The key priority for the development of urban street and road network is the introduction of automated traffic control systems. One of the key elements of automated traffic control systems is the efficient management of traffic lights. Under conditions of maximum traffic load on the roadway, it is possible to implement such control by introducing an adaptive traffic control system. The authors analyzed the existing means of traffic flows simulation. Based on the possibilities of use of adaptive traffic control tools, it is suggested to use the Simulation of urban mobility (SUMO) software as a simulation tool. A feature of SUMO (Simulation of urban mobility) is the so-called 'open source' and the possibility of its improvement, taking into account the tasks set by the researcher. By means of use of this software product, the simulation of the influence of adaptive traffic lights on the capacity of the road network of various types was carried out. Based on the results of the experiments, the main diagrams of traffic flows were built. A script was written in Python to interpret the simulation results and visualize the main traffic flow diagrams. The results show that the use of adaptive traffic control even at individual intersections gives an increase in capacity across the entire road network by 20-30%. The suggested results can be used in road network simulation of various types of networks using adaptive traffic lights. © 2022 ieee.

In the era of autonomous vehicles, state estimation is crucial for planning and control. While various sensors like GNSS, IMU, cameras, and wheel encoders provide essential data, each has limitations. Sensor fusion, especially combining GNSS and IMU, addresses these challenges. Recently, data-based techniques using machine learning tools have emerged to enhance tuning processes. However, if an architecture that has a practical impact is utilized, the training of the neural net results in a complicated task. This paper explores different state estimation architectures in the era of data-based techniques and proposes an algorithm generating reference tuning values. The presented methods are tested with real vehicle measurements.

Two-wheeled vehicle is an essentially unstable robot, which has the characteristics of multi-variable, non-linear, strong coupling, time-varying, and parameter so fun certainty. In this paper, the two-wheeled self-balancing vehicle system based on STM32 is designed: (1) In terms of hardware, two reduction motors with parallel distribution at both ends of the uniaxial are used as mobile driving devices. STM32F103C8T6 and MPU6050 are used for real-time attitude acquisition, and the attitude data are decoded by Digital Motion Processor (DMP). (2) In terms of software, the cascade PID is adopted. Based on the obtained attitude data, the controller STM32 calculates the reasonable pulse frequency and pulse number through the PID control algorithm, so as to realize the real-time dynamic control of the two reduction motors and maintain the self-balancing of the car. In addition, based on Android mobile platform and Bluetooth data transmission technology, control mobile APP to complete the real-time control of the car system. © 2021 ieee.

The combination of remote advertisement placement and smart city brings new opportunities and challenges for outdoor advertisement placement in cities. This paper proposes a lightweight advertising system based on Internet of Things and edge computing, which includes three layers: a cloud platform, an edge control terminal and IoT devices including dimming glass and smart projectors. The cloud platform manages the advertisement resources, sends out the play schedule and completes the identity authentication of the edge control terminal. The edge control terminal controls the addressing and networking of the play media consisting of dimming glass and smart projector, and carries out identity registration. At the same time, it completes the switching of the transmittance of the dimming glass and the signal synchronisation of the advertisements, then broadcasts the advertisements according to the schedule. The lightweight communication protocol MQTT is used between the layers to reduce the overhead of data transmission. Experiments show that the lightweight advertising system can manage and play advertisements efficiently with low latency and provide users with a good viewing experience.

As intelligent manufacturing ushers in Industry 4.0, digital transformation of production facilities is crucial for remaining competitive. This study upgraded a large port machinery equipment workshop through integrating key enabling technologies. Further, A design plan was formulated involving comprehensive surveys and requirements analysis. An intelligent manufacturing workshop was established, comprising automated modules for plate processing, forming, assembly, and logistics. Digital integration between computer-aided design models and virtual manufacturing simulations validated new concepts prior to on-site implementation. Intelligent robot welding stations improved flexibility and reduced cycle times. Economic assessments revealed reductions in production cycle duration, improved material provision timeliness, optimized production rhythms, and lower personnel requirements. Digitalization enabled higher productivity, better resource efficiency, and decreased operating costs. Our study demonstrated how digital transformation enhances production efficiency, quality control, and competitiveness for manufacturing industries.

