In recent years, one of the most developed approaches to solving the problem of complex security of objects is the use of access monitoring and control system. At the same time, the correct functioning of the control system under conditions of exposure to electromagnetic interference is the key to their effective use and reliable security of the controlled area. One of the most dangerous and likely sources of electromagnetic interference for control system is electrostatic discharge. Simulation model for the analysis of electromagnetic interference in communication lines of the access control and management system the paper proposes. Examples of modeling electromagnetic interference under the influence of an electrostatic discharge are given. Methods of increasing the noise immunity of control and access control systems under the influence of electrostatic discharge are systematized. © 2021 ieee.

Field-programmable gate array (FPGA) architectures have recently incorporated hardened networks-on-chip (NoCs) to enable more efficient and easier system-level integration. However, the embedding of hard NoCs presents a new challenge for FPGA computer-aided design (CAD); the tools need to optimize the placement of circuit netlist primitives to not only minimize total wirelength and critical path delay, but also consider the NoC traffic patterns between modules to minimize their aggregate bandwidth and/or meet latency constraints. This work enables flexible modeling of FPGA architectures with hard NoCs in the open-source versatile place & route (VPR) CAD flow, facilitating both CAD and architecture research. We enhance the placement engine in VPR to co-optimize traditional circuit implementation metrics (e.g. wirelength, critical path delay) and NoC performance metrics (e.g. congestion, bandwidth utilization, latency) when mapping an application design with NoC-attached modules to a candidate NoC-enhanced FPGA architecture. We test our VPR enhancements using a variety of synthetic benchmarks and verify that the placement engine can effectively optimize NoC aggregate bandwidth and meet specified latency constraints. Then, we present a complete flow that integrates VPR with a high-level systemC architecture simulator, RAD-Sim, that can capture the NoC traffic flows of complete application designs and use it to drive VPR's placement optimizations. We showcase this combined flow using a real application design from the deep learning domain. The results show that our NoC-enhanced VPR flow can result in 2x reduction in NoC aggregate bandwidth (on average) compared to a NoC-agnostic flow, without affecting the design's wirelength or critical path delay.

Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) play a crucial role in improving the coverage and efficiency of millimeter-wave (mmWave) communication systems for Internet of Things (IoT) networks by enhancing signal strength and reducing interference. However, to fully exploit their potential, mathematical models and optimization algorithms are needed to optimize the RIS configuration and control. In this work, we present a mathematical model and optimization algorithm for RIS-aided mmWave communication systems. This paper proposes a mathematical model to capture the effects of RISs on mmWave communication channels, including equations for channel estimation and prediction. We also develop an opti-mization problem to maximize the system throughput, along with a model for optimizing the RIS phase shift using the alternating projection phase shift algorithm. The power allocation algorithm for the mmWave base station is presented using the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) approach. Finally, we perform simulations to validate the proposed solution and compare it with ideal and random phase shift solutions. The results show that our proposed solution performs close to the ideal solution, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed mathematical model and optimization algorithm.

Field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) have succeeded in deep learning (DL) inference due to their high parallelism and low power consumption, potentially enabling the miniaturization of DL-based computer aided diagnosis (CAD) system using liver cancer segmentation. However, state-of-the-art deep learning backbone models tend to enlarge their model capacity or design complex unfolding architectures, which may hinder the implementation on FPGA with relatively slow updates of specs and computational resources. This paper proposes a new method for lightweight inference on FPGAs that combines lightweight modeling and FPGA-based model compression. Firstly, our proposed split-attention-shuffle bottleneck (SASB) is the module that could provide fast adaptation of light weighting to a standard network simply through layer substitution. Secondly, we employ the model compression techniques by means of standard quantization and compilation methods on an in-house prototyping edge device named HIDE, significantly reducing precision of inference model weights but preserving the model accuracy. Experiments show that our method saves budgets of computational resources while preserving comparable performance compared to other heavy-weight models. Our approach is not limited to specialized edge computing devices and can be extended to other deep learning methods and medical imaging modalities, enhancing the potential and impact of portable CAD systems.

Vibratory equipment is widely used in various fields of mechanical, industrial, and manufacturing engineering. Particularly, such machines can be effectively implemented while carrying out finishing technological operations, e.g., glazing, polishing, and lapping of different machine parts. The present paper is focused on developing the control system for the novel design of a vibratory lapping-polishing machine driven by six solenoids. The main purpose consists in providing the circular trajectory of the working member and ensuring the machining uniformity at each point of the surface being treated. In such a case, it is proposed to actuate the solenoids with the specified time shift depending on the forced frequency needed to be provided. The duration of the signal actuating the solenoid is equal to one-sixth of the total duration of a cycle (period) of the working body oscillation. The corresponding control approach is developed and simulated in the Tinkercad application, while the control system is designed based on the Arduino hardware and software. In addition, the laboratory prototype of the vibratory lapping-polishing machine and the corresponding control system are implemented in practice. The performed laboratory studies and experimental tests substantiate the possibilities of generating the circular oscillations of the working member of the vibration-driven lapping-polishing machine. The obtained results may be useful for engineers and technologists dealing with control systems of various vibratory technological equipment based on electromagnetic and solenoid-type drives.

