Rolling process is a complex system. This paper analyzes the production process of rolling based on multi-agent technology, and generalizes four types agent, namely, travelling crane agent, heating furnace agent, buffer agent and rolling mill agent, which is devoted to the use of Petri Nets for modeling and describing of dynamic systems. Then, a Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) model is developed. Moreover, communication model is designed to prove that the MAS can exactly represent the actual situation. At last, the characteristics of the model are analyzed, and the behavior reasoning of running process of the MAS by task-driven of the model is done.

Spectrum sensing is expected to be one of key problems in cognitive UWB networks. For a constant CUWB terminators, the more detection time, the less spectrum sensing terminators are needed in order to maintain a target probability of detection, the lower of the spectrum sensing users' average throughput, the higher throughput of the others, while the less detection time, the more spectrum sensing terminators are needed, the higher average throughput of the spectrum sensing users, the lower of the others' throughput, therefore there is a tradeoff. In this paper, under the constraint that the licensed users are sufficiently protected, the impacts of sensing time and the number of the spectrum sensing users on total throughput in cooperative spectrum sensing are discussed. Through simulation, the optimum numbers of spectrum sensing users and sensing time are got, which can help the CUWB terminators improve the total throughput and utilize the licensed frequent bands more effective.

At present, the scale and diversity of Web information are immense. Acquiring Web information simply relies on search engine which is increasingly unable to meet user needs, thus Web information extraction (WebIE) technology attracts widely attentions. In this paper, a framework of distributed multi-slot WebIE system based on agent is proposed. It includes user agent, mediator agent, wrapper agent, data store agent, page preprocessing agent and corresponding knowledge base. The agents communicate each other and cooperate together to carry out the general goal of the system. Moreover, aiming at multi-slot extraction, the approaches of extraction rule learning and repair are presented, which enable to enhance adaptability of the system.

To reduce signal overhead, we present a bitmap coding method which just codes changing bits between two continuous bitmaps sent by the same peer. Our method has a novel characteristic that the smaller the bitmap exchange interval is, the shorter the coded sequence is. The average compression ratio of our method is 13.46:1 for real bitmaps crawled from PPLive. For the same bitmap crawled from UUSee, the average compression ratio of UUSee's coding method is 6.26:1, but that of our method is 9.96:1. Besides high compression ratio, our method is also very simple for coding and decoding.

In order to find a more effective method of solving the problem of subjectivity and difficulty to deal with the high-dimension data in the clustering, a new method---an improved PP (Projection Pursuit) based on Ant Colony Optimization algorithm (ACO) was introduced. The ant colony optimization algorithm has the strong global optimization ability and the PP method is a powerful technique for extracting statistically significant features from high-dimension data for automatic target detection and classification. The ant colony optimization algorithm was employed to optimize the function of the projected indexes in the PP. Application results show that the method can complete the selection more objectivity and rationality with objective weight, high resolving power, and stable result.

This paper sets up an analysis model of urban rail transit arrangement based on the application of Delphi and Analytical Hierarchy Process and analyzes the shortcomings of analytic hierarchy process. Furthermore, this paper proposes a design of a more comprehensive and more scientific evaluation index system of urban rail transit performance assessment. The proposed system calculates every index weight using the weighting method-G l , which is based on differential principle, It appraises comprehensive performance using fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method. Verification of the proposed system was done by conducting an experiment using the Shanghai rail transit systems to measure its performance status., Results provide the theoretical foundation for development and correction of Shanghai urban rail transit system.

As a fundamental system identification experiment, modal test with an accurate result has great effects on the subsequent work, which is often restricted by many unavoidable factors. This paper discussed the method of properly selecting response and exciting points with the modal pre-test analysis based on an existing FEA modal to guide and improve the execution of modal test. A modal test was performed and analyzed with an optimized exciting and response arrangement. The modal test result can adequately express the natural characteristics of the specimen, and is more conducive to the amendment of finite element model, because the pre-test analysis derives from the FEA modal. The analytical result of the amended model is quite consistent with testing result in relation to both natural frequencies and modal shapes. The pre-test analysis can provide a convincing advice on how to design an appropriate modal test.

Peer-to-Peer (P2P) networks are widely used in today's Internet. Researchers claim that churn could bring down the performance in p2p networks. AS churn is an inherent character. Researchers want to find some ways to keep down. We investigate this in another point of view, from the searching aspect, churn can bring up search efficiency for repeated search. In this paper, we build a novel peer to peer network in which edges re-connecte actively. Then we introduce how a resource disseminated in it during the time runs off. The last point is that we explain what dose this design gain for searching a resource.

Multiple traveling salesman problem, which uses the shortest total route as an optimization criteria, has huge application in both theoretical research and industry. This paper presents an improved genetic algorithm to provide an alternative and effective solution to the problem. The initial population was generated by greedy strategy, this enabled selected sub-route to be included in the initial population. Convergent speed was increased and at the same time complexity was significantly reduced. The mutation operator combined with 2-opt local search algorithm was used to avoid the limitation of local search ability of genetic algorithm. It also solved the problems of the simple genetic algorithm such as premature phenomena and slow convergence. The simulation results based on our algorithm show that the improved method is effective and feasible.

Agent-based modeling and simulation (ABMS) offers a promising approach to deal with complexities of open complex systems. This article proposed an approach of agent-based modeling and simulation enhanced with pattern-oriented modeling strategy for open complex systems. An agent-based meta-model and its relevant model structure provided a unifying model basis of pattern-oriented agent-based modeling and simulation. This article implemented the agent-based meta-model and its structure to build a prototype system model of forest fire, a typical open complex system. The forest fire model integrated with different patterns such as CA for fire spreading, and network for fire suppressing. Dynamic simulation of the forest fire model revealed influence of these interdisciplinary patterns towards forest fire system. The results show that pattern-oriented agent-based modeling and simulation can be applied for open complex systems effectively.
