Real-time monitoring is one of the Emerging duties in IoMT, and numerous systems have been developed to ensure the patient health monitor with efficient sensors capable of sensing, processing, and wireless communication may be used to collect data for environmental and smart health monitoring. These sensors are connected via wireless sensor networks. They transfer data to the cloud via IoT protocols and technology for storage and processing. This allows for the prediction of possible equipment breakdowns using past data. At times, the volume of data transmitted to the cloud or the time it takes to transfer data to the cloud and back to the sensors/actuators might be excessive. Moving some of the processing closer to the sensors can help minimize the amount of network and cloud resources consumed in these instances. In order to give cloud access, fog installations need to determine the architecture for joining sensors and gateways. sensors often create data streams that may be pre-processed, aggregated, or filtered before they reach the cloud. Gateways can also be utilized to undertake data analytics. As a result, fog organization is critical for balancing computational load and network resource utilization on public clouds in order to reduce latency and save money. Service irregularity detection is a type of predictive maintenance that may be carried out even if no data from prior equipment failures is available. When available, machine-learning algorithms based on binary classification are used to predict breakdowns in the near future, allowing for repairs or replacements to be scheduled. The prediction models are trained and assessed using historical data, which includes information on prior equipment failures. Because historical data might be massive, real-time cloud storage is a possibility, leading in cloud-based predictive maintenance. Internet of Things is made up of sensor nodes that can sense the given environment, gather the data from environment and then communicates the data to the sink node and the internet through wireless communication. As it follows the routing protocols used in Wireless sensor networks, the Denial of Service (DoS) attacks including selective forwarding and flooding are launched by the attackers through Routing Protocol for Low-Power and Lossy Network (RPL) attacks. Intrusion detection systems are able to handle the RPL based DoS attacks and can prevent the attackers from participation in the routing process. Therefore, we propose a new fuzzy temporal random forest algorithm for detecting the attacks more efficiently. In addition, a new intelligent agent based intrusion prevention system which uses fuzzy temporal inference rules for intrusion prevention is also proposed in this work. The proposed model has been compared with other machine learning algorithms such as decision trees, logistic regression, random forest, K-Nearest Neighbor and also the deep learning algorithm namely the Convolution neural networks. Based on the experimentations carried out, we could prove that the proposed algorithm provides higher intrusion detection accuracy, reduces the false positive rate and detection time when compared with the related work. © IFIP International Federation for information processing 2023.

Due to the high activation sparsity and use of accumulates (AC) instead of expensive multiply-and-accumulates (MAC), neuromorphic spiking neural networks (SNNs) have emerged as a promising low-power alternative to traditional DNNs for several computer vision (CV) applications. However, most existing SNNs require multiple time steps for acceptable inference accuracy, hindering real-time deployment and increasing spiking activity and, consequently, energy consumption. Recent works proposed direct encoding that directly feeds the analog pixel values in the first layer of the SNN in order to significantly reduce the number of time steps. Although the overhead for the first layer MACs with direct encoding is negligible for deep SNNs and the CV processing is efficient using SNNs, the data transfer between the image sensors and the downstream processing costs significant bandwidth and may dominate the total energy. To mitigate this concern, we propose an in-sensor computing hardware-software co-design framework for SNNs targeting image recognition tasks. Our approach reduces the bandwidth between sensing and processing by 12-96× and the resulting total energy by 2.32× compared to traditional CV processing, with a 3.8% reduction in accuracy on ImageNet. © 2023 IEEE.

The rapid development of urbanization in China has brought many serious "urban diseases", especially in the field of transportation. The situation and contradictions are becoming increasingly severe. For this reason, many intelligent transportation systems (ITS) based on various sensors (such as radio frequency, electromagnetic induction, infrared, and video processing) have been born in combination with the current research of various high and new technologies, especially the sensor technology of the Internet of things. Double car merging is a common problem in traffic. To solve this problem, intelligent vehicles should be able to detect other vehicles and merge with them at the right time. Electromagnetic induction (EMI) has been used as a means of detecting the presence of another vehicle and its distance from the current position of the vehicle. However, there are some problems in the use of electromagnetic interference. This paper presents an intelligent system based on image processing technology. The system can overcome these problems and provide accurate information about the position of other vehicles and the distance between them and the current position of the first car or truck. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In this paper, a fisheries aquaculture water quality monitoring system based on the IoT is designed. The design of the system is based on the development board STM32F103 as the main controller. The system uses WIFI wireless transmission network, wireless module equipped with various monitoring sensors, real-time collection of aquaculture site water quality temperature, turbidity value and other data. The data is transmitted to the monitoring interface of the top computer to provide real-time monitoring interface for aquaculture personnel. After our system test, the water quality information of fishery aquaculture environment can be monitored, which confirms the feasibility of the system. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The rapid development of thermal issues in Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) has significantly affected the delay performance of these devices, necessitating in-depth study. Ring oscillators, commonly employed as digital temperature sensors in FPGAs, offer a means to sense thermal effects. In this paper, we focus on measuring and studying the delay performance degradation of Xilinx Zynq-7 series FPGAs, based on a 28nm process, when subjected to long-term high temperature working environments. We utilize the internal logic resources of the FPGA to create an embedded ring oscillator, which acts as a temperature sensor. A temperature sensing network is then established to collect frequency data. The degradation of the output frequency of the ring oscillator serves to characterize the delay performance degradation of the FPGA under long-term high temperature operation. After subjecting three target devices to continuous high-temperature degradation experiments for 514 hours, the results highlight that the majority of the ring oscillators exhibit approximately 1% frequency degradation. Moreover, some instances of more pronounced and irreversible degradation were observed. Finally, we briefly analyze the failure mechanism. This experiment provides a theoretical method and experimental support for the study of the thermal characteristics of domestically produced FPGAs. © 2023 IEEE.