We propose VRSmartphoneSketch, a mid-air sketching system that combines a smartphone with VR controllers to allow hybrid 2D and 3D inputs. We conducted a user study with 12 participants to explore the utility of the hybrid inputs of the bundled smartphone and controller when there was no drawing surface. The results show that the proposed system didn't significantly improve stroke accuracy and user experiences compared with the benchmark controller-only drawing condition. However, users have given positive feedback on the stability and sense of control of strokes brought by the smartphone's touch.

AR HMDs are considered auspicious devices and may substitute mobile phones as the next generation of intelligent interactive devices. Nowadays, the Internet of Things (IoT) has entered our lives. However, in smart home, the common control method now is to use apps on the smartphone. Hence, in this work, we design an AR HMD based control system for cross-reality intelligent IoT devices. We focus on the real-life living room scene, and try to compactly integrate the remote control on many smart electric appliance (such as desk lamps, air conditioners, and water bottles) via AR HMD and natural multi-modal interaction including gazing, gesture, voice and typing. This AR HMD based remote controller is called Gaze-It. It enables to automatically recognize the user’s current state and adaptively receive multimodal input. Gaze-It can coexist with the current smart home ecosystem dominated by voice control, bring benefits to human intelligent life concurrently, and contribute to the development and popularization of AR HMDs.

Most of the intelligent windows sold on the market are simple windows that can only be opened and closed by remote control, or windows that can be linked with curtains and exhaust fans to achieve other functions. Their functions are relatively single, which can not fully reflect the advantages of 'intelligence', and they are not real intelligent windows. Therefore, in view of this problem, a new type of intelligent window was designed. The design of the window includes the structure design and the control system design based on STM32 MCU. At the same time, the key technology of tracking the sun light and reflecting the sunlight into the room was studied. The angle relationships between the outgoing light and the rotation axis of the mirror louver, the plane of the louver, the incident light and the outgoing light were determined. According to these relationships, the angle of the louver was controlled and adjusted, so as to reflect the outdoor sunlight into the room. Finally, it can realize four functions, such as opening and closing automatically, rain proof, inducing wind and improving indoor lighting, so that it can become a real intelligent window. © 2021 ieee.

After the 2020–2022 COVID-19 pandemic, it is observed that a responsive medical infrastructure and damage control techniques, including application of technology, have become more important than ever before. Many such technologies, including the Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence (AI)-aided decision-making have become relevant. Within such a framework, text-to-scene generation through the incorporation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) becomes a critical element of a pandemic-compliant infrastructure design. Our suggested architecture uses AI algorithms to create sceneries that are dynamically adjusted for pandemic compliance. These sceneries cover a wide range of settings, including as public locations, medical institutions, virtual meeting rooms, and more. Our approach makes use of generator and discriminator blocks as part of a Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) which is further enhanced by several attention layers to generate scenes from test descriptions. The output of the proposed approach ensures that scene creation regarding safety precautions like mask wearing, social distance, and sanitization procedures are included in generated output.

Modern vehicles are now part of a complex digital ecosystem, leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cloud computing for enhanced safety, efficiency, and user experience. However, this digital integration has introduced significant cy-bersecurity challenges, including data protection, unauthorized access prevention, and user privacy. As vehicles become more vulnerable to cyber-attacks, the industry must implement robust cybersecurity measures. Regulations like the UN’s UNR155 and UNR156 establish stringent cybersecurity requirements, demanding comprehensive manage-ment systems, regular updates, and continuous testing to counter evolving threats. These regulations under score the importance of cybersecurity in automotive safety. Future automotive cybersecurity will depend on developing advanced protections and collaboration among manufacturers,policymakers, and cybersecurity experts to ensure innovation and security in an interconnected digital world.
