A huge growth of big cities, the number of vehicles are increased significantly and large buildings and parking lots have been built. Smarter parking systems need to be developed to assist drivers in finding nearby parking spaces available. Various research efforts have been shown in developed countries in such system implementation. There are four main types of systems of parking management: wired sensor based, image based, counter based, and based on wireless sensors. This paper combines computer vision and LoRa wireless technology and worked on image-based system to find empty slot in the parking lot. Following the first edge detection category, includes front/rear pixel rate, closed contour density, and edge density. For all car parks to determine if the vehicle exists or not and to update this information to the user using wireless technology in a way that saves power and performance offline while minimizing system maintenance costs. © 2023 IEEE.

To address the issues of resource wastage, environmental pollution, and low crop productivity associated with traditional agricultural fertilization methods, we present a smart fertilization robot system based on multi-sensor fusion. This system integrates visual (OpenMV), temperature and humidity (DHT11), and light intensity (BH1750) sensors, leveraging advanced algorithms such as Kalman filtering, Bayesian inference, and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks to achieve robust environmental perception and precise fertilization decision-making in complex agricultural settings. Experimental results demonstrate significant improvements in fertilization accuracy and resource efficiency, with a 20% reduction in fertilizer waste and an increase in fertilization precision from ±20% to ±2% compared to manual fertilization. The system also exhibits strong adaptability and stability under varying light intensities, soil moistures, and crop growth stages. Our study not only provides an effective technological solution for precision agriculture but also paves a new way for the application of multi-sensor fusion in agricultural robots.

Monitoring heart rate and breathing is essential in understanding the physiological processes for sleep analysis. Polysomnography (PSG) system have traditionally been used for sleep monitoring, but alternative methods can help to make sleep monitoring more portable in someone's home. This study conducted a series of experiments to investigate the use of pressure sensors placed under the bed as an alternative to PSG for monitoring heart rate and breathing during sleep. The following sets of experiments involved the addition of small rubber domes - transparent and black - that were glued to the pressure sensor. The resulting data were compared with the PSG system to determine the accuracy of the pressure sensor readings. The study found that the pressure sensor provided reliable data for extracting heart rate and respiration rate, with mean absolute errors (MAE) of 2.32 and 3.24 for respiration and heart rate, respectively. However, the addition of small rubber hemispheres did not significantly improve the accuracy of the readings, with MAEs of 2.3 bpm and 7.56 breaths per minute for respiration rate and heart rate, respectively. The findings of this study suggest that pressure sensors placed under the bed may serve as a viable alternative to traditional PSG systems for monitoring heart rate and breathing during sleep. These sensors provide a more comfortable and non-invasive method of sleep monitoring. However, the addition of small rubber domes did not significantly enhance the accuracy of the readings, indicating that it may not be a worthwhile addition to the pressure sensor system. © 2023 The Authors. To processing plant-wide data, it is not uncommon for there to be issues with sensors. Some examples of these issues include sensor failures, sensor calibration difficulties, sensor fouling and blockage, and connection problems between sensors, actuators, and the data management system. These problems may have an effect on the quality of the data, which will make it more difficult to implement sophisticated data-driven monitoring and control of (crucial) water operations. A method for the intelligent validation of data is provided in this article. The sensor data coming from a wastewater treatment plant are validated and verified by this process. The application for data validation has been integrated, tested, and put into production at the water utility known as Water Net. The method of validation is predicated on an anomaly detector that, in the event that an anomaly is found, combines (statistical) threshold-based procedures, (AI-based) autoencoder model predictions, and a component for data reconciliation. This occurrence repeats itself whenever an anomaly of some kind is found. In spite of the signal's volatility, the autoencoder models displayed outstanding levels of accuracy and great reconciliation performance. In addition, signals for both verified and raw data are provided in a way that is extremely near to real time to a dashboard. This keeps the dashboard up to date with the most recent information. Validated data may also be utilized as a screening tool for data that is being ingested by another AI-based model in order to monitor and intelligently manage the wastewater treatment plant, as well as to minimize greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption while maintaining effluent water quality requirements. These goals may be accomplished while still meeting all applicable criteria. If this were done, it would be in compliance with the regulations for maintaining the effluent water's quality. © 2023 IEEE.

WSNs are a system of spatially distributed sensors that sense some environmental phenomena and communicate the information without wires to a central system. Now, integration with the IoT further strengthens WSNs in aspects such as real-time data collection, analysis, and decision making across diverse network applications, fueling innovation in smart environments. Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are normally groups of sensors that gather information about their surroundings and transmit it to the main system without the use of wires. The role of the Internet of Things in WSN is to provide an avenue through which the data from the sensors can be shared in real-time, hence making smart systems efficient and responsive This paper present a qualitative research paradigm where systematic literature survey has been conducted on many articles in which IoT based WSN articles published in the last five years along with a qualitative analysis of performance indicators of 20 real-world IoT-enhanced WSNs. The findings reveal that IoT integration significantly improves WSN capabilities in three key areas: It has achieved (1) network longevity, which is a 40% increase in overall sensor lifespan; (2) data accuracy, with the observation that it has cut down on false positives by 25%; and (3) real-time responsiveness, which has proven to have truncated the delay in data transmission by 60%. Nevertheless, we also pinpoint the threats in the security and privacy domains, where 75% of investigated systems are vulnerable to cyber threats. The researchers establish that IoT greatly accelerates the WSN applications in smart city and environment monitoring, but this comes with the need to enforce better security and standardized procedures for optimal use of IoT in achieving the WSN application goals. This research therefore offers a systematic map for researchers and practitioners to foster the integration of IoT in WSN applications towards intelligent and reliable sensor networks in the

In order to further support the development of arrayed impedance-based icing detection technology, a temperature drift self-compensation method that does not depend on traditional temperature sensors is proposed for the ice thickness measurement error problem caused by temperature variation. The method achieves compensation by establishing a mapping relationship between relaxation time and temperature to calculate the temperature of the ice layer. A theoretical model to describe the temperature drift characteristics of complex dielectric constant based on the relaxation polarization principle is established, and the ice layer temperature calculation method is proposed on the basis of complex impedance measurement. The experimental results show that the method reduces the error of ice thickness measurement, and the root mean square error reaches 0.09 mm in ice cases below 4 mm, which is clearly better than the uncompensated results. © 2023 IEEE.

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) emerging as a powerful technique for maintaining habitats in green spaces, getting information about actions in danger zones, keeping a close watch on infrastructure, including keeping a eye on suspicious behavior on the battleground. Power, space, and processing power constraints are quite significant for nodes in a sensor network. The adoption of appropriate routing algorithms is vital for lengthening the longevity of the sensor nodes. A common routing protocol could not be appropriate for sensor networks through all tasks, despite the fact that sensors are designed exclusively for surveillance and delivering activities. And the proto- cols elucidate the interaction of nodes with one another and the spreading of data among them throughout the network. The wireless communication sector has developed dozens of novel routing algorithms over the past 15 years that were aimed at the various designing domain possibilities. This paper demonstrates variety of routing protocols, which includes data centric, hierarchical, location based and Quality of Service (QoS) based protocols, employed in WSNs. Our framework's objective is to inspect the WSNs and throw light on the classification of protocols. The paper is concluded with the future possibilities of such protocols in WSNs. © 2022 IEEE.
