The multi-source information holds a great importance in processing complex and imprecise data. Unfortunately, it requires an adequate formalism capable to modelize and to fuse several information. The evidence theory distinguishes from all formalism by its capacity to modelize and treat imprecise and imperfect data. In this context, the high resolution images represent a huge amount of data and needs multi-source information to perform patternrecognition. In this paper, we present an adaption of the distance operator introduced by Denoeux for estimating belief functions. Statistical patternrecognition is one of the basic techniques for land use/land cover classification of remotesensingimage. Focusing on establishing a method to integrate statistical patternrecognition with geosciences' analysis, this paper proposed a segmentation-based remotely sensed imagery classification method, called ISODATA-Geosciences imagery Classification (ISOGIC). The result from case application of TM image in Yanchi County shows that ISOGIC can distinguish large land types via ISODATA clustering, while geosciences knowledge including topography, soil type and vegetation type, etc. can significantly improve the accuracy of cultivated land, different types of forests, different coverage grassland, sandy land and saline and alkaline land. The average classification accuracy is up to 87.9%. Compared to Pixel-based maximum likelihood method, the segmentation-based remotely sensed imagery classification method can effectively resolve problems such as same object with different spectrums and different object with same spectrums.

Being an efficient method of information fusion, image fusion has been used in many fields such as machine vision, medical diagnosis, military applications and remotesensing. In this paper, Pulse Coupled Neural Network (PCNN) is introduced in this research field for its interesting properties in imageprocessing, including segmentation, target recognition et al., and a novel algorithm based on PCNN and Wavelet Transform for Multi-focus image fusion is proposed. First, the two original images are decomposed by wavelet transform. Then, based on the PCNN, a fusion rule in the Wavelet domain is given. This algorithm uses the wavelet coefficient in each frequency domain as the linking strength, so that its value can be chosen adaptively. Wavelet coefficients map to the range of image gray-scale. The output threshold function attenuates to minimum gray over time. Then all pixels of image get the ignition. So, the output of PCNN in each iteration time is ignition wavelet coefficients of threshold strength in different time. At this moment, the sequences of ignition of wavelet coefficients represent ignition timing of each neuron. The ignition timing of PCNN in each neuron is mapped to corresponding image gray-scale range, which is a picture of ignition timing mapping. Then it can judge the targets in the neuron are obvious features or not obvious. The fusion coefficients are decided by the compare-selection operator with the firing time gradient maps and the fusion image is reconstructed by wavelet inverse transform. Furthermore, by this algorithm, the threshold adjusting constant is estimated by appointed iteration number. On the base of analyzing the disadvantages of the negative selection algorithm, a bidirectional selection algorithm based on artificial immune system is presented. Clone selection and mutation algorithms are used on the training sample set to obtain mature antibody set. Then the mature antibody set can be used to classify the remotesensingimage. It is demonstrated that this algorithm is superior to conventional maximum likelihood classification. Its accuracy reaches 87.4 percent.

Vega has been widely used in Virtual Reality (VR) field. Vega infrared (IR) module can implement IR simulation, but Vega IR imaging simulation's general approach does not apply to large-scale scene's infrared simulation problem. This article deeps into large-scale scene IR image simulation through Vega infrared module based on visible image, the scene's corresponding Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data and targets' 3D model. A real time large-scale IR simulation system is successfully designed and realized in this paper. At the aspect of image classification, a coarse to fine k-means clustering method based on the consistency of image color is proposed. The proposed automatic texture material mapping method based on the development of Vega TMM tool provides a fast and convenient way for large-scale scene's IR simulation based on Vega IR module. And finally, results of the large-scale scene infrared simulation show the effectiveness of this method.
