The automatic segmentation of medical images is very important in clinical practice, because it can reduce the costs of diagnosis and therapy planning processes. In order to have a really useful solution, we need to provide automatic algorithms that are both highly accurate and highly efficient. If we need to choose one of them, accuracy usually has the priority over efficiency, but the best way of treating the problem is providing a good trade-off between these two requirements. This paper proposes a feature selection algorithm that attempts to reduce the feature set used by a decision making algorithm such a way that the accuracy does not suffer any significant damage. The feature selection is performed by a Markov clustering algorithm, which receives as input information on all feature pairs regarding their frequency of use and the correctness of the decisions made while using them together in decision making. The proposed method is validated in a brain tumor segmentation problem based on multi-spectral MRI data, in a framework that uses ensemble learning built upon binary decision trees. The proposed method reduces the initial full set of 104 features to 34 without losing anything in terms of segmentation accuracy, thus contributing to the efficiency of the segmentation algorithm. © 2022 ieee.

The current study proposes a network control structure for small low-cost drones like the Parrot Mambo mini-drone. The structure is composed of an inner loop running on the drone, and an outer loop running on a remote computer. The inner loop controls the attitude and altitude of the drone based on Kalman filter estimations from the onboard sensors. The outer loop ensures position tracking based on measurements from OptiTrack cameras. A time delay compensator is added to address the constraints imposed by wireless network communications between the drone and the remote computer. Experimental results using Parrot Mambo drones show good stability and tracking performances, despite model uncertainty and time delay.

This study developed a neural network optimization model to predict anemia using image pixel data and hemoglobin levels. The model was designed to address class imbalance and achieved strong performance, with a test accuracy of 97%, precision of 97%, and recall of 96.88%. Data preprocessing techniques such as z-score normalization and ordinal encoding were applied to standardize the input features, while L2 regularization was used to prevent overfitting. The model's performance was assessed using multiple metrics, such as the F1-score and AUC, highlighting its reliability in anemia prediction. The results indicate that this model offers a reliable and efficient approach for non-invasive anemia detection, making it a valuable tool for clinical use in diagnosing anemia based on image data and hemoglobin levels.

Today's people want to be informed, connected with their friends, co-workers, family members, or even to expand their social circle by communicating with strangers with common interests. At the same time, the portability and accessibility of mobile phones encourage users to keep their mobile phone with them throughout the day and check it regularly, even for no particular reason. But what happens when someone is engaging in a cognitive process? What effect do interruptions have on the mobile user? In this paper, we investigate intercepted interruptions for several users and the collected data is used to discuss the impact of interruptions during a cognitive process, as well as the performed work's quality. Furthermore, a comparison is performed between users' opinions and our findings from interruption analysis. We also propose an algorithm for predicting interruptions generated by mobile phones on three communication channels: call, Short Message Service (SMS) and notification. © 2022 ieee.

This paper introduces a new energy battery active-passive hybrid binocular intelligent inspection system, using structured light and laser line-scan instruments to acquire battery surface image information. Based on the existing 3D reconstruction technology, the active-passive hybrid binocular system is designed. In order to reduce the interference of multiple factors, the 3D measurement anti-interference technique is used. Then, the sub-pixel level binocular matching technique under non-focus is applied to improve the accuracy of binocular vision method and realize high precision 3D reconstruction. For the difficulty that the detection of new energy power battery in different scenes requires a large span of depth-of-field field of view, this system fine-Tunes the VGG16 model and designs a super accurate convolution edge detection model based on VGG16. In order to cope with the situation that a single production line of power batteries may produce different kinds of batteries of different sizes from time to time, this system uses a parallel multi-scale network (HR-net) based image reconstruction CNN to design a self-directed learning model based on Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). Finally, this paper introduces the design and implementation of the active-passive hybrid binocular intelligent detection system for new energy batteries, which demonstrates the better application prospects of this system. © 2023 ieee.

In recent times, a new generation of modern exoskeleton robots has come into existence, that aims to utilize machine learning to learn the specific needs and preferences of its users. A simple way to facilitate a personalization of an exoskeleton to the end user is to make use of incremental algorithms that keep learning throughout their deployment. However, it is not clear, if any standard algorithms are fast enough to keep pace with sudden change points in the data stream, like for example the change in movement pattern from a normal walk to going up the stairs. In this paper, we study how well common incremental regression algorithms are suited to predict such an ongoing data stream. We use both, theoretical benchmarks and real world human movement data, to evaluate how fast an algorithm reacts to change points in the data, and how well it is able to remember reoccurring patterns. The results show that a simple KNN algorithm outperforms all other more sophisticated models.

Transparent slide detection, pick and place automation are obtained in order to boost speed, accuracy and smooth workflow between slide coverslipping and digital scanning operation in digital pathology. Fully automatic, precise, robust solution has been developed by robotic arm using computer vision and image processing techniques. Magazine (slide holder) and gripper design, camera selection and mapping to robot base coordinate system are all guided. Python based software algorithms for slide detection and 3D position determination applied in dynamically changeable environment are also explained step by step. Complete automatic process control method is implemented and tested for different types of slide.

Pumpkins contain a significant amount of betacarotene. Beta-Carotene has numerous biological functions in the human body and because human is not able to synthesize any of them, it is necessary to supply these valuable compounds with food or pharmaceuticals. Internet of thing (IoT) in agriculture is not only reduce the man efforts but also improve the productivity and the efficiency. This research is primarily about the study of effect of beta-carotene in pumpkin between polyhouse and outdoor, because polyhouse is a closed structure protect the plants from weather conditions, insect and pest attacks. The irrigation in polyhouse using automatic drip irrigation, which operate according to the soil moisture threshold. Air temperature control using Fan based on temperature threshold. Analysis of beta carotene contain in pumpkin samples with polyhouse and outdoor process were determined by the samples were collected for three time periods found that the linear regression equation of the curve was y = 0.2111x-0.09161, with a coefficient r(2) = 0.9975. The result show that, plants growing in the green house most are higher than the outdoor.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) swarm is an organic whole formed by a certain number of drones cooperating with each other. It has more advanced and diversified functions and can complete more comprehensive and complex tasks. UAV swarms currently are faced many problems such as low intelligence, rough cooperative control algorithms, and inaccurate behavior prediction. Simulation modeling plays an important role in the research of these critical technologies. Traditional simulation modeling has serious simulation error accumulation and data lag. We propose the design of parallel simulation system for UAV swarms. We complete the related work of dynamic generation of simulation entities, state synchronization between simulation entities and UAVs, and ultra-real-time simulation. Through the performance test, the experimental results prove that UAV swarm parallel simulation system (UAVSPSS) has the ability to dynamically generate the simulation entity in a short time and complete the state synchronization of the simulation entity in a limited time. These results show that the UAV swarms parallel simulation system provides stability of simulation errors and real-time synchronization of data.

Nowadays, computing demand on General-Purpose Graphics Processing Units (GPGPUs) is steadily increasing due to the great interest in machine learning. The computational time or embarrassingly parallel tasks can be reduced with such GPUs by orders of magnitude compared to CPUs. In this paper, we briefly overview a wide range of GPU virtualisation strategies (including API remoting, para/full virtualisation and hardware based virtualisation) and their related methods. The fundamental details are also discussed to understand the differences between the presented solutions. Finally, the key features arc described and are evaluated to help choose an effective baseline Framework for a challenging graph-based machine learning method to he applied in the field of debugging of cloud orchestration.