In the domain of autonomous driving technology, integrating diverse sensors is essential for precise 3D object detection. The fusion of the multimodal sensor data, offering unique insights like semantic richness from cameras, spatial accuracy from LiDAR, and velocity assessments from radars, is vital but poses significant challenges due to differences in format, scale, and perspective. Present research methods, including aligning multi-sensor data to a consistent perspective and developing a unified bird's eye view (BEV), attempt to mitigate these challenges while striving to preserve data integrity. To further progress in this area, we introduce PasteFusion, an innovative multimodal fusion framework tailored for 3D object detection within autonomous driving systems. This framework uniquely merges LiDAR and image data using a deformable attention mechanism combined with convolutional fusion, thereby obviating the need for intricate transformations and monocular depth estimation. Furthermore, we present the Paste-Aug algorithm, an advanced approach for harmonizing image and point cloud data augmentation. This algorithm effectively addresses occlusions in the image domain, thus reducing computational demands. Our approach has demonstrated significant improvements in 3D object detection, as evidenced by outstanding results on the nuScenes validation set, achieving a mAP of 69.4% and a NDS of 72.4%. © 2024 SPIE.

With the high convergence of communication systems and radar systems in hardware and information processing, Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) technology has been proposed as a new research hotspot. It is not only effectively utilizing limited resources, but also communication function and sensing function can help each other to achieve integration gain. It is foreseeable that ISAC will play an important role in the next-generation wireless networks like 6G or 5G-Advanced. This paper first introduces the concept of ISAC technology and introduces the types of working model. Next, several different practical application scenarios are discussed, and three stages of ISAC systems are further introduced. Finally, ISAC faces challenges such as selfinterference, Hash rate or signal detection are introduced, and this paper also provides several possible research directions for solve these challenges. The purpose of this paper is to clarify the overall framework of ISAC and point out the parts worthy of further exploration. We hope that this paper will help researchers who want to researching ISAC technology.

To address the constraints of limited transmission bandwidth and power consumption in wireless sensor networks (WSNs), this paper proposes a direct localization method using one-bit quantized measurements. Specifically, the received signal is quantized into its one bit version at the local sensor before being transmitted to the fusion center (FC) for target localization. Recognizing the imperfections of the wireless channel between the sensors and the FC, a channel-aware position estimator using one-bit quantized measurements is proposed. Furthermore, the Cramér-Rao lower bound (CRLB) of the proposed channel-aware estimator is also derived to theoretically assess the localization performance. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed channel-aware position estimator approaches its theoretical performance bounds and is superior compared to that of the channel-unaware estimator. © 2024 European Signal processing conference, EUSIPCO. Backscatter tag based sensing has received a lot of attention recently due to the battery-free, low-cost and widespread use of backscatter tags, e.g., RFIDs. Despite that, they suffer from an extensive, costly, and time-consuming redesign effort when there are changes in application requirements, such as changes in sensing targets or working frequency bands. This paper introduces a reconfigurable sensing framework, which enables us to easily reconfigure the design parameters of chipless backscatter tags for sensing different targets or working with different frequency bands, without the need of onerous design effort. To realize this vision, we capture the relationship between the application requirements and the sensing tag's design parameters. This relationship enables us to fast and efficiently reconfigure/change an existing sensing tag design for meeting new application requirements. Real-world experiments show that, by using our reconfigurable framework to flexibly redesign a tag's parameters, the sensing tag achieves more than 92.1% accuracy for sensing four different applications and working on four different frequency bands.
