Flooding hinders the ability of residents to move through-out urban areas. Current weather information systems provide weather forecasts with a granularity too coarse to inform city residents of floods at a street level. Reliable real-time data is also limited in some cities and only a few systems enable users to report flooding events. This research project aims to inform residents about flooding events through the Flooding Alert System (FAS), which seamlessly integrates real-time data, crowdsourced data, historical data and provides timely and precise information to users so that they can make informed decisions during these events. The proposed Smart Cities solution, uses Internet of Things sensors equipped with an imageprocessing algorithm for approximating the water level at at-risk areas. In adittion, a mobile application allows users to report and receive alerts of nearby flooding events as they occur. The expected products will be piloted in Guadalajara, JAL, MX. Transferability of our solution is planned to be evaluated through the application of these products in El Paso, TX, USA.

This paper presents the computational modeling results of the rubber extrusion manufacturing process. The impact of the die swell phenomenon is quantified by running iterative models, differentiating the inflow rate. The extrudate's dimensions are identified by making use of imageprocessingalgorithms for detecting the edge. Also, the velocity values at the outlet are calculated for various inflow rates and are presented graphically. The generated rules are correlating the manufacturing parameters with the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and can predict the extrudate's dimensions towards zero defect manufacturing. This paper presents the use of hyperspectral imageprocessing as an alternative to traditional mineral exploration techniques for identification of regions in the study area rich in zinc mineral. Zincian Dolomite is a known ore of zinc found in the study area. The Hyperion sensor dataset of a study area in Rajasthan, India is obtained from the USGS (United States Geological Survey) Earth explorer and pre-processed using ENvI (Environment for visualizing images) software to remove noise. The pre-processed data is later exported to a dedicated python program which uses machine learning algorithms to identify the regions rich in Zincian Dolomite. The proposed technique form mineral exploration is faster and cheaper than the traditional techniques and is also found to be very accurate in identification of the minerals.

With the development of Internet information technology, reliable transmission of multimedia data such as images and videos is becoming more and more important. For the traditional data encryption technology can not be effectively used in the current image encryption, this paper proposes a color image encryption algorithm based on two hyperchaotic systems and DNA coding and studies its performance. Firstly, a color image is divided into three channels: R, G, and B. Then, the random matrix generated by Logistic mapping and the three-channel matrix of plaintext image are partitioned into blocks. The random sequence generated by Chen hyperchaotic system is used to determine the DNA encoding and decoding mode and DNA operation mode of each channel of plaintext image RGB and each sub-block of random matrix. The DNA encoding and decoding mode and the DNA operation mode of each sub-block are performed in parallel and the Logistic chaotic system is used to map out the sequence to perform row and column replacement on the ciphertext image. Finally merge the encrypted sub-blocks to get the encrypted image. At the same time, the paper analyzes the encryption effect by histograms of R, G and B channels, information entropy, adjacent pixel correlation and key sensitivity simulation. By comparing the simulation results with other algorithms, it can be concluded that the image encryption effect is objective and has the characteristics of high security, large key space and strong anti-attack performance.

A fundamental problem in imaging remote sensing systems is that of scale and resolution. The ability to resolve an object at a distance requires a high resolution sensor, with pixels subtending a small portion of the total field-of-view (FOv) of the imaging system. Traditional approaches to addressing this challenge are fundamentally data limited. To this end, we implemented foveating data reduction models inspired by the bi-foveated vision of birds of prey. The development of such systems for multiple target detection and tracking for air-to-ground target acquisition is important for several defense applications. The relative merits and disadvantages of various optical imaging technologies as well as several image transformations, sampling schemes, and object tracking algorithms were explored. variable focal lens controlled by pressure, external voltage, or microfluidics demonstrate potential for devices requiring high resolution within a specified range. The distortion, coma, and spherical aberrations that occur can be corrected through the use of adaptive optics and custom 3D printed lenses. In conjunction with the hardware aspects, algorithmic approaches were also considered. The use of dynamically generated, moving foveal regions was investigated for use in motion tracking and object detection algorithms. Through the use of imaging systems with exceptionally large fields of view and localized areas of high resolution, machine vision systems can be implemented with less computational and data overhead. The implementation of our system is suited to use in either unmanned aerial vehicle or autonomous vehicle applications.