The complexity of controlling robotic system is primarily because of nonlinearity in actuation system and uncertainties in sensing of the surrounding environment. The linear feedback control mechanism is not sufficient to control vehicle maneuver with precision, thus it summons research of adaptive control approach. An adaptive control strategy is most often deployed to control system with unknown plant model or a system with minimal information. The objective of the proposed hybrid control strategy is to deal with non-linearity in the actuation system with minimum tuning effort. An iterative back-stepping mechanism is used to design model reference adaptive control to aid vehicle maneuver. The aim of this paper is to analysis the stability of non-linear lateral dynamics through iterative back-stepping. The proposed controller performance meets the expectation of functionality while driving within the designed system constraints of lateral motion dynamics. This research work deals with the erratic system which remains unstable whenever value of reference signal becomes reasonably high. The adjustable parameters provided in the control input signal of adaptive lateral control aids to control such abrupt changes in motion dynamics specifically in multiple curvature road. The hybrid approach of model reference adaptive lateral control aided with linear heading control is designed in MATLAB and validated in virtual platform of Carmaker. The complex road structure has been modeled in Carmaker to aid in simulation-based testing of lateral control with vehicle model in loop. The performance of model substantiates the efficacy and robustness of proposed control mechanism. © 2021 ieee.

With the continuous deepening of the reform of the power system, power consumers have higher and higher requirements for payment services, it is very important to improve the convenience of payment. In view of the development and changes of marketing business and customer service needs, this paper points out the shortcomings of the existing payment methods of power self-service payment terminal. Aiming at the existing shortcomings, a self-service payment terminal payment method based on QR code technology is designed. It realizes the interaction with the related system through the QR code, combines with the requirements of electricity bill payment business, completes the payment process from payment to write-off, and provides users with more convenient payment services. The design and operation of the system prove that it can effectively improve the user experience, improve the payment efficiency, improve the service level of the power supply company, and provide better and more efficient power service for power consumers. © 2021 ieee.

This work explores the application of fuzzy theory to shorten the development timeline and enhance the flexibility of fan speed control logic for automotive radiators, using vehicle speed and engine temperature as input variables. With the variability of vehicle operating conditions, traditional fan speed control methods often require consideration of multiple parameters such as air conditioning pressure, the amount and temperature of coolant, engine rotational temperature, and various driving conditions, leading to extended development times for fan controllers. To address this, we adopted a fuzzy logic controller (FLC) to design a novel fan speed regulation mechanism that dynamically adjusts fan speed based on real-time changes in vehicle speed and engine temperature. Our research method includes establishing a fuzzy control system model, defining the fuzzy sets for input and output variables, and their corresponding fuzzy rules. Through simulation testing, we evaluated the performance of the fuzzy control strategy under different operating conditions. The results indicate that compared to traditional control methods, the fuzzy control approach provides greater flexibility in fan speed development, thereby ensuring that the engine temperature remains within an ideal range. This study demonstrates the potential of fuzzy theory in controlling complex systems and provides a new approach to enhancing the flexibility of fan development and optimizing vehicle cooling systems. Future work will explore input variables and control strategies to improve system performance and adaptability.

Modern active electronically steered arrays (AESAs) enable highly directional electronic beamforming techniques with an aperture that has a fixed, physically small footprint. By utilizing beamforming radio frequency integrated circuits (RFICs) instead of a digital beamformer, such AESAs can be manufactured in a modular form factor with an industry standard control interface. Modern analog beamforming AESA architecture also decouples the array panel and controller from the radio, greatly reducing communication system complexity. The current practice for designing AESA controllers involves the creation of unique firmware-based controllers that must be designed for a specific AESA panel. Such controllers are expensive to develop and inhibit the modularity of the panel while offering limited functionality to the end-user and hindering future system upgrades. By moving AESA control from firmware to software with a commercial of the shelf (COTS) single-board computer (SBC), the expense of an AESA controller can be greatly reduced in terms of both the non-recurring engineering (NRE) and controller hardware cost. This design approach also creates a reusable software framework that can be quickly modified for controlling different AESA panels with the same low-cost controller. This paper explains how to implement AESA beam steering in software and then demonstrates the performance of a SBC AESA controller that was created with a Raspberry Pi 4 and a low-cost printed circuit board (PCB) daughter card.

Volumetric data is commonly used to understand the structure of an object, like the human body, underground structures, or weather data. However, it is difficult to use this data as it requires expensive equipment and is difficult to automate. This data is expensive to create and catalogue on a large enough scale for a controlled study. We present a solution to this challenge by releasing an open-sourced system to create volumes solely designed for user studies for immersive experiences displayed through a Virtual Reality (VR) or Augmented Reality (AR) headset. By utilizing a system like this, we not only have a clear understanding of how a study can be received in Mixed Reality (MR), but it is possible to have a high level of control over the data, allowing for a higher degree of flexibility in the underlying data design. To facilitate this, we have designed a modular system designed to generate and validate volumes, adhere to a rule set interact within them from a VR or AR interface and evaluate the types of volumes that could be formed.
