This paper presents the application program of fingerprint detection using wavelet transform for authentication. Fingerprints are obtained from the site of crime, old documents and excavated things. This paper proposes a fingerprint recognition technique based on wavelet-based texture pattern recognition method. By collecting incomplete fingerprints of 2 people with 6 images each. The original seven of uncompleted fingerprint images were undetected and only one was detected. After enhancing image quality using wavelet transform method, it was found that those of seven images were completed. The comparison method was a matching technique. This work focuses on the ability of the program and knowledge of imageprocessing by studying algorithms of imageprocessing. In design algorithm process, different technique enhancements were employed as well as the study of different of filters and algorithms based on existing research results from literature.

The detection of targets in military and security applications involves the usage of sensor systems which consist of a variety of sensors such as seismic, acoustic, magnetic and image ones as well. In order to extract signal features, which characterize particular targets, using of appropriate signal processingalgorithms is required. Seismic signals can be considered as nonstationary and nonlinear signals especially in near-field seismic zone. Most of the signal processingalgorithms assumed that signals are linear and stationary. However, in many cases this assumption is not valid, especially in case of seismic signals generated by moving vehicles, walking persons or gunfire activity. There are several methods which can be used for seismic signal processing, like short-time Fourier transform (STFT), Wavelet transform (WT) and Wigner-Ville distribution (WVD). The paper presents the concept of the seismic sensor system based on Micro-Electro-Mechanical-System (MEMS) sensor SF1500S. A dedicated to vehicle detection. The main part of the paper deals with application of the Hilbert-Huang transform (HHT) to seismic signal processing in time and time-frequency domain. In conclusion, the outcomes of experiments provide comparison of HHT and STFT efficiency in terms of seismic features description of moving vehicle.

Color which is one of the basic features of the image is widely used in imageprocessing. The choice of color space is a primary issue for the color image segmentation based on color features. In this paper, giant pandas are chosen as the research objects. In order to achieve good segmentation results, different color spaces and the corresponding algorithms are chosen for image segmentation according to the color characteristics of different background of panda images. There are three kinds of color spaces introduced in detail and its advantages and disadvantages for the giant panda image segmentation are also summarized in this paper.

Night vision systems get more and more attention in the field of automotive active safety field. In this area, a number of researchers have proposed far-infrared sensor based night-time vehicle detection algorithm. However, existing algorithms have low performance in some indicators such as the detection rate and processing time. To solve this problem, we propose a far-infrared image vehicle detection algorithm based on visual saliency and deep learning. Firstly, most of the nonvehicle pixels will be removed with visual saliency computation. Then, vehicle candidate will be generated by using prior information such as camera parameters and vehicle size. Finally, classifier trained with deep belief networks will be applied to verify the candidates generated in last step. The proposed algorithm is tested in around 6000 images and achieves detection rate of 92.3% and processing time of 25 Hz which is better than existing methods.

We propose two methods for recovering the reflectance spectra of given colorimetric data by using the nonnegative constraints in reflectance spectra. We formulate the problem of reflectance spectra recovery as a non-negative least squares problem and solve it with two iterative methods. Experimental results demonstrate that the two methods give similar recovery results, where Macbeth ColorChecker data are used for recovering the reflectance spectra of Neugebauer primary colors. We also transform the recovered reflectance spectra into tristimulus values to visualize them, where an ad hoc scaling operation is introduced for brightening the recovered colors.

Interpolation is the most executed operation and one of the main bottlenecks in embedded imaging, registration, and rendering systems. Existing methods either lack parallelization and scalability capabilities or are too computationally complex to execute efficiently. Acknowledging that improving execution time leads to degradation in image quality, we formulate a novel Negative Squared Distance (NSD) interpolation method that exhibits excellent performance by exploiting Look-Up Table (LUT) optimization for Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) speedup, with a balanced trade-off in quality in our embedded endomicroscopic imaging system. Quantitative analysis on performance and resource utilization of NSD against existing methods is reported through an implementation on a Xilinx ML605 platform. Functional validation using practical image resizing and rotation applications to compare qualitative performance against existing algorithms is performed and presented with visual and numerical results. Our method is shown to have a smaller design size and produces a maximum throughput of over twofold against trilinear interpolation with on-par image quality as the baseline method.

In this research, a matrix notation method to extract discrete orthogonal Racah moments is proposed to reduce the computation time. To verify this new computational method, the image reconstructions from higher orders of Racah moments are performed. Our experimental results show that the Racah moments computing time has been reduced tremendously, while the testing image can be reconstructed completely by Racah moments of orders up to 510 without any error.

Automatic snore detection system based on ARM processor has been designed in our work that only uses single microphone recording snore sound. It can assist a noninvasive and portable diagnosis for sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (SAHS) based on digital signal processing. The 32-bit microcontroller STM32F407 is selected as main hardware of embedded system. To make full use of the ARM resources, SAHS snore diagnosis task is decomposed into several steps with different priority. Real-time screening of snore is implemented based on recording of nocturnal snore sound. Meanwhile the SAHS snore and simple snore are discriminated by the Earth mover's distance (EMD) algorithm which is online completed. Therefore, apnea-hypopnea index (AHI: the average number of apneic events per hour of sleep) is calculated and screening result is obtained.
