As a kind of distributed energy storage system, ice-storage air conditioning (IAC) system is an effective way for transferring cooling load. A parallel adaptive critic design method is constructed for solving the optimal control problem of IAC systems. Adaptive critic design is also called adaptive dynamic programming (ADP). The initial value function of the parallel ADP method is obtained by using particle swarm optimization (PSO) method to pre-train the weights of the neural networks. Another PSO algorithm is utilized in each iteration to achieve the target control, which avoids solving a nonlinear equation in traditional ADP algorithms. Finally, the efficiency of the parallel ADP algorithm will be illustrated through the experiment results.

In this paper we present design aspects regarding a myoelectric Human-Machine Interface (HMI) for the control of a KUKA KR15 industrial robot by using a Thalmic Labs Myo armband. To be functional, the Myo armband needs to be installed on the user's forearm in order to read and interpret the user's arm motion and gestures. Our goal is that the user should be able to control the robot's gripper position by moving his arm. This paper presents the architecture of the system, describes the subsystems and the software code that was used in order to make the system functional and analyze its performance. The results of our work are presented in the paper. In the Conclusions chapter are discussed the limitations of the system and future work.

The paper proposes the design of a neural-network-based control strategy of autonomous vehicles in intersections. The motivation of the neural network approach is to reduce the numerically-intensive computation of the optimization problem in which the motions of autonomous vehicles are formed. In the method the neural network is trained through a preliminary optimal off-line solution. Active-reactive power (PQ) control strategy are widely used in the microgrid-connected operation mode, which is an important part of photovoltaic (PV) systems. However, the direct current (DC) voltage of three-phase alternating current/direct current (AC/DC) converter will generate pulsations twice the fundamental frequency when the AC side voltage of hybrid microgrid is unbalanced, which will result in the formation of a large number of 3rd harmonic components and affect the operation of the microgrid seriously. This paper presents an improved PQ control strategy under the premise of analyzing the output characteristic of inverter in an unbalanced condition. In this control strateo, a voltage compensator is introduced in the traditional PQ control for keeping the active-reactive power constant, which realize proportional integration (PI) control and particle swarm optimization (PSO) of the voltage. The experimental result shows that the improved PQ control strategy can suppress the interference and output power fluctuations caused by the voltage imbalance of the power grid effectively, the improved results achieve the stable operation of the local sensitive load. The proposed control strategy is verified feasible through simulation experiments.

A model-free decentralized sliding mode control (SMC) is proposed via adaptive dynamic programming (ADP) algorithm to solve the problem of optimal tracking control of modular and reconfigurable robots (MRRs) in this paper. The dynamic formulation of MRR is expressed by a synthesis of joint subsystems with interconnected dynamic couplings (IDCs). Based on SMC technique, the optimal control of robotic system is transformed into an optimal compensation problem of unknown dynamics of each subsystem and a neural network (NN) identifier is set up to approximate IDC dynamics. Based on ADP and policy iteration (PI) method, the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman (HJB) equation can be addressed by using the critic NN and the optimal control policy can be obtained. The closed-loop robotic system is proved to be asymptotic stable by using the Lyapunov theory. Finally, simulation results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the method.

Because they are physically interacting with surrounding environments, their misbehavior can critically harm anyone nearby. For their safe operations, it is critical to ensure that their behaviors conform to the specification in normal operational conditions and any hazardous actions due to unexpected operational environments are prevented. In this paper, we introduce a quantitative model checking technique to the design of a controller so that the resulting system satisfies the specification in normal condition. Furthermore, we applied the technique to check and forewarn if a sensor reading now may lead to a violation of the specifications in the future.

Access control plays an important role in restricting the access of key resources, preventing from invasion of illegal users or the damages caused by legal users' unintended operations. However, most of approaches for extending the semantic description of RBAC failed to seamlessly integrate knowledge representation of RBAC and domain specific rules together. In this paper, we present a semantic rules based RBAC extension model for flexible data access and resource allocation. We first give the formal concept of the extension model. Then we discuss how to describe RBAC permission for the seamless integration in the OWL semantic description and the SWRL semantic rule description. At last, we generate the uniform authorization views based on SPARQL query, which include views authorized by both explicit and implicit manners.
