The paper discusses the problem of the decision process of controlling the bio-prosthesis of the hand that is treated as the human intention recognition by means of the analysis of the electromyography (EMG) signals from the hand muscles. The number of movements, which is indispensable for the dexterity of the prosthesis, makes the recognition not entirely reliable. The approach presented herein includes three methods: the decision tree, neuron networks, and genetic algorithms in order to enhance the reliability of the EMG signal recognition. Simultaneously, the paper presents the software designed for the needs of the research and adapted to processing the EMG signals in compliance with these methods.

For controlling the prosthetic hand by only electroencephalogram (EEG), it has become the hot spot in robotics research to set up a direct communication and control channel between human brain and prosthetic hand. In this paper, the EEG signal is analyzed based on multi-complicated hand activities. And then, two methods of EEG pattern recognition are investigated, a neural prosthesis hand system driven by BCI is set up, which can complete four kinds of actions (arm's free state, arm movement, hand crawl, hand open). Through several times of off-line and on-line experiments, the result shows that the neural prosthesis hand system driven by BCI is reasonable and feasible, the C-support vector classifiers-based method is better than BP neural network on the EEG pattern recognition for multi-complicated hand activities.

In this paper, the problem of bounded-input bounded-output (BIBO) stabilization for a class of Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy neutral systems is considered. Based on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, the descriptor system approach, the unitary matrix and the LMI approach, sufficient conditions guaranteeing BIBO stabilization of the T-S fuzzy neutral systems are established in terms of LMIs. Spectrum sensing is expected to be one of key problems in cognitive UWB networks. For a constant CUWB terminators, the more detection time, the less spectrum sensing terminators are needed in order to maintain a target probability of detection, the lower of the spectrum sensing users' average throughput, the higher throughput of the others, while the less detection time, the more spectrum sensing terminators are needed, the higher average throughput of the spectrum sensing users, the lower of the others' throughput, therefore there is a tradeoff. In this paper, under the constraint that the licensed users are sufficiently protected, the impacts of sensing time and the number of the spectrum sensing users on total throughput in cooperative spectrum sensing are discussed. Through simulation, the optimum numbers of spectrum sensing users and sensing time are got, which can help the CUWB terminators improve the total throughput and utilize the licensed frequent bands more effective.

In this paper, a sliding mode observer is proposed based on the high frequency signal injection to estimate rotor position of the sensorless permanent magnet synchronous motor. Simulation results verify this sliding mode observer with good dynamic performance and strong robustness can accurately track the rotor position.

This paper proposes a agricultural robot's complete coverage path-planning method based on sub-region to avoid the overabundance of turns in narrow areas. First, a given environment is divided into several sub-regions without preserves. Second, the robot finds out the covering order of subregions by transforming it into the problem of Depth-First Search (DFS), and then it can cover all sub-regions in the DFS order. When covering every sub-region, the robot travels along the longer side of sub-region. The simulation experiment verifies that the sub-region covering method can effectively reduce the number of turns.

To reduce signal overhead, we present a bitmap coding method which just codes changing bits between two continuous bitmaps sent by the same peer. Our method has a novel characteristic that the smaller the bitmap exchange interval is, the shorter the coded sequence is. The average compression ratio of our method is 13.46:1 for real bitmaps crawled from PPLive. For the same bitmap crawled from UUSee, the average compression ratio of UUSee's coding method is 6.26:1, but that of our method is 9.96:1. Besides high compression ratio, our method is also very simple for coding and decoding.

In the area of hyperspectral image detection, Constrained Energy Minimization (CEM) algorithm has received considerable interest recently. However, it is very sensitive to noise and can only detect one target at one time. In order to solve this problem, Winner-Take-All Constrained Energy Minimization (WTACEM) was proposed. Based on it, we propose a modified multi-target detection approach. We study the sample correlation matrix and find if we exclude the desired target pixel vectors from the correlation matrix, we can achieve better results. The simulation results indicate that the errors caused by the modified WTACEM have decreased obviously and the output is more close to the true abundance fraction. The experiment also shows that when the abundance fraction of target increases, the detection performance improves.
