Materialized view selection is one of the most crucial techniques to design data warehouse in an optimal manner. To efficiently deal with materialized view selection problem, an efficient materialized view selection algorithm based on memtic algorithm (MA) is presented in this paper. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm achieves much better performance than other related algorithms.

Circulant matrix is important since it is an active research field of applied mathematic and computation mathematic increasingly. R-circulant matrices have applied in numerical computation, signal processing, coding theory and oil investigation in recent years, and so on. In this paper, motivated by [1], we give some discriminations by using only the elements in the first row of the r-circulant matrix on non singularity, and give an example at last. Example indicate that the proposed discriminations are simple and accurate.

In this paper, based on a radial basis function (RBF) neural network, a sliding mode control (SMC) strategy for brushless doubly fed machine (BDFM) is presented. The operating principle of BDFM has been introduced. The dynamic model of rotor field oriented and electromagnetic torque for BDFM is expressed. The proposed controller for BDFM eliminates the chattering encountered by most SMC schemes, and employs the robustness and excellent static and dynamic performances of SMC in the control system. Computer simulation results show that the proposed control strategy is of the feasibility, correctness and effectiveness.

It is well known that there is threshold pressure gradient in low permeability porous media. The mathematic principle of GM(1,N) for threshold pressure gradient was firstly studied. Then the actual measurement data of threshold pressure gradient during the experiment were collected, and 11 reliable data were gained. By selecting 4 factors including viscosity, permeability, density and porosity as the grey modeling forecast indicators, the multivariable forecast model of GM(1,4) for threshold pressure gradient were respectively constructed. The result calculated by use of the model shows that the precision meets the requirements of engineering and the model can be used for predicting TPG. The application of this approach can supply basic data for the development of low permeability oilfield so as to save cost and labor.

Multiple kernel methods are superior to single kernel methods on treating multiple, heterogeneous data sources. Different from the existing multiple kernel methods which mainly work in implicit kernel space, we propose a novel multiple kernel method in empirical kernel mapping space. In empirical kernel mapping space, the combination of kernels can be treated as the weighted fusion of empirical kernel mapping samples. Based this fact, we developed a multiple kernel least squares support vector machine (LSSVM) to realize multiple kernel classification in empirical kernel mapping space. The experiments here illustrate that the proposed multiple LSSVM method is feasible and effective.

Resource-constrained multi-project management is of vital importance in software engineering as it has more uncertainties must be considered. Based on the detailed analyses to popular and significant approaches, such as CPM, PERT, CCPM, and the dynamic characteristics of software multi-project management, this paper argues a dynamic model with project and activity weights to solve the scheduling problem on resource-constrained multi-project, and analyzes an example in detail. The method can also be suitable for similar complicated project management in other domains.

Data fusion was used to predict the safe value of grain environment in different operational conditions. The temperature, humidity, moisture, pest and etc, were used as inputs to the data fusion center and network. Feed-forward artificial neural networks with 4-10-5 arrangements were capable to estimate the safe value of grain environment as the outputs. This method, characterized by sufficiently utilizing the effective detected data, optimizing homogeneous data, and considering the complementation of the different data source makes possible an improvement in the reliability and entirety of detection system.

The multi-modal corpus is established on the "theory of speech". In this paper, a framework of multi-modal corpus for mandarin learning system is presented. The system included five layers which are the physical storage layer, the data description layer, the network layer, the filter layer and the user layer. This system framework is based on the J2EE technologies. The principles of data structure design and the information retrieval model are discussed. This multi-modal corpus covered the entire speech activity that included language, sound, image and action, so it is suitable for the computer-assisted language learning.

In many physical applications, we must solve a system of linear equations AXB = C. We know that the Kronecker product can get a convenient representation for linear equations AXB = C. In this paper, let A and C be deoted 4×4 reducible companion matrices. We study the property of the Kippenhahn curve C_R (C) and of the numerical rang W(A) being an elliptic disc by making use of matrices Kronecker product and the Kippenhahn curve C_R (C) continuely.

In this paper, based on the radial basis function (RBF) neural network, a fuzzy predictive current control strategy for the doubly fed machine (DFM) is presented. The dynamic model of voltage, flux linkage, electromagnetic torque and mechanical motion equation for DFM are expressed. Because the DFM structure is complex and the DFM parameters are variable according to the operating conditions and environments, in order to improve the dynamic performances of DFM, the RBF neural network and fuzzy predictive control theories are employed to design the current controller in the DFM adjustable speed system. Simulation results show effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.
