context, this paper proposes a Social Media Automotive Threat Intelligence (SOCMATI) framework, specifically designed for the emerging field of automotive cybersecurity. The framework leverages advanced intelligence techniques and machine learning models to extract valuable insights from social media. Soft actuators have many advantages, such as flexibility and safe interaction with the environment. Despite these advantages, they still lack the stiffness to carry the high load. The layer jamming mechanism can be applied to the actuator to increase stiffness, and a vacuum can control the stiffness of the mechanism. However, the typical jamming mechanism has a risk of air leakage, and vacuums are bulky to some systems. In order to solve this problem, we have developed a novel mechanical layer jamming for the cable-driven soft actuator in this paper. Our design uses the actuator body to generate the compression force to the layer at the middle of the actuator’s body to increase the actuator’s stiffness. The result shows the effectiveness of our mechanical layer jamming in increasing the stiffness of the actuator when adding the load to the tip of the actuator. In addition, we have applied our actuator to the soft gripper system, which successfully grasped various objects and changed the stiffness of the actuator.

Brain computer interface (BCI) technology refers to the technology that helps establish direct communication and control channels between the human brain and the computer. This technology can meet the control requirements of external equipment without passing through the patient's damaged nerves and declining muscle system. Electroencephalogram (EEG) contains a variety of information, including motor imagination information, steady-state visually evoked EEG information, emotional information, and fatigue information, etc. This paper designs a brain-computer interface system based on motor imagination and uses it to control the body movements of the NAO robot. The system is mainly divided into three modules: signal acquisition, signal processing and robot control. In terms of signal acquisition, electrode caps, conductive glue, EEG amplifiers and Curry7 software are used. In this paper, we design a frequency band feature selection algorithm based on an improved sub-band filter bank (FB)-Common Space Pattern (CSP). These features are classified using Bagging ensemble classification algorithm and converted to use Commands for controlling the NAO robot. In terms of communication control, the instruction codes are preset, and the classification results are corresponding to instructions for controlling different actions of the robot. It is transmitted to the robot by using wireless communication technology. The Bagging ensemble classification method proposed in this paper classifies EEG features. The accuracy of the four types of motor imaging EEG classification is as high as 78.29%, and the accuracy of NAO robot action execution experiments is up to 86.33%, which proves the correctness of the algorithm studied in this paper. The reliability and feasibility of the NAO robot brain control system designed in this paper.
